Morning
That's awful news m&m - hope he feels better soon xx
Didn't sleep well last night and have got masses of work to do today, so I've got the Monday morning blues as well Aless.
Have a good day all xxHere I go again on my own....0 -
I'm up and need to be busy.... but Squeak is a ratbag and will not g down again so we are doing everything lugging her fat self around.. the extra 2 stone is going to break me further.
I aim to sort through the dressing up stuff and send all the smaller stuff to nursery.

((Hugs)) Becles. It's not nice to have folks talking about you. But, as PP says, they'll probably find someone else to gossip about before too long. Bang out of order of your ex though
Hope your LO is OK M&M and has had his fill of bashing himself for the time being!
I have no idea how you manage on £175 a month Rach! We spend about twice that
We really need to get our grocery spending down as it's just getting ridiculous, even though I've cut out most of the extras. It cost over £100 on Saturday and that's only a week's worth of stuff. I'll have to have a look at that website aless, and maybe get my butt over to the grocery challenge thread for some ideas.
I need to move the base on the cot down a level today. Joe has only been crawling for just over a week and he's already started pulling himself up onto his feet  The childminder thinks he's going to move onto walking quite quickly - God help us!
We are going to see my family this weekend, so have a 500-odd mile round trip. He tends to slump forwards a bit in his rear facing seat if he falls asleep, so we have to put a towel under it to tilt it back slightly. He'd be much more comfy in his new forward facing seat but I don't really want to risk us having an accident on such a long journey on the motorway. Having read about the stage 1 rear-facing seats I'd have loved to keep him rear facing for longer, but there's no way I'd be able to get him in and out of one of those seats in the back of my Mini and we just can't afford to have 2 seats. The one we have (Britax Duo Plus) has some "pivot link system" thingy that is supposed to push the bottom of the seat forwards in a crash to counteract his head being thrust forwards, so hopefully would be a bit safer than a standard forward facing seat. I'm not sure how much of that is true and how much is just Britax propaganda though.
Oh dear, I have wittered on, haven't I?! I'd better get back to work...You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.0 -
Becles, exes are awful. Just remember they are exes for a reason, and it could be worse, you could still be putting up with it.

Our shopping bills are quite high too, obviously there are 6 of us so £175 a month wouldn't touch the sides
What gets me is when I've got it all worked out and then I have to buy sun cream or washing stuff or the electric runs out or there's a school trip I've forgotten to pay for *sigh* and it all goes out of the window.
I paid £16.50 for my brother to go back to London yesterday, mum was meant to go and get him and his flaming dog, bring them back then he goes home on his own. She didn't get to London till 2, he couldn't even come say hello to me, my mum now can't have the twins over because they are afraid of dogs and that's cost me £16.50 I didn't really have... The annoying thing is I know mum could have given it to him she was just being awkward. Got half a mind to ring her and ask for it back because I'm going to be broke by the end of the week
Had to get weekly bus tickets because I ended up giving OH £100 to buy his silly little car last month so haven't had enough in one go to buy the monthly ones... so that's £45 a week to not even be at school on time
Am starting to think I should just have said no to my brother! I really really hate being broke, but at least I can guarntee they can get to school all week if nothing else.
I don't know where all the money goes to be honest, it's driving me mad. We don't have loads of treats, everything has just gone up so much.
Squeak has what looks like eczema all over her arms and legs, got doctors at 3.40.
We have the Jane matrix car seat, and luckily it's huge so Squeak is still in it. PP we have the slalom pro, the single version of the tandem you mentioned, and I have found it very good for walking about with it. If it wasn't so long I'd be looking at the tandem as well, trouble is I'm always crashing the one I've got into things already

OMG just been to the nursery - it's great and I wouldn't hesitate to send DD there, but the cost...
£660 a month for 2 days a week. Ouch.
We've booked in to see another one that is £20 a day cheaper to see what the difference is.Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
Another thought - we'll need 3 car seats when DD starts nursery as it'll be me, OH and my mum picking or dropping her off at different times. That will be a pain.Baby Giz born 6/2/110

I crash my single pushchairs too.. and I can't even push tandems.. I want the nipper 360... But OH won't come look at it.. I may just have a hormonal rant and demand!
Squeak is at docs tomorrow.. only because I said the doc asked to see her so they 'squeezed her in'... they open the lines at 8am I got through at 8:05am and there were only emergency appointments left which were with the crappest doctor ever who I refuse to see anyway... I was asked once if I refuse to see him because he is Indian.. despite the fact the one I asked to see is also Indian and the other one I take the children too is Sri Lankan.. I said 'no, I don't care where he is from.. but he is just plain useless so I don't want to see him!'
Anyway.. she has eczema flare up on her legs, a sore lip.. it kind of looks burned if that makes sense.. that isn't possible BTW just how it looks, she is going mad with her ears and has constant bellyache/wind the last couple of days.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

I'd get a more expensive one for the car she does the most journeys in and cheaper ones for the less used ones.
Kiddicare however do discounts if you buy more than 2 of things so might be worth checking out!.. and pay quidco too!!!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Giz we had all this when my lot were smaller... they used to go in my mum's car, my nan's car an ex mils car. They were all under 4 at this point and in the pain in the bum seats... the sensible thing to do would have been to leave the car seats with the child and be strapped in each time, could you try that?
We couldn't because ex mil paid for DD1's seat so it was only allowed in her car for when DD1 was with her and we should all buy our own (this was when I left KH by the way, then she criticised that they weren't all £150+ seats... well we did have to go out and buy three seats at once, cheeky cow)
ETA: I only ever get to see my own doctor by ringing and asking her to call me back and she books me in herself... otherwise she has a 3-5 week waiting list at least. Luckily all the doctors I've seen are lovely. I should really call them because I've had weird stuff going on, I thought it was because I was anemic but apparently I'm not now, so that leaves it unexplained, but I hate feeling like I'm a paranoid cow wasting the doctors time, even though they never imply that, it's just me!

Do you find the straps twist on your Matrix? I hate ours with a passion as they are always getting twisted at Joe's shoulders and then get stuck when you try to loosen or tighten them. And it doesn't help that the button you push to loosen them is by his feet - as soon as he sees me reach for it, he starts kicking my fingers, so getting him out of the seat is a real battle! I'll be glad when he's properly grown out of it and it can be consigned to the loft.
And I'm forever crashing our Slalom too. I'm glad it's not just me
