My Squeak likes prawn crackers too! And sausage rolls
Have bought some granola type stff from Lidl today to try her on with yogurt for breakfast, since she likes to eat random floor bits they might as well be in official food :rotfl:
All the stuff I ordered last weekend arrived today (bar the book people which was yesterday) when my mum was here. It was all really :money: except for DD1's school skirts and trousers which were full price (and Twin1's lunchbox because I let them choose those, then they are less likely to get lost by october!). Everything else was less than half the RRP :rotfl:
Hope everyone is keeping OK.
Squeak and the kitten are currently going bonkers with a large cardboard box. If they stay still long enough I'll post a pic, though first I smell a smell... _pale_Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Yes please for a photo!!
Feet definitely swell in pregnancy - mine were the WORST after flying, I couldn't even get my clogs on sometimes! BUt I've heard loads of women go up a size or width even after.
Thank God for the weekend...Finn's been doing some independent standing for the past couple days :T:T:T, so we're hoping this means walking is realllllllllllllly soon! He stands with his bum in the air, on his feet & hands, then slowly pulls up onto just his feet for 2 seconds, then loses his nerve and falls onto his bum. Strange child seems to be doing it the most complicated manner possible, lol.top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

Morning
Awwww cute kitty
There were two almost identical ginger cats in our street the other night when I closed the bedroom curtains. They were just standing in the middle of the road facing each other and staring each other out. It looked really funny
Busy weekend here. Took Charlotte to the shops yesterday as she needed to buy a present for a party she's going to. They were selling all the beach toys off, so she got a bag with toys in to take on holiday.
Mystery shopped a museum yesterday afternoon. Love those jobs as we have a great time.
Quiet day today as she's off to her Dad's and the boys are doing something with friends. Got loads of audio typing for work to keep me busy though.
Have a good day all xxHere I go again on my own....0 -
It has been the summer holidys for one whole day and I have had enough :rotfl:
Squeak has cut another toothA big one so no wonder she's been grumpy!
Hope everyone is OK, it's been really really quiet
DD1 filled that box up with books, the twins want one for their books now, so will have to go back to Sainburys in the week as they were cheap from there. If it makes the house look less like a bomb site I'm all for it. Might get a job lot and they can put quite a bit more of their stuff they don't regularly use under the beds as well!
Just waiting on OH putting DD1's furniture back in later, then we will be mostly sorted.
Went through my mountain of washing to put away, there's still some there but it doesn't cover the whole sofa anymore, and the house looks mostly respectable.
We have one of those cheapy shelving units from B&Q by the front door for shoes, next thing to go through that, chuck out what's no good, tidy it up and get OH to stop putting loads of his shoes on there as he has massive feet and by the time 2 pairs of his are on there he's taken a whole shelf! At the moment none of it is put neatly, there is random stuff on there that shouldn't be and it has overflowed all over the floor and bottom of the stairs (which is a very tight space) as well as smelling somewhat cheesySo must tidy it up and make it smell better.
Does anyone have any suggestions what to use as a sort of 'long term' solution to keep it smelling nicer? Apart
from washing all the trainers, that's on my list too!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

I hope everyone's had a good weekend. I had a cold
But I'm mostly better now - in time for work
Joe has a radioactive bottom at the mo, poor thing. He did 5 poos yesterday and 2 before we'd even left for the childminder's this morning. I hope it's teething and not him being ill - he's fine in himself and not at all off his food, so I don't think it's a bug. His poor little bum looks so sore though
Nappy changes are becoming a major battle too. His sore bottom won't be helping, but it's mostly because he doesn't want to lie still and wants to be crawling off or sitting up. I'm seriously tempted to ditch the reusable nappies as they take about 3 times as much effort to get on, what with all the poppers and then having the same thing with the wrap. They're cheaper and more environmentally friendly, but at the moment 'sposies are far better for my sanity! (and I do use Eco ones normally :A)
We tried more lumps at the weekend and they mostly went down OK. He just seems to hate pasta. I've been giving him the tiny pasta stars in a sauce and he just gags and retches everywhere. It's not the sauce as he'll eat it fine on its own, he just seems to have a problem with the pasta stars.
My feet and ankles were like balloons when I was pregnant and I lived in flip flops too. I put my wellies on one morning as I didn't think flip flops were a good idea as I was going to the allotment. I got them on fine and thought great, they're bigger than I thought :T Stomped around the allotment for a bit, then got home and took them off... or rather, tried to take them off - they were well and truly stuck  The neighbours must've had a right laugh if they saw me trying to get them off :rotfl: I nearly had to phone DH to come home and help meMy feet just seem to have stayed half a size bigger now, though not swollen. I'm now a size 9
My ankles are OK, CL, but my knees still haven't really recovered from the extra weight they had to carry when I was pregnant.

Have you tried giving him ordinary fusilli type pasta? I give Squeak this on it's own or with brocolli in a bowl with grated cheese mixed in whilst it's hot, and she loves it. She doesn't like being spoonfed though, unless it's custard or something lol so she picks it up with her hands.
She doesn't like sauces at all really though I did buy some of those little pasta stars, but she hated them and I intend to use them for making christmas cards with the older kids now :rotfl:
She was stood by the patio door earlier watching DD1 mucking about with a hula hoop outside and giggling her head offThough it really scares me to think she isn't far off walking now, she even has her first shoes, they are so cute
but for £24 they want to be :rotfl:
We're all getting more sleep now, since I've started settling her in her cot instead of putting her in with us when she wakes up. She now seems to be waking less early which is nice.
She is sleeping less in the day though, which is a bit  so there's no real opportunity to get things done.
ETA My feet haven't been affected by being PG, but I do love the animal flip flops that are made of like neophrene stuff, they'd be easier to get off and if all else fails you could cut them off with a good pair of snips!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

I haven't tried ordinary pasta yet, but I think I'll try some fusilli instead. Though probably not with the sauce we have as that would be very messy. Do you just give it whole? Hopefully he won't just try to swallow it in one piece!
Joe doesn't mind being spoon fed, though he does seem to lose interest quicker these days. Finger foods hold his attention for longer. Eggy bread seems to be becoming a bit of a favouriteI made some for Joe's lunch yesterday and it looked so nice I had some for my lunch too - probably the first time I've had it in about 30 years
At what point do they need shoes? I don't think Joe's anywhere near walking yet (at least I hope not!), but he's getting very good at pulling himself up onto his feet and standing up so I suspect cruising won't be very far away. Are cruising shoes really necessary? You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.0 -
Yes I put them down whole and because she still grips things with her whole fist, she can't get the whole lot in! I assume joe is the same with the fist thing
That's why she just has some grated cheese mixed in with it, because sauce would make a terrible mess, and I don't want to do anymore carpet cleaning than I absolutely have to! I did give her some doorstep bread soaked in tomato soup, and she really liked it. I did have the good sense to take her top off first though, and I have a picture of the resulting mess somewhere :rotfl:
We got Squeak the shoes because she likes to come out of the buggy and do things outside, and since she is cruising well now I don't mind too much. The shoes she got have flexible soles, I prefer those as first shoes full stop, because the flat soled ones seem awfully heavy for tiny feet.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o
