DD1 once fell with a pen in her mouth and it went into the soft tissue between the 2 jaws.. where your back teeth are... OMG.. it was like a massacre. blood always looks more in the mouth as it is mixed with drool, thankfuly it also heals very quickly.. she never did it again though!
Squeak has a red nose today... it looks a bit sore but she doesn't seem bothered by it.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I dont know why I am no good with bleeding mouths-maye because it looks worse than it is-and I must admit I am suprised it has healed as well as it has as quickly as it did!
When ds 1 was about 2 he fell and bumped his mouth and there was lots of blood, but my mum was there so she helped lol but i do keep my cool in other situations-like again ds 1 when he was about 2 1/2 ish had a sweet in his mouth and something made him laugh and he sucked the sweet down as he laughed and he started to choke-I mean proper choking and I just grabbed him and flung him over my arm and gave him about 3 quite firm (not hard) slaps on the back between the shoulder blades and he coughed it up and was fine-although he did turn round and whack me because I had hit him lol
It is roasting here today-which means i'm going to have a baby sleeping all day and awake all night like i did last week when it was really hot!0 -
Oh and meant to say as well, I dont think hitting his mouth made him any more cautious as when i went in the living room to get the hoover to make sure there were no bits of glass left from the beetroot incident, he was in the garden stood on the (rather wobbly) garden table-I swear that child is trying to give me a heart attack lol0

Sounds like a nightmare m&m.
I don't like bleeding from mouths either. Charlotte cleaning her teeth the other day and prancing about. Somehow managed to trip over the bathmat and fell flat on her face with the toothbrush in her mouth. I picked her up fearing the worst, but luckily no harm was done. She's been told she has to stand still while cleaning her teeth now
We passed one of those fish pedicure shops this morning. She stood in the doorway for ages fascinated and wanted a go! It gives me the creeps so I said maybe when she's bigger
She's happy now as she was a very good girl, so I said she could pick whatever she wanted from the cafe. She picked some fresh orange juice and an iced fruit bun. She was absolutely chuffed to bits with it!Here I go again on my own....0 -
Ow about all the injuries. Babies are indeed resilint though.
Becles - Charlotte sounds so lovely and well behaved! Hope Poppy turns out like that!
Didn't have the best night last night , not helped by the fact that i felt achy and had a headache and sore throat which i still have now.Finaly got her to sleep at half 10 and then i sneezed about 11 , woke her up and she wouldn't go back to sleep till half 12, then was awake at 3 for a couple of hours. Lets hope for a better night tonight.0 -
Ouch at the injuries! Must be the week for it as ds2 flew off his bike on tuesday lots of blood from knees elbow shoulder and finger.. They are now big huge scabs. Then on Thursday the school phoned to say he had banged his head and it was bleeding, so we had to collect him from school. He was ok...pretty big bump with a cut on it.
Becles - After seeing you in your gown I was driven to getting myself on the website and planning my final two course....however, I can no longer get funding and would need to pay monthly, which i cant do as come september we need ro find over 70 quid a month for the preschool:-( I am a bit gutted tbh!!!
Anyway, hope you are all enjoying the nice weather

becles - meant to say earlier, well done on the graduation, beautiful pic (and makes me pine for the NE!), and hugs on being a single parent xxx
M&M - what a day, glad he's improving!
we've had quite a nice day though me and dh did have a big row which started in Sainsbury's and continued when we got home as he was moaning I've gone over the food budget again
Budget is £175 a month for 3 of us though dh doesn't eat a main meal at home most nights as he gets a hot lunch at work so he jsut has toast. I feel like it should be doable as i'm not extravagant but i'm struggling. i think it's mainly the popping into sains for a couple of bits plus i've been buying a lot of lovely fresh fruit for L. Money is pretty tight now as I'm now on unpaid mat leave with no job to return to. I've applied for a few things and bookmarked a few more to apply for but I really don't want to go back full time and there's not a lot part time that pays enough to cover childcare and commuting and then leave much leftover. I really don't want to commute and work for a couple of hundred quid a month!
I think L is definitely teething, we've had 3 days of nasty smelling loose nappies - should I be concerned? He's drinking plenty of water and is fine apart from being a bit moany on and off, though i think a lot of it is linked to frustration as he's almost properly crawling (he's commando crawling v fast too!). Also this aft dh went in when L woke from his nap and L was sitting up in the cot with a big smile on his face!!! Think we'd better lower the cot to the bottom setting tomorrow.
Has anyone had the Britax eclipse carseat? my friend has had to get a bigger one for her 3 year old as he's so tall so I mentioned we might buy it off her. I was going to get the first class as it can be rear facing but not sure nowMum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Rach.. he really should be rear facing a bit longer at least. And nasty nappies and teeth do go hand in hand.. he may get a sore bottom

Not that my daughter is a filthy grot or anything.. but....

Hi Rach, I bought the Britax Eclipse for my mum to use with LO. She will be looking after her one day a week and she finds the stage 0 car seat too heavy with LO in it and wanted a car seat to stay fixed in the car. She put LO in it for the first time on Friday and said it was great and that LO seemed to love it and find it really comfortable. It has 5 reclining positions.0

Awww - that's such a shame Mel. Maybe something to do when you've finished paying for preschool though? Hope you manage to get it done sometime as it's a great feeling at the graduation.
Sorry to hear about the row Rach. Hope you get things sorted out with the budget. We used to row a lot about money as I don't think he realised how much things actually cost and I didn't feel he contributed enough of his salary to the household costs.
If you are worried about the nappies, I would get him checked out to be on the safe side. They do have weird poo's when they are teething though and sometimes get nasty nappy rash. No idea why it's connected though!
Lovely picture Pigpen
Quiet day today. Charlotte off to her Dad's and I'll miss her loads. Just pottering about at home until it's time to go and collect her.
Might weed the front garden if my neighbours go out. I don't feel ready to tell the neighbours what is going on or why OH left, so I've not said anything to any of them. Other ex (boys father) was up yesterday and when he was leaving, my next door neighbour was lurking and called him over for a chat. The bedroom window above the front door was open, so went up and ear-wigged
Ex told neighbour all the gory details and they had a right b1tchfest about it. I don't really get on with next door and didn't want them knowing as my neighbour has a huge mouth on him. As soon as ex left, neighbour was straight over talking to the neighbours opposite. Knew it would have to come out sometime, but would rather tell people in my own time than have ex stirring things up
Have a good day all xxHere I go again on my own....0
