  • thanks claireloo and becles, thats where LO sleeps in the boucny chair but it does lay flat so i put it in that position when he is alsleep, i dont think its the width of the moses basket to be honest i think its because he likes feeling snuggled up but i have tried wrapping him up to sleepand he doesnt like that either. im coming to the conclusion that with all the visitors and hubby not working full tme at the moment he has just got spoilt and likes being cuddle when he is alseep. ironic thing is that as i tyoe he has been asleep nearly half hour in his moses basket lol
now proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j

You lucky thing Sammy, still giving night feeds here. A good night now she wakes up 2 times , have just accepted it now though.

Hope everyone had good weekends. We were down visiting family which was nice and went round my friends who has a 19 month old, don't think he was too impressed at a little girl playing with his toys haha.

OH's Dad gave me some money to get her some clothes for christmas which is nice!

    Morning

Hope all the little ones get sleeping cracked soon. There is light at the end of the tunnel and they will get there one day, but I know how tough it is in the mean time.

Busy week here with lots of typing and other stuff to keep me busy.

It's non-uniform day on Friday at school for Children in Need and Charlotte is hyper about it already. She picked a Pudsy t-shirt and some Pudsy hair slides when we were out on Saturday and she's desperate to wear them :D

Have a good day all xx
Here I go again on my own....
  • Hi all - I haven't posted here for ages, and have only skimmed back through the last couple of pages. Will try and catch up properly.

I saw something Becles had written about the difference in timing of walking/crawling milestones. It's made me feel a bit better as I have been stressing about the fact that Josh doesn't crawl yet and in fact is showing no signs of wanting to move himself in any way!

Other babies I know of the same age are pulling themselves up, starting to make their first steps and zooming all over the place on their hands and knees!

He also has no teeth yet, although has been showing teething symptoms for months and months now. Poor little fellow woke up numerous times last night screaming, I gave him Calpol and teething powders which eventually seemed to help, but I'm just wondering when we might see an actual tooth.

He is 10 months old today btw :o

Hi MV, I have the opposite problem, LO has been trying to crawl for over 3 months but just can't crack it. She gets more frustrated every day and now seems to want to skip it and go straight to walking but she is so unbalanced and places her feet really awkwardly. So we worry when they do and we worry when they don't.

She's also only now getting her first two teeth. Like you I thought she was going to be an early teether as she was showing all the symptoms at two months, until you can actually feel those little spikes coming thru I wouldn't assume any unsettledness was teething pain.

  • Hiya Mit3 :)

I keep thinking I'm bound to see some teeth appearing, and they never do!

I think there is a kind of underlying competition between some mums I know about what their babies are doing and when which doesn't help!

How are you getting on generally anyway? :) Any thoughts of no 2? ;)

LO won't let me see her teeth, but she's happy to bite my finger to demo they are there! I know its hard not to compare especially when the other babies are all moving around, but crawling isn't an essential skill for adults and I am sure Josh has talents that other babies haven't mastered yet.

I don't even want to contemplate doing all this over again - one is enough hard work for me. Have you decided whether to return to work or not yet?

Don't worry about him MV - he'll get there in the end.

Josh never got any teeth until he was about 18 months old! He managed fine with his gums, even on chewy food like crusty bread and meat.

Then when his two front teeth finally came in, he fell face first on a marble hearth and the teeth vanished. Couldn't find them and there was no blood so I took him to the dentist. The dentist said the force of the fall had pushed them back up in his gums, so we had to wait for them to come back again! Once he got those two, the rest all came in pretty much at the same time, but he wasn't really bothered by teething troubles. I think it was because his gums must have been so tough from all the chewing on them!
Here I go again on my own....
  • Oh my goodness Becles, your poor Josh! I had no idea teeth could go back in again! Thanks though, it's good to hear that 10 months isn't getting a bit late for teeth! All my NCT mum friends LO's have 3, 4, 5 teeth already! I'm the only one still with a gummy bear!
Mit3 - yes I am handing my notice in this coming Friday
It's been a hell of a decision to make, and I have been so stressed out, but in the end it just didn't make sense financially to go back. Also for me personally, I didn't want to put Josh into childcare full time, so the job had to go!
I'm looking for something part time now as being a full time SAHM was never on my agenda..I guess I just want everything..to work and also to have time with my son :o
Also we are really going to feel the hit financially, so the sooner I can get some money coming in again, the better!
So are you def not having any more? We want to try again for another, but not until mid next year. I will be 40 by the time no 2 comes (if we get lucky!).
