    Morning

Tired.com! Poor Charlotte has been up frequently in the night coughing and crying. She had a really high temp last night and I was worried, but it's gone down a bit this morning and she seems more perkier. Keeping her off school though. I was in school on Monday morning to observe a literacy lesson, and there were several bairns coughing and sneezing, so I don't want her to pick up anything else until she gets rid of this bug!

Have a good day all xx

  • DL - Sorry to hear you've been having a tough time. We have too. Colic has arrived at our house and I don't know what to do. L is on Infacol but I guess its just one of those things I need to get through. At 5pm without fail every day he kicks off and literally screams the house down. yesterday I just didn't know what to do with him so I had a go at feeding him. He drank readily but as soon as he'd finished projectile vomited the whole lot up which then made him cry so much more. In the end I plonked him in the bath which soothed him but it took ages to get him to settle in bed last night and eventually he went down at 7.30pm.

On the plus side - we managed an actual dream feed at 11pm and then he slept beautifully (and so did I) until 2.30am. After that it all went a bit wrong with L deciding he wanted to be wide awake for 2 hours but I gave him a bit more food, let him sleep in our bed and he went off at 4.30 until 7.30 this morning. That is quite a result in our house!!

I'm seeing the HV today to discuss the colic issues and also my extreme tiredness which is making me constantly tearful.

    Morning,

That is good you have had LO diagnosed doglover and that the medication is helping. Lying on you sounds like the best thing for him at the moment , he is only little and is poorly. Ignore HV!

Becles - hope you and charlotte are feeling better.

Claireloo - sorry to hear about your troubles too. I was constantly tired to begin with and very emotional for a few weeks. Still tired but a lot easier to cope with now.

Sleeping has gone a bit downhill again last two nights. Last night she woke at around 10 and took me ages to get her back to sleep and she woke again at 3 and nearly every hour after that.Hoping for a better night tonight.

    Morning

Charlotte seems a lot better and she wants to go back to school today. She's currently running round like an idiot with the dog, so I think she's fine :D

Claire - hope you can get sorted out and get some sleep. I know it doesn't feel like it, but this stage will pass and you will get some sleep soon. Take care xx

Off to work this morning with a number of calls to do.

Have a good day all xx

  • Hi all,

Sorry to hear of the illness, colic and sleep troubles, i am afraid i have no advice as usual lol.

Emilia is 2 weeks and 1 day now and is growing so fast its mental!

I feel so lost in some ways, i have a lot more experience than most first time mum's becuase i worked in a nursery, but in other ways i feel a bit lost, i am not sure if i am doing anything right (other than putting the nappy on lol) she seems happy enough and everyone is saying that i am doing well but with OH back at work now its a lot harder, he was so good when he was at home and now everything is much more difficult mainly because i dont have him to bounce ideas off or to ask if im not sure (he has little experience of children but oodles of common sense)

    Anyway, im waffling, sorry.

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine :)

for those with babas with colic, I feel your pain. We had it every night for about 6 weeks 5-9 :(

are you BF or FF? if its FF we changed from SMA to C&G Comfort milk at the suggestion of a friend and it worked wonders. Didnt cure it, but helped reduce the crying! E has been on it now from about 4 weeks x

how hot is it today

Squeak has been poorly but seems better now. It's all fun and games here in the mornings lol thankfully my mum has been taking the girls to school which has been nice.

Hope everyone's all been OK and that all the babies don't stay colicky xxx

    Morning

Hope all the colicky ones settle down soon.

Been lovely weather here too. My car said it was 27°C at lunchtime yesterday.

Got a visit to do for work this morning then got some work to do from home. Will probably end up in the garden this afternoon though, and work this evening instead :D

Have a good day all xx

Hey Puzzled, that's what we are here for - to bounce ideas off and get advice. I remember when Erin was a few months old thinking, 'should I be doing something with her?' but they are so umm... undeveloped, that there isn't much you can do.

DD slept really well last night, shame I didn't, I couldn't get to sleep until about 3am! Then I had to get up at 6:30 to get ready to go to my booking appointment. The appointment was really good actually and I got the MW to go through my old notes which was interesting - explained a few things to me that I had been unclear about (pushing when not contracting and pushing baby out all in one go - all ok and normal apparently) and also how my tears might affect my next labour - wont. So I'm happy about that but she refused to look for the babies heart beat which I know they don't normally do this early (10weeks) but they did last time because I was worried after my miscarriage and bleeding. I asked if I could skip all the blood tests but she said if I did they would just do them on the baby when it was born! Sounds a bit bizarre to me but anyway I agreed and had to sit for an hour waiting for the tests. Scan appointment is set for the 18th Oct.

In work now trying to hide all the bounty bags! Luckily I had a pack bag with me to shove it all in.

Hope everyone else is enjoying the sunshine.

Congrats Jennynoo. I hadn't realised you were pregnant. I found myself looking at the maternity clothes sale in Mamas & Papas yesterday, but think I'll wait a bit longer before number 2.
