Its not reheating rice that's problematic, its how it is stored and making sure it is cooled properly upon cooking. I found this for you.

Hi reecy,
As your thread has dropped down the board I've added it to the main thread on food safety as your query may help others.

I made loads of lasagnes yesterday for the freezer but one of them wouldn't fit in, how many days will it be ok in the fridge for?
They had lasagne last night so not sure they'd be keen on eating it again so soon! It's for toddlers if that makes any difference?0 -
My 12 year old son has a friend who takes rice to school in an insulated cup so now he wants to do the same but I'm scared! I would definitely do it for myself but I don't want to make my little dude sick.
Speaking as someone who has been poisoned by badly stored rice, I would hope you never risk this again. The nine weeks in hospital, near-on kidney failure and the year or so of dealing with the after effects from secondary toxins was no fun whatsoever.
Aditionally, go and look-up Prof Meharg's recent work on the levels of toxic heavy metal contamination in rice - If you eat it with any kind of regularity, you ought to be thinking again.0 -
I tend to go for 2 to 3 days for most things - I can't remember ever doing this with lasagne specifically but I've kept other pasta dishes in the fridge for up to three days and they've been fine.
This is just for adults, though - I don't know if it's any different for kids as I don't have any.

I keep mine in the fridge for up to 5 days and it tastes fine, but as above, I don't know about kids. But I tihnk 2-3 days is pretty normal.0

Hi
I would keep it for three days maximum, providing it had been put into the fridge as soon as it was cooled.
I'll add this thread to the Quick Questions on food safety / sell by / use by dates thread later.

I found a bottle of UHT milk in the cupboard that I had forgotten about. The best before date was mid-February. Would this be ok to use in cooking (probably half in banana bread, and half in smoked mackerel chowder)? I presume it would be but I thought I'd see what others' experiences have been.0
