Does anyone have any suggestions what to use as a sort of 'long term' solution to keep it smelling nicer? Apart
from washing all the trainers, that's on my list too!

I buy these for the hall and utility room as that's where the dogs sleep most:

They really work especially in the hall as it doesn't look good when people come round and the first thing they smell is manky dog smell :o

Nappy changes are becoming a major battle too. His sore bottom won't be helping, but it's mostly because he doesn't want to lie still and wants to be crawling off or sitting up.

    Have you tried stickers?

Buy some cheap stickers and stick one on his hand. He'll be that fascinated pulling it off and sticking it back on again, that you can do the nappy change in peace ;)

At what point do they need shoes?

I'd wait until he's ready to walk outside. They're fine walking barefoot around the house.

Saw a pretty dress on a sale rail in Asda a couple of weeks ago and it was reduced from £12 to £9. My size was there, so I thought I'd go back and buy it after I finished my job. When I went back, someone else had bought it and the lady said she didn't think they were getting any more in. Checked online and it was sold out online too.

Went in this morning and they had another sale rail out and they had the dress in my size and it was further reduced to £4.50. Chuffed to bits with that :money:
Here I go again on my own....

Lottie has fusilli pasta too, I give it to her whole and she grabs and munches away..it is dry though but she doesn't seem to mind the blandness:) The lazy mare prefers to be spoonfed with most other things though as that way it gets down her neck faster(although Ican be slow) and means she has free hands for fiddling with the clip on her highchair!

Thanks Becles! After my manic shoe washing session yesterday it's not too bad now. I've also taken all the school shoes off it since I will get them new this holiday, and their woolly boots because they aren't needed until winter now.

I used to use a neutradol thing a bit like that one... I'm sure I've seen them in the 99p shop so will give those a go.

Hi ladies, here I am again blatantly delurking for some advice. Hope you dont mind. Joseph is 17 weeks now (wow!) so I'm looking ahead to weaning (which for some reason I'm really stressing and worrying about) so a couple of questions.....

Where do you sit your LOs to feed them? Bumbo, bouncer, swing, highchair? I'm not sure he's big enough for a highchair yet. What Highchair do you ladies recommend? This one looks ok, what do you think??

Also were looking at going away in October, what buggy do you recommend? We'd prefer one that lies back around £50. He'd be 6 months then but if we got one we could use now then all the better.

Hope you don't mind me picking your brains, I'm sure if we do book a hol I'll be back here asking for advice on how on earth you travel with a wee one

Hope you all and your LOs are well. I do read often even tho I don't post xx

Highchairs.. I recommend taking him into a shop and trying them.. most have huge seats and the ray is too hih and they are so uncomfortable in them.. we just got Squeak the Ikea Antilop which has a small seat is very cheap and compact and lightweight. It provides good back support and she is so much happier in it than she was her huge chicco monstrosity. Squeak is a monster size baby though.. wearing 18-24 month clothes at 11 months!

Buggy.. I'd get a second hand Pliko.. They go dirt cheap on ebay in fab condition, umbrella fold, from birth.. I love my 2!

I joined the Ikea Antilop brigade and I love it :) Maddy sits in it really well and with a bit of padding she sat in it OK when she wasn't sitting up on her own.

We also bought a wooden one (purely cos OH wouldn't agree to the antilop) but she sits so much better in the antilop that we are using it for now, then it will live in the car to take to inlaws and parents for dinner.

I second the vote for the Pliko - we've had this as our main pram and got it for £25 on ebay (some friends have the same one and paid full price - £300-400:eek:). Now he's bigger we wanted something more light-weight so got a maclaren quest (ebay again - £15) - not as sturdy but does the job.

In terms of highchairs we got a m&p yoyo with no tray as we wanted him to sit at the table and eat with us - there are pros and cons to this ;). However he was too small for it for a while, so we ended up feeding him on our knees... very messy business!
  • Just stumbled upon this thread and thought I'd share our high chair experience. We got one that attaches to a chair and has three reclining positions so could use it from 4 months when little man started weaning. This is the one we have http://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=10751&langId=-1&productId=17228&source=froogle&cm_mmc=Froogle-_-Shopping%20Sites-_-CPC-_-Froogle

Wow thanks ladies. So much to think about, is the ikea one really only £11.22??!!!!

I like the looks of the maclarens too but they seem quite pricey so I'll scout on eBay. Thanks again ladies xx
