CL. I am so envious of how your daughter dealt with a social situation....my younger son who has recently turned 3 is a one child destruction unit who would create a riot in an empty room though still totally adorable at the same time!

Wendz I hope they will take it but am worried about the electrical safety test thing as am not sure they have anybody to do it for them but will ask as it will otherwise be yet another ridiculous waste of money on my part if it doesn't get rehomed.

Thanks Delain I have never used net mums before do they let you list things that are free to a good home? There are also formula powder holders and a bottle warming flask to go with them and I just want the space back!
  • Got the last of the back to school bits today-trainers, drink bottles etc so just got to iron it all and then we're ready!!!
oes anyone know where i could get little cartons/bottles of milk from?? At ds2's school, they can have free milk (from an outside company) but we have to register for it-well for some reason it has been registered for ds2 to start getting the 2nd week at school, and i dont want him to be the only one without milk, so was thinking i might be able to get him some milk for him to take (i'm sure the kitchen ladies would put it in the fridge for me-they're very nice!)
The only place i could think of was Mcdonalds as i'm sure they do little bottles of milk, but I would ideally like cartons and i think it would be expensive from mcdonalds!!!
I know he could have water, but don't want him to feel left out, especially when he's just started!
anyway, i'm sure i'll be back tomorrow (well, it's today now!) but right now i'm going to bed!!!

Tesco's do little cartons of milk. i buy them for DD sometimes.
they're semi skimmed (green top) and i think they're 39p.
They have a screw top though, but in a carton style package.

Morrisons do plastic bottles with a screw top too. Similar Price to Tesco's i think. HTH x

Hope you feel better soon PP. Dont know how you cope with getting shoes for such a brood. My ds1 has wierd size feet {big toes small heel} and has often had to start school in last yrs shoes because the shops have practically sold out by mid aug. Last yr I got them the first wk in aug but that was still mucho stresso with my 13 yr old still wanting shoes that dont fit because they are cool lol.

Left it to his dad this yr and ds1 took advantage by spending nearly 50 quid . Not my money though so more fool him...esp as I had bought ds1 new shoes in may which could have been resoled as they still fit perfectly!

bad back is sciatica (cant spell lol) according to a friend. Bit better today but still a pita. At least I can carry baby ok now which is useful as no OH around this weekend.

    Morning

Came back from the caravan last night but left the bairns up there as I'm going to work today. They're going to the Woolsingham show and coming back late afternoon as James is going to a party this evening.

Had a good couple of days. Didn't get to the open air pool as the weather wasn't warm enough. Took the dogs for a couple of long walks and went down the river a couple of times. There's an area where it is shallow with a sort of small pebble beach, and the bairns spend ages chucking stones in the water for the dogs to chase. Easy pleased :D

Played in the play park with Charlotte and played table tennis, pool and footy with the other two. Enjoyed it and will have to do it again sometime.

Have a good day all xx
Here I go again on my own....

Well Sqeak slept from 8.30 to 8am without a peep :j

Glad you enjoyed the holiday Becles :D

Yes Netmums do let you list things as free, it doesn't cost anything so it's worth a go even if it doesn't shift :) Here it would be gone by the end of the day though :)

It is a necessary expense.. I usually get them first or second week in the holidays too but I just could face it and couldnt afford it as we were having loads of work done to make the girls room habitable.

I wouldnt want their dad choosing he would get them 20p Primark pieces of crap and then give me the bill lol... I like to know what they have will last at least! He allowed the boys to trash their shoes when he took them away otherwise they would probably have been ok still.

Mine have either very very skinny feet or very very wide feet, high insteps and low ankle bones.. 3 also have severe hypermobility 2 of which have orthotic boots which saves me a small fortune! So I do only have 5 pairs of shoes and 2 pairs of trainers to buy so it isnt toooooo bad this year..

Glad your back is feeling better.. if a tad jealous... my fall yesterday has sent my pain level sky rocketing today :(

Squeak did 7:30-8 and woke up with the most hideous nappy! .. think she is about ready for a snooze now though.. she is in a right moody nark with these teeth.

Oh.. has anyone tried the calpol melt things for 6+ ????

Moomin often needs pain relief for her back and she will currently only have the pink calpol which is 2months + and she needs about 10 spoonfuls of.. I thought these might be better for her.. and save me some pence...

Can't help on those sorry, the only time mine ever seem to need pain relief is when they hurt themselves, and touch wood that's less often these days.

Still haven't been able to go out yet as Squeak waited too long for her sleep... Now there won't be time to do the things I wanted to do :( No real shocks there though!
