delain you sound as clumsy as me, I hope you didnt hurt yourself x
Bobs all snotty and has had 2 bad nights this week so fingers crossed tonight is better. He went to bed at 6:30pm yesterday and woke at 8pm and wouldnt settle again until 10pm. He didnt wake then till 6am which would have been fab if OH hadnt phoned me at 4am because he had no keys and couldnt get in grrrr. He normally sleeps 6:30pm till 5:30am ish, went to bed ok tonight so just have to wait and see.
My sister is pregnant, the younger one, she had her booking in appt yesterday and had high keytones and protein in her urine already, not sure what it means just yet. She's on anti sickness tablets and the midwife has said she isnt eating enough. She's the same age I was when I had my first but her capabilities arent the same so my mum is round there every night at the moment and stepdad doesnt know yet. There may be problems with the baby because of the medication my sister has to take so she is waiting till after her scan to tell anyone. Oh yeah and neither her nor the father work so goodness knows how they are gonna raise a baby.0 -
The protein probably means she has a urine/kidney infection and the ketones mean she isn't eating enough!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Thanks pigpen I'll check with my mum that they have done a sample for urine infection then - I did say she could probably do with drinking more too. She sleeps alot so I think with the feeling crappy at the beginning of pregnancy she just isnt getting out of bed at all. She lives so far out in the middle of no where too, shopping etc is hard.0

If she's been ill, she needs to make sure to keep her fluids up, too. Lack of can contribute to the urine infection. Hope she feels better, MERFE!top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

I nees a new pushchair. My old one is well worn. I do fancy a parent facing one. Does anyone know of one cheaper than £169 new, There's a kiddicare imax at that price.
Thanks xx0 -
thanks aless there isnt much I can do I'm over a 30 min drive away and have my kids to look after. At the moment I'm really angry with her (letting that out here), I dont know what she is thinking, she can barely look after herself, she's not in a relationship, she doesnt work the dad doesnt work, she is really not well herself, she has uncontrolled epilepsy. I really dont think she has thought this through and my mum only seems concerned about her sickness and the fact that her flat is not suitable for the baby. Its gonna be a complicated pregnancy anyway let alone when the baby gets here and she is all on her own looking after it. Sorry just had to get that out.
She's going to the docs to see if there is a urine infection, and got consultant appt booked, and first scan should be mid august.0 -
I spend the first 4 months asleep.. every single time! sounds like she is just dehyrated and needing food..
it ust be cappy to be that sick though.. I do count my blessings I don't do sick!
Just spent the equivalent of Africa's combined national debts in Next sale.. ALL the children and OH kitted out for the next year.. I was very naughty and picked up a couple of bits for my fat self.. it'll ebay after of course
And got some baby bits for the grandsprogLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
*hugs* MERFE, it can't be easy.
lwcus, wish I could help you, but my pushchair is forward-facing. It's a Petite Star Zia, which is BRILLIANT for folding down so small and being really lightweight
.
pigpen, gosh that must've cost a bomb! does it not interfere with you magnificent debt-free status (of which I am massively jealous)? I got a few bits in the sale, but I never really go above £100 as not a huge amount tickles my fancy if I'm honest! (well it does but even at sale prices, I get most clothes cheaper at Peacocks or Primani, etc)top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

I love the next sale, wish I lived closer to one but for my bank balance its probably best I dont lol
I have the petite star zia too and its currently in the loft till winter - I do really like it but the toy that goes across the pushchair wouldnt fit on it very well so I've ditched it in favour of the £30 stroller that was in the loft which does the job. Both are forward facing though.
Re my sister I think its harder waiting for other peoples scan etc then it is waiting for my own - I'm so impatient for any news. Just hoping everything is ok with the baby.0 -

Anyway, I've been back at work for about 3 months now, working 4 days a week. A lot of my baby friends are heading back to work now, either full-time or having different days off to me. I'm hoping to keep in touch with them as much as possible over weekends etc but wondered if anyone had any advice on how to meet more people with children LO's age? I've tried a couple of playgroups, but people didn't seem overly friendly (perhaps just because they're in established friendships if they've been going to the groups for a while). I don't mind it just being me and LO on our days off, just thought it would be good for him (and me) to find other people to hang out with.
Thanks
What a busy week! Work has been full on and Erin is STILL getting over her jetlag so I haven't had any time in the evenings. Just managed to catch up, missed the bits I assume were deleted hence no response on those.
SB if you find a way let me know! I've lost touch with most of my mummy friends now as I mostly have Mondays off whereas everyone else has Fridays! The people I do see often is because I bump into them at nursery or the park at the weekends.
