Went out to do a few chores, but the shops are closing up and police advising us to get off the streets. Makes you wonder what kind of world I have brought my child into.We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0

Hi guys, sorry to hear about what is happening in London. It's usually here in Northern Ireland, and is just thugs who have no respect for others and their property. Here you would say they haven't been brought up, they have been dragged up.
My LO had her first day in creche last Thursday and cried the whole time. When I picked her up, I cried the whole way home. Today was her second day. I called at lunchtime to see how she was and could hear her crying in the background, so I took a half day and went and collected her. When I arrived to get her the creche manager called me in to talk to me and I burst into tears. I couldn't stop. She showed me photos of her playing that day and told me she had eaten all her food and had napped, she just happened to be crying when I called and that it might take a week or two, but they have never had a child who didn't enjoy going in after the first couple of weeks.
Hi to all the new Mums!0 -
Hope you are ok Make-it-3, does sound like its better to stay in. I would like to think that the majority of people are upstanding citizens that are appawled by this.
CL - sounds tough about the childcare, must be strange for them to start with but I am sure she will get used to it. I am sure i will be exactly the same as you though.0 -
The baby thinks she is a dog! Her sisters are eating, and she went and stood by the chairs and made fish faces at them. Hers is not cool enough yet, I'm not just starving her for funMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

Spermaiden you're wee man is gorgeous!
CL I had a tear in my eye reading about your wee oneI will never forget my DD's first day at nursery and I cried all the way to work and just couldn't speak to anyone all morning, it was absolutely heartbreaking
She got a scrap book when she moved up to the next group (2-3's) and it was full of photos of her, there is one photo and I'm sure it was her first day and she has a wee dolly and her dummy and is clearly upset, I get very upset when I see it or think about it, it's her wee face looking so lost:( , however the rest of the photos are of her playing and smiling and generally having a ball and getting mucky in 'gloop' and paint. She wasn't very long and she just loved it and couldn't wait to go in and play with her friends
What is happening is horrible isn't it, thank god I live where I do!
I totally agree with Delain, with DD I was desperate for her to reach the next stage and grow up, but now she is growing up and I think whats happening to my wee girl (she's only 4...well nearly, but it's amazing how quicky she is growing up in such a short amount of time!). DS is 14 weeks tomorrow and I want time to slow down a bit, it's going too quickly!"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -
Is typical MI3 they slept through when you don't the first time DS did that me and DH were up in the night being sick!! Hope is quiet where you are is nice and quiet here now (maybe they've nicked what they wanted!)
CL I feel your pain, I've started to leave DS in a creche at the gym and seems not to enjoy it, not sure whether to go back as want to exercise but not sure can cope with worry of him but he will be in a nursery in 2 months!
Lovely supermaiden, I know what you all mean re time - DS is nearly 1 too and crawling/standing etc.Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces

I am looking forward to going swimming again in September, assuming I can get my fat self into a costume. Might treat mysellf to maternity one as last time I just bought one 2 sizes up from Sainsurys for £3 in the sale
It's turqouise, and not my thing at all!
I'm hoping to actually get my washing mountain done today, I'm sat next to it now and there's just no room, I can barely fit on the sofa.
We really really need to move soon. Can't cope with everyone being squashed in here like this
Hope everyone is going out enjoying the lovely weather today :wave:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Morning!!
Well trouble came to Gloucester last night, which is close to where I live-nothing as major as what is going on elsewhere though. from what i've read a couple of betting shops had windows smashed and a few bins were set on fire, and also an old, disused college in the town centre was set on fire. Hopefully there wont be any more trouble there-the police chief person (cant remember his 'proper' title lol) said that it appeared to be copy cat actions of what wa going on everywhere else, but was no co-ordinated-so probably just a few have a go thugs who thought they would try and 'look hard'!
Was going to have my friend and her little boy who is almost 3 over today for lunch and a gossip, but i really cannot be bothered to ort out the mess in the conservatory so might suggest we take a pake lunch to the park-without the conservatory for them to go in, my living room can be very claustrophobic!!! And I think ds1 would prefer to be able to kick a football about than play with a 3 and a 4 year old lol0 -
morning all
All quiet again here
supermaiden - lovely boy, he looks like he's doing great.
L has a sore bum, we were out yesterday and he ended up not getting a changebad mummy. He's currently crawling around nappyless as that always helps, and I will use camomile tea to clean him today too.
He's also trying to stand loads now, he's not pulling up much yet but goes from crawling to legs straight with his bum in the air!
Looking forward to coffee with sir m and another lady from our bf training later.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0
