I didn't go to nct classes either, dh didn't want to pay for them or go! i've been lucky though to have great support mainly via fb from friends all over who have been there before! i remember one particular fb group message i sent when i was really struggling to really diverse friends none of whom knew each other, including a vicar, pigpen, girl i hardly knew at uni but have become fb friends with and another couple of friends...love it!
in terms of paid groups, we're doing catterpillar music which is great but it's definitely the less yummy mummy end of the groups things. the one that gets me the most is buggyfit type ones which charge a fortune for basically a walk!!
Mi3 we'll pm you then and get something in the diary, we can easily jump on a train to cj, my friend lives near there on a boat on the thames too so i've done it with L before! In terms of staying awake, i'd say 2 hours at that stage, particularly earlier in the day. L is now 8.5 months and is ready for a nap between 9-10 in the morning after getting up at 7ish, usually sleeps for about 30-45 mins, sometimes more, and then he's ready for another nap anytime from 12. I think my biggest mistake early on is to keep them up too long and overstimulate them. we can chat about it when we meet, or pm me. xxx me and sir m are meeting up later this aft for a cuppa so we can look at dates then.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Hi PP, did you go to the wedding and leave the LOs with the grown up children?0

ah pigpen how i love your posts!
and delain you're a fab mum i'm sure! L is a bit like that too, really smiley...we are out and about walking and for coffee quite a bit.
Had a lovely morning with him today, we went to the local pond and fed the ducks and there are loads of goslings, though L just ate the bit of pitta i gave him to throw in lol. he seemed to enjoy it though!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Hi PP, did you go to the wedding and leave the LOs with the grown up children?
It was just our scheduled monthly trips to visit OH's family this weekend.. beasties were with KH.. I don't get invited places like weddings lol.. most people I know are too sensible to get married
DS2 has come back saying he is never going again and he hates him even more than he hates me.. I shall work harder on my hateability.. noone will tell me what has gone on so I shall be asking that tonight IF he turns up..
DD3 has chosen to go to her friends house tonight rather than go to KH's.. again no reason behind it..
I am getting very suspicious about what is going on.. DD1 hasn't been since christmas!!!
We are now kind of planning OH a birthday bash for his sister to monopolise.. so she has invited everyone she thinks should be there.. and OH said he could always go without me.. I said he could.. so long as he isn't thinking of coming back! cheeky pig!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

I'm in a strop this week.. no apparent reason I just hate the world!
Squeak scowls at anyone who dares to look at her.. and god forbid they should speak to her.. she could turn people to stone!
She found a pic in her book of a cat today... looked at the pic and kissed it.. then looked up at our cat and did a large miaow (the baby not the cat!!) and looked really proud of herself.. she loves the cats.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I spent some of yesterday practising sitting up with my LO and she seems to have got it! She can now sit for about 10 mins unaided. When she has a bit of a wobble, she can correct herself and usually topples over only when she reaches for something too far away. I'm really pleased, because I'm sure now she will be sitting confidently by August when she goes to the creche.
ETA: anyone else find they're putting nappies on babies when they're in all sorts of odd positions??? Lottie doesn't stay still and its easier & faster to put the nappy on however she is rather than making her lie down..me thinks I'm wayyyyyy to soft:o:p:D1.11.09 - debt = £45k:eek:

Joining the NCT was the best money I spent.
I have made a group of really good friends and we meet up at least 3 times a week. We don't bother much with paid for groups, more we go to the park if it's nice, have picnics go for walks etc..we've even been for a couple of evening pi55 ups!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
My NCT classes were money well spent too. Before I came back to work, we'd meet up a couple of times a week. The rest still do, I just make it once a week on Fridays now. We're all going away together later in the year too
I'm feeling bad about going back to work as the little man is ill againIt's been one thing after another since he started going to the childminder. (I wish I could follow your lead pigpen and not have him exposed to other people's germ-ridden offspring!) No idea what the problem is this time. He has a bit of a temperature and is incredibly clingy. He threw up quite spectacularly last night, but nothing since. He's managed a couple of short naps in his cot but the rest of the time wants to be held, and wants you standing up rocking him. Luckily DH had some time off owed to him so came home at lunchtime to help. I can see tonight is going to be a long night
And the Dr can't see us til tomorrow afternoon. I'm tempted to just call the out of hours doctor later as at least they'll see him quickly. We'll just have to see how he is later.
I'm supposed to be working now but really can't be ar*ed. Having had 2 hours sleep isn't helping. And I'll have to work on my day off tomorrow to make up for the time I missed today before DH got home. Surely it must be my turn to win the lottery so I can be a lady of leisure?!You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.0 -
