LOL re the broom pp, I did put a mat over window in hall as thought light may be waking him but didn't make much difference and fell off last night! Tried once to ignore him but was really crying so felt cruel, maybe try again tonight but DH usually gets him and brings him into bed and is like, he's hungry!

Sir M - dd has started waking about 4-5am when normally she sleeps through until 6ish. I'm putting it down to teething (we still haven't got any teeth but they are very nearly through).

Thanks Rach, tried to pm you too, but system said you don't accept pm's??

I also got caught in that rain shower coming back from the library (picking up the Gill Rapley book). Negotiating the puddles with one hand on the pram and the other holding an umbrella wasn't exactly successful - but we're all dried out now.
that's weird, i'll pm you and see if it works. I do get pms usually!

I had to steer one handed too, had a brolly in one hand and shopping on the handles lol but thankfully the maclaren is so easy to push even with one hand! enjoy the book, i got it from the lib initially then bought a 2nd hand copy from another forum.

Did you have a breast abcess rach? How did you carry on feeding I could barely pick Bob up? You did fantastic to carry on, its hard normally but when you're ill and in pain almost impossible.

Beccles as well as bottle feeding I also give my little bobit the odd yoghurt and baby biscuit I'm such a bad mum. But then on the telly this morning they were talking about people that gave their kids sweets for breakfast and one of the mums from school (and I was really shocked by this as she seems so well presented, smart, nice etc) was saying how her little boy same age as DD 6 years had to have a filling and she has had to stop giving him sweets everyday. Then there was the poor girl from DD preschool who developed type 2 diabetes at 5 because in her home there's 3 kitchen draws full of sweets, one for mum, one for dad and one for her.

Bobs on his way to being a chatabox, started with loads of mouth movements but nothing coming out but we are now getting all sorts of gagas and raras. No clear mama or Dada yet so there's a bit of a competition going on but I've no doubt dada will come first just cos its easier.
Merfe, no, i had a pilonidal abcess which was really nasty, felt so ill, not surprised as my body was full of infection! Had it done under local anaesthetic as I refused a general having had one less than 9 weeks earlier for c section, and i wanted to continue feeding. It is hard bf in the early days, or it was for us, with the tongue tie and thrush too but I was determined and had lots of encouragement and support (plus as sir m pointed out once dh wanted me to stop and that made me bloody minded!)

I worry i let L have too many sweet things, like you said the other day he has loads of fruit and he has fromage frais too. he does eat well though, we are always laughing as he's eaten stuff that dh says he didn't try til he was 30 like asparagus, bream, santini tomatoes!

  • Thanks for letting me offload ladies x I feel a bit more chilled and straight headed now-that might be helped by having all 3 kids in bed lol

We have our 6 week check next week, so may mention it to the dr then-it's a new one as the old one retired last year, and he was lovely and very easy to talk to. I've only seen the new one once, just after I had flu after christmas, and she seemed ok, although i did leave feeling like I had wasted her time

pigpen I sorted the insurance online afterwards-went through quidco and got £50 with that, and also as it's with Sainsburys will get a £30 giftcard and double nectar points for 2 years, so worked out better in the end.

I've also done an online food shop and included easy cook, easy serve foods such as new potatoes, chicken breasts, pork steaks etc and frozen veg so i can just whack it in the oven/pans and serve it. I will have to get a slow cooker as i didn't replace ours when it broke, but i could bung everything in it in the morning after max has been fed as he's quite happy then and the other 2 are quite keen to talk to him for a few minutes to keep him happy.

With the house, there is a lot of stuff just dumped that needs to go in loft, but as hubby has been working funny shifts and has not got a day off till next thurs, it will have to wait. And I have loads of clean washing that needs sorting and putting away-the older 2 are quite good at tidying up after themselves. Downstairs is fairly tidy (well apart from conservatory which is a bit of a dumping ground) it's upstairs that I never seem to get to-putting washing away, changing beds etc Hubby is on a late shift in tomorrow so I will get him to watch the kids for an hour so I can whizz about up there (I know I could just get him to do it, but I know he just wouldn't do it right lol) I think It's just that everything just seems really overwhelming at the minute- a bit like i'm in a hole that is just getting deeper, and then I don't know where to start, so I just don't!

Oh and following on the conversation about childrens teeth, i noticed at bedtime when brushing ds 2's teeth that he has what looks like as abcess (sp?) on his gum above one of the front teeth. They do eat sweets (not as excessively as they would like lol) and both have always been very good at brushing so there was me thinking it was my fault. About 6 months or so ago he bumped his mouth and his bruised the tooth that is now where the suspected abcess is, and reading good old google, it does say they can occur where there has been damage to the tooth, so i'm thinking that may be the reason.
Anyway I won't be able to get him to a dentist until next week as our stupid little town ( it's lovely actually, but stupid for this reason) only has private dentists that will not see nhs children so we are at a dentist that is not even on a bus route, so need hubby to drive us, and he's working all weekend, but luckily it doesn't seem to be bothering him at the minute.

Oh god another load of mumbo jumbo-sorry :o xx lol

I do that a lot actually! Hi!:j Not sure the little jumping jack man is the right one to use but no waving man one!

I think I'm that used to people telling me I talk a load of nonsense! And they're right!

Sir M - Chunky has started to get very restless at night. Usually he would have slept until 6-7ish. I'm lucky if gets to 2am now. Although got to half 4 last night - woohoo. We're waiting on tooth number 7 as well and possibly 8 who knows. Poor baby. These ones seem to be really bothering him too.

Got see DH's cousin's wee boy today - what a wee dinky! Mine was never so small. And I can say that cos he wasn't! :) Made me very very broody though which is worrying DH! :rotfl:

M&M - unload away. Folks on here are very helpful - and very good with the advice. I am in awe of anyone who has more than 1 child. I can barely look after one let alone any more than that. Glad you got the insurance sorted. Sometimes it helps just getting one job out of the way.

I have to get up and make cupcakes in the morning which to be honest I will enjoy and I need to get a sausage casserole in the slow cooker (which for us in a glorified sausage, beans and spuds!). Mornings are definately much easier now I have stopped expressing.

See - I can talk drivel and not delete it! :D

He's having a nap now and i'm putting my feet up now i've put the nappy wash on. we're going to walk to the local pond when he wakes as there are loads of ducklings and goslings etc there at the moment. Me and dh went loads when i was pregnant as I could only walk about that far!

I just feel guilty about everything all the time (like the fact the kids had oven chips for dinner 2 days in a row, or that I burnt hubbys dinner the other night cos I was sorting Max out and fogot I had it in the oven, and that i'm not bf Max anymore (even though he's a little chunker and put on 2lb 8oz in 2 weeks )
I can join you on stuff like that.

Yesterday was one of those days. I dyed most of DD's nappies, inserts and wipes yellow :( I really beat myself up about it as I'm gutted because they don't look clean to me anymore and also it'll devalue them when I come to sell them on :(

I then ruined dinner and the whole lot went in the bin so we ended up getting a KFC and now I feel guilty about the money we spent on a takeaway when we really don't have that money spare at the moment.

This week I've been so unorganised (mostly I'm blaming it on OH because he's under my feet as he's off on hols). But we've had terrible meals all week - mostly sandwiches or fry ups because I keep forgetting to take the food out of the freezer.

I just wanted to point out M&M that you're not alone :o Try not to be too hard on yourself. Write a list and cross things off as they get done - I know that makes me feel better.((hugs))
