Hi Wendz same here - during paternity leave he was really properly there and now it seems he's considering things are all 'back to normal' I think because he comes back and just wants to switch off. Not helped by the fact that alot of what I have to talk about is baby stuff...
I am self employed as well as being on maternity leave, so baby & work means I am just as tired when he gets home, it is the same for all of us I guess.
Maybe as LO gets older he will connect with him more, thing is he's missing out and he will never get this time back, but it's for him to realise I suppose.
I can empathise re: your other half wanting time to himself occasionally, hopefully mine wont expect it every weekend!
Becles thanks for your reply - yes I'd love that however am still breastfeeding for a while yet, and LO isn't quite taking to the bottle of milk yet. He only takes around 30ml and his average feed for this age should be 100ml... need to get some progress on that so I can go get hair done etc... I don't mind taking LO with me, it's just that it would be nice to be 'free' even once a month. :):)

I'd try asking him when your 'switch off' time is so you can plan something, that might put it in a different light for him.
Almost school run time, fingers crossed older girls have been much better about going to bed this last week.
Better dash as Squeak s emptying the shoe rack, she loves to chew shoes _pale_ I'm not sure she realises she isn't a puppy :eek:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession :o

Sparkle its really difficult the first few months if you are BF as you are pretty much stuck to them like glue. Also my OH was a bit panicky if I was away "in case she needs feeding". But I agree weekends need to be 50/50.
Sounds like you need to plan ahead so you both have some "me" time. Even if yours has to work around feeding - a long soak in the bath, quick coffee with a friend, or just curling up with a magazine knowing that he will take care of LO's needs for a bit. It will ease up as LO grows, takes a bottle and becomes more interactive. But I still think its best to schedule in time for yourself, each other, family and share the chores. We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0

Thanks guys, I know it was just a bad day and I need to put things in perspective, it just seems that on the weekends when I say 'pretend' I am not here (after having fed LO), I still end up feeling like he's not totally into it and he ends up 'needing' to take rubbish to the dump, go shopping, filming etc (ie stuff that's not that urgent normally, and involves him being away from the house). I do get speedyish 'me' time when LO is in bed on weekday evenings so I have a bath etc but that eats into our personal time together between 7pm and 8.30pm, so i end up rushing it IYSWIM.
I might force myself to just hop on the bus one saturday afternoon after I have fed LO and leave OH to it with a bottle but it will be hard.
 Ah the joys eh...
Trying to stop being addicted to looking for the right pocket washable nappies (I am a newbie so learning lots). It's not working :):)

Hello, just popping in quickly. My son started nursery today (we only found out he could start on friday) and I need to get him a uniform-only problem is all the uniforms seem to start at age 5 in the shops i've been in so far (matalan and asda etc) so where do i find small age 3-4 years trousers and white shirts/polo tshirts? I was hoping to pick these up cheapish-and just buy the school jumper (with logo on) from the school.

I forgot that BF'ing is a tie like that
Just quick time out might help. Could you feed and pop out briefly to the shops or for a walk or something. Even just getting out for half an hour walk on your own will do you the world of good.Hello, just popping in quickly. keely.
Have you tried Marks and Spencer? I bought all of Charlotte's from there when she was in nursery. There stuff is a little more expensive than Asda etc., but I've found it washes better and lasts longer and therefore works out to be good value for money over the year.
Lovely pictures pigpen. I'm jealous of both your baby and your fingernails I'd love long nails like that but mine just snap off. Here I go again on my own....0 I'd love long nails like that but mine just snap off. Here I go again on my own....0
