OMG that is expensive. DH has done me a spreadsheet so I can work out what I will earn after tax, nursery, commuting etc for different jobs and different hours which is quite helpful.OMG just been to the nursery - it's great and I wouldn't hesitate to send DD there, but the cost...
£660 a month for 2 days a week. Ouch.
We've booked in to see another one that is £20 a day cheaper to see what the difference is.
:rotfl:I crash my single pushchairs too.. and I can't even push tandems.. I want the nipper 360... But OH won't come look at it.. I may just have a hormonal rant and demand!
But yes I am forever just crahing into things, I have been known to knock over whole shop displays.
Squeak seems to be able to wriggle the straps off her shoulders of the car seat, they're either so tight you can't do them up and she's squashed, or she has too much room and doesn't seem secure.
[/QUOTE]I crash the xt sometimes too lol
we have the same problem with the car seat straps on the mothercare infant carrier we have.
sweatybetty - i have the same re seats, I am hoping to keep L in his infant carrier for a while longer at least. I think the main thing is their head needs to not be over the top of the seat, pigpen is that right?
I'm still not sure about the eclipse, my friend has been so good giving us stuff and also has stair gates for us and clothes so i don't really want to say no to the seat now, I may also get the first class and keep the eclipse as a spare for my mum as my nephew will need a bigger seat too before too long! If i do buy new i will go back to the shop who advised me really well before
giz - do you know anyone who could pass you on a seat or 2nd hand like my friend? i know if it comes from someone you know it's ok as you can trust them to say if it has been in an accident!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
oh, and to moan a bit me and dh had a row at 5.30am when L woke up as he is not a morning person and ended up calling me fat
which is true but not nice. I'm sick of not being able to do anything right. Actually that's not true he can be lovely too he's just a horrid grump in the mornings. I just feel so rubbish today, my hips are literally agony for some reason and i can hardly stand or walk. Last night I was doing a job application as i really do need to find work soon, but then he says it's not worth it for the money etc but then 5 minutes later i'm in the wrong for not having a job because we can't afford a takeaway etc. sorry probably doesn't make sense but you get the picture.
we are meant to be going away for a fortnight on sat, i'm not really looking forward to it tbh as i can't really walk properly and i have to do all the driving as despite promising to he hasn't practiced (it will probably be over 1500 miles in 2 weeks).
sorry, moan overMum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -

I hope you tell him all these things too.. I'd be saying things like.. I can't do X I'm too fat and I couldn't possibly have sex, I'm too fat ... Oh.. I DO say those things!
Find a job YOU are happy with.. so what he thinks he chose his job you have to choose yours, you are not a child you can make decisions for yourself!
We are supposed to be going to OH's mums in 2 weeks and I am dreading sitting in the passenger seat for 2 hours+ without having to drive it.. I hurt just breathing as it is! To make matters worse we are going 2 weeks after that as well!!

Yep I do pigpen, or similar. I said 'i've just cleaned the kitchen floor even though my hips are agony because i wouldn't want you to think i'm lazy as well as fat!'. He said you're not either, sorry i shouldn't have said it or similar and I said i'm fragile today, he said 'sorry it's my fault'. My resonse: 'yes it is your fault'. why should i make him feel better?!
I think I may see if my friend is free for a trip to ikea one night as I would like an evening out (that's about as exciting as it's likely to get) and I have stuff to pick up from the mothercare there too.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -

I don't know where all the money goes to be honest, it's driving me mad. We don't have loads of treats, everything has just gone up so much.
I've found that. Prices just seem to be creeping up and/or pack sizes are getting smaller. Not really changed my shopping habits, but it just seems to cost more and more.
Hope both the Squeaks feel better soon xx
Hope you are ok Rach *hugs*
I've been a bit ratty lately. I told Charlotte she has to tell me off and tell me not to be so tired and grotty. She keeps telling me off and it makes me smile and feel better. She thinks it's hilarious
Here I go again on my own....0 -
No, don't know anyone

Shame as i would have loved to have/borrow some bits.

Well I thought things couldnt get any worse with ds 2 this week-well I was wrong! We've not long got back from A & E-he tripped in the garden and caught his eye (well just above his eyebrow) on his scooter and it was quite deep and needed glueing back together. I'm so proud of how brave he was even though I could see it was hurting when the dr was leaning it and putting the glue on
hopefully hes got it all out of his system now!!
Rach, I used to spend £100 a month including all washing stuff and veg for the rabbits. Admittedly we didn't eat too healthily. And perhaps things were cheaper too. Remeber value butter was 45p, it's now £1.10! I remember at uni the value bread was 7p
The overspends will def be those shops where you pop in for bread and come back with £10 of stuff! You've got to be strong
So have I - I keep spending too much on chocolate.

Really struggling to get DD to bed these days. I don't know if it's coincidence but she starts having a screaming session around bedtime. She's doing it again tonight, I suppose it's teething (OH is with her at the mo). We looked for the aston and parsons (whatever it is) but our Tesco didn't sell it. Maybe look in Lloyds Pharmacy tomorrow.
After seeing the comments and speaking to other people I have decided that £72 a day nursery fees is far too expensive for round here. Have contacted a few more for details to get a better idea. Plus got the one from this afternoon to go and view.
We went to a carboot on Sunday and got ourselves a bargain...a huge box of Duplo for £10
Very happy with it, there must be about 400 bricks and a few sets (few bits missing) including a zoo set which is cool. OH and I spent last night having fun looking online for what sets there might be and trying to build them
Also got stacking rings from Tesco for £3 (thanks to whoever it was for that tip). They didn't have the stacking cups I wanted though.
I'm getting really miffed at work. I've requested to take a couple of days off a week using my holiday for about 3 months when I return to work next year and they've still not replied after a month. I really need to get this sorted so I know where I stand with nursery, especially as my OH needs to know so he can arrange his day off in the week to be on a day when I'm working. Plus I just like to be organised. I've already sent a reminder email, so not sure if I should send another. I was hoping to see the boss when I popped in last week, but everytime I go to the office he's not there.
Right OH is having no luck. I'm off to help.Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
Giz - can you phone? dh always tells me off for emailing about stuff as people can ignore them much easier than if you phone! I hate the phone though! with dd do you think she could be overtired? how long has she been awake when you try to put her to bed? what's your bedtime routine? maybe we can suggest some things to try xx
well one application finished, just waiting for a referee to confirm she's happy to do it and her details.
giz - i do think that nursery sounds really expensive. Around here they seem to be £50ish per day in bromley, which is more than enough! until we've exchanged on the house i don't really want to look for anywhere, the downside being if i do get a job and have to start quickly it might be harder to find somewhereMum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0
