Congrats on the tiny bundle PP - and I work in the new currency, she's just under what our little one was - enjoy her!
As to the breastfeeding I have tried being upstairs (as apparently babies can smell mummy/breast milk 20 feet away) and he still only takes around 30-40ml, though I think it's getting easier each time. NCT advised me at 9 weeks he's taking around 750ml per day, which on his average is 95ml per feed. So still a ways to go...
If he takes 40ml from a bottle, at room temp, can OH just leave it on the table and try again over the next hour or two? Or do you have to chuck the milk after a feed because he's suckled on it sort of thing?

congrats pigpen, gorgeous baby xx
Sparkle not sure what to say, cant answer the bottle question - I assume its expressed milk and I always struggled to find info about the rules for ebm. Formula has to be ditched after and hour though. Even though Bob was formula fed by this age he was still sometimes only going an hour and half between feeds, I'd just make sure there are a couple of smaller bottles there maybe with 60ml in each. Then you should be able to get a couple of hours off at least. Your OH does seem to be having alot of time for himself when you get none so you are right to address it, I'm sure it was the same for us in the beginning too and OH took some convincing before he realised he had to consider us before he made plans etc x
I'm so behind with everything now I'm back to work its a struggle to keep up on here. PS I hate work0 -
Morning
It's a struggle balancing work, parenting, running a home etc., isn't it Merfe?
Quiet day here as I think I'm waiting in for a courier coming. I need to ring the company and check first. If they're not coming today, I'll go out and do some work instead.
Have a good day all xxHere I go again on my own....0 -
Sparkle - i think you can use the same bottle up to an hour after. Poppy went through a stage of crying when we tried to give her a bottle, she is a bit better now but still will not take hardly anything. As she is 5 months now so i a just trying to get her to drink out of a sippy cup instead. The longest I have been without her since she was born was 3 hours ish when i went for a meal and she was with my mum and refused the bottle.0

Sparkle, is it formula or expressed milk you are trying to give? Formula you have to be very careful with as its non sterile and can start to grow bacteria after a fairly short time. Breast milk can be left a room temperature for up to 8 hours. Maybe, just put a new teat on the bottle if you are concerned, but as long as its only been in the mouth and not touched anything else, should be ok to use again.
Also re quantities, FF and BM differ. A really good website for a EBM calculator and all things breast feeding related is kellymom. We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
afternoon x
Bobs asleep and OH has taken the big ones to the library so I'm getting to put my feet up for 10 mins woohoo.
Becles it is, Keeping up with the laundry now is impossible I've 2 loads done upstairs that need sorting and another load in the tumble dryer where it'll have to stay till I've sorted upstairs, cant put it away whilst Bobs asleep, cant do it when OH is asleep when he is on nights grrr. Well that is my 3 days done for the week anyway so I should be back on track at home tomorrow fingers crossed.0 -
I've got little rota's for things to keep me organised. I wash certain things on certain days. Today was supposed to be my bed linen but the dog was sick in his bed this morning, so I washed the dog beds instead which are normally Thursdays washing, and it's knocked my plan out a bit

I was in a routine with it when I was off, I'm sure it'll start to come together but working has tied in with the kids going back to school so its all been madness for the last few weeks. OH is working on agency now so his shifts are all over the place. The rest of the housework is no problem, just sorting out the laundry and getting to put it away - there is always someone in bed here, either OH in the mornings, Bob napping, the kids in the evening and me at night. I will get on top of it tomorrow but it'll have to be after Bobs had his morning nap, he goes straight to bed after the school run for a couple of hours.
I work Sunday, monday and tuesday and I've been looking at Christmas. Christmas day falls on a Sunday and monday is boxing day so dont have to work, tuesday is gonna a bank holiday too isnt it the Christmas day one? If so I may get the whole of Christmas off - I'm actually not sure if I should bring this to the attention of my manager to double check it so I can orgnaise going away for Christmas or to leave it so she doesnt notice. This may be the only Christmas we can do this as OH is on agency its likely there will be no work until after the bank hols anyway.0 -

Is there a reason you need to be concerned about how much LO is taking? I never knew how much DD got and just decided she was getting enough if she had plenty of wet nappies.
Appraisal was a total grilling and I messed up a bit but luckily not to the detriment of my pay. Worst bit was when I mentioned that we might try for another baby and boss said 'you shouldn't have told me that'
Just signed up for a breastfeeding peer supporter course so I should be a lot more knowledgable soon!
