Looks like it might not be teeth
Giz- hope the teeth come soon and she settles down a bit.
She woke every hour last night
And this morning she's covered head to toe in pimples
We thought it was chicken pox, but the doctor has said its an allergic reaction. Have no idea what might have caused it
I went back to work when DD was 11 months, and I was probably asking the same question as you around the same time. In the end I went with the flow with planning to cut out her two daytime breastfeeds. Shortly after she stopped her mid morning feed and she took to cows milk just fine to replace her 3pm feed. By 12 months I think it's 'normal' to just be doing 2 feeds a day. So hopefully for you it will naturally cut down anyway. I found at 10 months old I think DD made real progress with eating, so I guess she was getting more full.Iam going back to work mid March and Poppy will be almost 11 months. Those of you who bf and babies wouldn't take a bottle how did they get on in childcare? Poppy only has one or two breastfeeds during the hours i will be at work so not too worried. She drinks water out a cup well now though but will not drink formula. Also i am struggling to get her to take a nap without being fed to sleep or pushed in pushchair etc. I am a bit worried about her napping at nursery but not sure what to do.
I wouldn't worry about her naps at nursery - you don't have to be there dealing with a grumpy baby and she'll most likely get into the routine quite quickly and learn how to nap in a nursery environment
She'll be fine but it's OK for you to worry too
My DD is being looked after by my mum, but I still worried she wouldn't go down for mum, but she's been fine! Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -

Haven't had a chance to read back yet, but will do so when DS stops trying to crawl all over my laptop!.
Just wondered if I should worry at all about DS only really taking 1 bottle of milk a day now?
We were giving him 150ml of Aptamil 1+ milk in the morning and one at night before bed, but he doesn't seem interested in the night bottle anymore.
He eats 3 good meals a day + snacks, and has cows milk in his porridge in the morning, so at 12 months is it ok for him to only be taking 150ml of formula?
I only got him the 1+ milk as he wouldn't drink cows milk from a bottle or sippy cup, but after this tub has gone I think I am going to try and get him onto cows milk instead as the formula is just so expensive.
I don't know what's right or wrong, but my friend who was still giving formula 4 times a day to her 11.5 month baby was told he should only be on 2 feeds a day.
I am very much with going with the flow, if my DD started rejecting the boob then I'd stop. Some days she has an off day and doesn't take much, but until she rejects it for a few days in a row then I carry on offering. We've been giving her cows milk since 11 months during the day and she has water. My mum has been pushing an open cup and she's suddenly taken to it very well (despite pouring a lot down her front). Just keep trying
Also you ask about him being OK to take 150ml of formula? Well my answer is I don't even know how much breastmilk DD is taking
If he's having a nice balanced diet and growing, weeing and pooing then I don't see any problems. Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
Thanks a lot Gizmodo, that is reassuring! I know i shouldn't worry and am trying to enjoy the last couple of months i have off. I did actually say the same to OH that i won't be the one dealing with her grumpy and I am sure they have a lot of techniques to get her to sleep. She has just got into eating a lot more so hopefully she will be pretty full up through the day anyway.0

MV Bob has one in the morning and one before bed but I think so long as they are having a healthy diet you can make sure it has plenty of yoghurts and cheese in it then you dont need to worry so much about the amount of formula anymore.
Took Bob to a gymbabies trial today, really liked it, it was over so fast so not sure if its worth the money being so short. I'll probably do it though as I can only get to baby group 1 in 6 weeks because I have to meet OH at his workplace to get Bob before he starts so I dont get home from work till 2pm and have to get changed then be at school by 3:15, baby group is 1:30 till 3:30 so can only go when OH is off work so I can get home at 1:30 quick change and be a little bit late. I dont work thursdays and I wonder if because I've paid for it I'll make sure I dont miss it. I do think Bob really enjoyed it. Afterwards some mums from netmums were meeting up for coffee and since we were already out I figured we may as well go to that too, so a really busy day today.0 -
mine has not taken any milk at all since not long after she was a year old. She is a great strapping 17 month old wearing 3-4 clothes and has a very varied diet.. if she thinks it is food she eats it! She does 3-100 poops a day drinks a gallon of juice (Tesco cherries and berries nothing else ever!) so pees like nothing on earth.
any milk is better than no milk and you can add cheese to almost anything, yoghurts, butter, cream.. it soon adds up to a decent level of calcium. Mine will have 2-4 bowls of cereal for breakfast and has ready brek befoe bed alo made with milk.. I mix in some with her dose of casserole or mash so we do get some in.. milk comes in many forms not just from a cup! Wendz - LO's birthday is on Saturday (long labour to follow a long pregnancy - at the time I thought I was never going to see her!). We've got two couples and their babies from ante-natal coming over so small party, nothing too crazy.
MV - I hear that 1+ milk is very sweet (and actually bad for their teeth), so that maybe why Josh prefers it. Maybe mix it with cows milk and gradually reduce the proportion until he's 100% on cows milk.
We've been doing settling in at nursery this week, so she's had to swap BF for cows milk - I was at a loss as to how much LO would need, but they just said they would give her the same amount as others her age and see. In fact she has eaten, drunk next to nothing which apparently is normal but a bit worrying for when she goes all day next week.
Wendz, I was also worried about napping as at home its either on the boob or out in the pram, but they told me she went down easily! I think its all that stimulation that wears them out. She fell asleep in her jumperoo when we got home tonight! We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
The 1+ milk smells like custard! I am dubious about how much sugar it contains too, so think I am going to drop it when we have finished our current tub.
Funnily enough DS only seems to want his bottle first thing in the morning nowadays. The evening one before bed he just messes around with and leaves most of it.
The childminder managed to get him to take some regular milk from a sippy cup the other day, so maybe it's time to start doing away with the bottle altogether.
Good luck for next week Mit3. I was worrying about DS not sleeping etc, but a few friends of mine have said they just tend to get into their own routine when away with you, and I'm pleased to see that so far my routines with him are still holding too.
I'm making the most of the next 2 weeks and doing stuff I haven't really been able to do whilst he is at nursery like getting my eyes tested and going shopping for new work clothes!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
My squeak had ditched bottles altogether by her birthday, and she can now drink from open cups (I caught her finishing my tea  though fortunately it had no sugar in and was quite weak lol and all of you probably know hot tea is a thing of the past!
I bought her a little carton of the 1+ milk and thought it smelled very sweet as well, I just gave her some warm cows milk one day in one of her beakers and that was that. She'll drink milk all day if you let her, so unless she's under the weather I limit it to the evening one as she's happy to drink her water or juice in the morning.
We've had some wobbles with bedtime but now she goes down well for her daytime sleep.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

Make-it-3 - glad nursery is going well! I think they are better behaved when Mummy isn't around hehe.
I don't think i have too much to worry about with sleeping she has just fallen asleep half way through dinner in her highchair for the first time with the radio blaring. Sure she will sleep if she is tired at nursery.0 -
Also remember the nursery will have had loads of practice at getting cranky babies to sleep

If it makes you feel better you can ask them what strategies they use for los who are having too much fun for nap time!
Also I'm sure they wouldn't mind you ringing and checking.
My brother is home this weekend so im having a bit of a tidy. Don't know why lol he's well used to my living room being a tip!
Oh is bringing fish and chips home
