Well done squeak. I wonder what sort of things you can get your hands on now
Did the shoe shopping and it wasn't too bad. James wanted slip on's again but his feet are odd sizes and really skinny and they just don't fit him at all. Luckily the lady brought out a pair of lace up's he liked and they fitted really nice. Charlotte picked the same shoes as she's had the last two times!
Handy hint for nursery/infant children: they can't read their names in shoes, so make an obvious mark on their shoes for them to look out for. I'm going to paint the inside of the straps on Charlotte's shoes with red nail polish, so she knows she has to look for the ones with a red stripe on!
We lost a shoe last year as she came home with odd ones on and we never did find the missing shoe. As the wrong shoe was too small, I had to go and buy new ones which was an expense I could have done withoutHere I go again on my own....0 -

Rach, my OH knows how to hit all the wrong buttons, but if I swear at him he flips and goes ballistic. He doesn't do name calling because he knows its water off a ducks back but he'll throw/break things cos he knows how upset I get when he destroys stuff.
We were having an argument the other day and I suddenly burst into tears as LO was looking at us in bewilderment and I thought I can't do this in front of her. Although I remember as a kid I found it more disturbing when my parents would row behind our backs. What is the right way to go here???We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
No one warns us that having a baby is the biggest test of a relationship. I thought we had done it all going on holiday, getting a house together then doing loads of DIY. All that was easypeasy compared to having a baby. Rach, make OH sleep on the couch, you'll probably get a better nights sleep and you'll all feel better in the morning
he shouldn't call you names and not suffer or have to grovel.
Then take some you time, I love going to my yoga class, feel so much more able to cope after that. Hugs.
Make-it-3 not sure what you can do about the argument but you should probably explain to DD afterwards that mummy and daddy are just venting their emotions but are ok. The words don't matter, just the reassurance that its ok and also it's good for her to see how to regain control after being angry - it's an important lesson so don't worry about it to much.Mum to DD born Oct 2009

hi there - I'm hoping you could help me with some advice... I'm thinking it's probably time to get my little one drinking milk from a cup (not just a bottle). He drinks water from a feeder cup, but if I try to give him milk in a feeder cup he pulls a face and refuses it!
Do you have any tips I could try to persuade him?

We didn't have any problems getting Erin to drink from a cup - she just loves copying us and is always trying to drink from our cups so it was easy. Sorry that prob doesn't help!
Is anyone watching 'donor mum?' the story of the mum who lost her kids is so sadMum to DD born Oct 2009

I think that's why we lost Charlotte's shoe. Half the girls in the class had the same style shoe. Also part of the problem was a supply teacher before Christmas said they would sort it out after the holidays and then when the normal teacher came back she had no idea the shoe had been lost. I printed a note and the teacher passed them round the parents for me, but two ladies said their daughters did have those shoes but they bought new ones over the holidays and threw the old ones away.sweaty_betty wrote: »hi there - I'm hoping you could help me with some advice... I think it's just perseverance. Keep trying and they get used to it eventually.
Busy day today with loads of work to do.
Off to my parents caravan in the morning for a couple of days and looking forward to the rest. Charlotte has been talking about going to the park and I asked if I could have a go on the swings. She said "I'm not sure if the swings are big enough for you". I feel mortified :rotfl:
Have a good day all xxHere I go again on my own....0
