Mine had a bag of microwave steam veg and some ricecakes. Random lunch but I had just woken up and was confooozed lol.
She will eat cucumber till it comes out of her ears, and tomatoes. But she had salad and a sandwich yesterday followed by yogurts and I worry she needs more calories than that.
My floor is covered in random bits of veg now *sigh*Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

She doesn't like rice.. I think it confuses her with it being bitty.. she loves peas and carrot though. She had 3 dinners and 5 breakfast and a lunch yesterday!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

I'm starting to feel a bit more human again after a busy weekend. 500 mile round trip to visit my family. Joe was completely unfazed by loads of new faces (well, he's seen them before but was only 2 1/2 months old so doesn't remember them!). Huge smiles for everyone and happy to be passed around for loads of cuddles

The travelling part didn't go so well, unfortunately. I was hoping he'd sleep for the majority of the journey so we left at around his bedtime on Friday. But he only slept for about an hour and a half (of a 4 hour journey) and I ended up having to get in the back of the car with him to try to keep him calm. Got to my folks at 11 pm and couldn't get him to go to sleep til nearly 1am  At least he slept til nearly 8 the next morning :T
Coming back we left earlier as I figured a stopover to feed him might break the journey up for him. But we ended up having to stop twice and he still had a major meltdown for the last half an hour or so
We need to do these long journeys as I want him to see as much of my family as possible, but it's really going to take the shine off the trips if we have all this stress. I suppose the answer is to take longer over the travelling so he has decent spells where he's not cooped up in his seat, but that then eats into the time we can spend with my family.
Does travelling with little ones get any easier as they get older?
I've just ordered Joe a Bushbaby snowsuit for the winter as they are half price. I got a smaller one from eBay last winter and it was great, really snuggly and waterproof. Seems weird to be thinking about winter clothes now but I read that we're forecast another harsh winter - possibly colder than the last one  - so thought I had better start getting organised. You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. I'm looking at winter coats next week when the tax credits are paid.. I got a snowsuit for the baby and the older 3 are ok but I think I may need to replace the 3 girls coats... and Squeak will need a snowsuit too.
We have a 2+ hour trip to OH's family.. we started setting off earlier.. we had been going about 4/4:30 when the children were collected but then it was bed time when we got there and she had had a sleep so wouldn't settle and then got upset because she was somewhere new and it was all too distressing.. so we set off earlier, about 12 and she had time to settle before dinner and bed time and OH's mum had settled her fussing a little.. I know it is just because she is pleased to see OH and Squeak but she swooped on her ad scared her a bit I think. She was worst at about 5-7 months.. though I reserve the right to amend that after next weekend!!! lol
We tied toys to the car seat.. and have a mirror so we could see each other and a box of snacks and a bottle of diluted juice we could just top up her beaker. We usually only have to stop for bum changes.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Hi all,
I was in Asda at lunchtime and they had the Pampers Mega Boxes for £10. The store i was in only had size 3 (144 nappies), but I looked online and the other sizes are that price online.0 -
Oh I want a baby who eats cucumber! Can't say I blame Finn, I think it's nasty
.
BigBird, traveling long distances is hard with small ones. We usually have meltdowns in the last half hour, I think they just want to get out and wriggle by that point. The best I can usually do is bribe with food and sing songs which mostly helps...top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

Morning
The first year we took Charlotte on holiday, she'd just turned a year old. We were flying early morning from Manchester, so we thought we'd put her to bed with her clothes on, then just lift her at 2am and put her in the car and she'd sleep all the way to the airport (2 hours drive away).
She woke up when we moved her into the car, and ended up singing all the way there instead :rotfl: She slept a bit on the plane though, then again on the coach transfer so it wasn't too bad a journey.
My calls today have been cancelled for work as some point of sale material hasn't turned up. Got plenty of jobs to do from home to keep me busy though.
Hope everyone has a good day xxHere I go again on my own....0
