I am hoping that because mummy29 has not been around for a long while that she and her children are with family, friends, or in a refuge. My heart goes out to her, this thread has certainly stirred up a lot of old feelings that I thought I had left behind.

I hope you are ok. I've been checking to see if you have replied but have not commented. As someone who was in a abusive marriage and stayed 3 years taking mental and physical abuse I can't urge you enough to leave.
I won't get better, all the tears and promises in the world won't change him. Please be safe and leave for yourself and the kids.
