Two of my three have teachers on strike, so we still have to go out to take DD1. Not going early though, they are lucky they are getting her at all, I did toy with the idea of keeping her home too. Then I thought her teacher is making the effort, and being one of only about 9 or so teachers going in out of the infants/juniors that totals well over 600 kids we should too lol.

Becles you look lovely in that gown, really happy :D

It's chilly here this morning, but sunny so I'm guessing it will be hot when we go out.

Seriously can't be doing with all the faff today :o my mind is still snuggled up in bed!

    Hi all

Seems like I havent been on for ages but been busy with work, holidays to South Wales, FB and life in general... Just had a quick whizz through the last few pages to catch up on news.

Sorry to hear your news Becles but glad you are coping well. Its just happened to my friend in France....she's just post on her FB "It's been a whole month today!!! and I haven't "crumbled and laid down and died" - so up yours!!!"
Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.

Becles -love the gown pic! Have fun with Charlotte today.

Delain - very annoying you had to take one in but enjoy the day with the others.

Just been to music group and she fell asleep straight after so have left her in her pushchair since she isn't really one for napping so need to take full advantage.

DD3 dumped at school.. she is only in this afternoon.. DS3 and DS2 are in all day (2 different school) DD2 is off all day (same school as DS3) and DD4 and DD5 are off all day.... it is ludicrous!!!!

Putting Squeak to bed and making he girlies do some flinging... their room is a bear pit and I am ringing the plasterer to give me a start date AND a written quote ;) I am not daft enough to let him start without having what I am paying for in writing! Hopefully, we will then be on schedule for decorating the first week in August! at 31 weeks pregnant!! lol... fun and games!

    Morning

Ended up at the beach yesterday. We had a picnic and Charlotte and the dogs had a good run around. Weather wasn't great, but she didn't seem bothered :D

Have a good day all xx

That's a great picture Becles, congratulations on your graduation :T

Not having a very good day here today. I've got a cold and Joe is teething. He has so far screamed for about 50% of the time today, despite me giving him calpol and rubbing anbesol liquid on his gums. He managed about 15 minutes for his morning nap and I had to rock him to sleep to get him to have that - I went off to get a shower and he was awake and screaming by the time I finished :( Having such a short nap probably compounded the problem since he usually has at least an hour in the morning. I managed to get him off to sleep again about an hour ago and luckily he seems to be having a decent nap this time, so will hopefully be in a better mood when he wakes up.

And it really doesn't help that DH is having a haircut after work so will be an hour late getting home. He's been told to bring chocolate and ice cream as I'm going to need it by this evening! :p

At 4 they never are! They will quite happily run about in the rain in a shirt and shorts whilst everyone else huddles under waterproofs :p

We had snow when the twins were 4, first time they'd seen it except on TV (it doesn't really snow here, new forest gets it, the other side gets it but we rarely do?!) anyway they'd seen snowman building etc on cbeebies throughout the winter (I know, naughty me too much TV but it was cold that winter lol) and they were absolutely desperate to get out there... Until they went out, when they were in after 5 minutes very put out because it had never occurred to anyone to tell them that snow is cold :rotfl::rotfl:Goodness knows what they thought it would be like :o

Squeak is being hectic, the kitten is a pain in the bum and the heat is just too much. However we are meant to be having a BBQ later and I have washing on the line, a combination that pretty much guarantees rain, so here's hoping :D

Bigbird we've had teething gripes with Squeak too, and she's usually such a chirpy little thing we've even had random old ladies commenting that it's not like her to be grouchy. I do have a hard time not responding with 'you'd be grumpy if you had toothache as well' but you have to be polite.

It is a right pain when it affects their sleep, a couple of weeks ago I had the same with Squeak, took ages to settle her for her sleep then a parcel delivery man rang the doorbell. Boy did he get an earful :o it is so so frustrating when you know they need to sleep and it just isn't happning.

Chocolate and ice cream sound good to me, where do you live? :rotfl:

Sounds like a good day BEcles.

In our school the infants were off yesterday but the juniors were in, so my two oldest were both in:) K is starting Nursery in September, and we have his settling in day on Monday! A bit early in my opinion, but then, even if it was left until the last week of term there are still 6 weeks of summer holidays until he actually starts. I am only putting him in for two mornings a week as it is costing £9 per session, He won't get his funded sessions until after the Easter holidays of next year.....

    Hope the teething settles down.

My friend is going through it with her baby. He's normally full of the most gorgeous beaming smiles, but he had a proper grumpy face this evening - bless him!

Busy day and I'm shattered so looking forward to crashing on the sofa once Charlotte is in bed.

I know there are loads of you with littlies same age as Squeak (almost 11 months).. how much do yours eat?

I am starting to think mine is an absolute fatty pigwig!

    Today she has had..

breakfast : 2 big bowls of porridge with peaches (person sized portion!) a waffle,
    Lunch : Beans and toast
Dinner : sausage roll, 3 fromage frais, 3 chicken dippers, mashed potato with cheese, a banana, 2 huge strawberries

In between all this she has had rice cakes, biscotti, 5 gallons of juice and goodness knows what else. Before bed she will have either 2 weetabix or another huge bowl of porridge with fruit puree (pear I think we have tonight).
