Wow, I've not posted on here for 2 months. Bad me!
Just a quick grr at Health Visitors. Baby V is now 13 weeks old and just had her weighed - she's put on less than 1/2 lb in 3 weeks and still isn't 10lb. Helpful HV suggests I supplement at least twice a day. Which would be great if I wanted to and if she took a bottle!
This is my 2nd tiny daughter, I appear not to make big children, she is healthy, empties each breast when feeding and poos and wees. Just need some reassurance to ignore her basically. (the HV not the baby)
Hope everyone here is ok - I do read, it's got a lot easier to catch up here with less posts.0 -
Hi all. I have had a look in here before and it looks like a great place for advice but im afraid i will more than likely remain a lurker as it moves too quickly for me to catch up on things once or twice a week! I'll still introduce myself though (and some may know me from the pregnancy club up until November when i just dissapeared!)
I'm a new dad to 8 week old Ethan James. He's as good as gold!! At the moment he sleeps from 11pm until 6am every night without fail - i cant believe how lucky we are for that. We're very new to it all and we're mainly doing what we feel is right rather than reading alot of books and stuff. We both feel that we had great parents who seemed to have good morals and were similar in parental style so we'll mainly just try the techniques that we remember our parents doing.
I would love to eventually meet a few other dads and mums as we're very isolated from other new parents at the moment. My partner is starting to go to baby massage days and play days which is great but they're all in the day and i cant get involved as im in work
Lots of love to you all. May the battle continue!!!MFW - <£90kAll other debts cleared thanks to the knowledge gained from this wonderful website and its users!0 -

DS was a dinky baby. If you're happy then don't worry;)
I think I may have a problem with daisy.... someone said she looks 9 months old!!:eek::eek::rotfl:I think they meant because she was sitting up chatting away... well I hope so anyway or she must be one giant baby!:D

Hi Bufger!
Dribblekitten, how big was bubs when she was born? My LO was 6lb 7oz at birth, lost a bit, then took 14 weeks to get to just over 10lbs. So long as baby girl seems healthy and happy, wees and poos I'd follow your instincts, especially if your other daughter was dinky too. Some folk are just smaller than others, no harm in it

I can't abide all this stressing about babies' weight. The average (mean) weight means that half of all babies will be smaller and half will be bigger. It isn't the ideal weight...
If your babies are happy, healthy, feed and sleep well and produce lots of poopy and wet nappies then all is more than likely well.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

She was 7lb 7,lost a few and started off really well, she just seems to have plateaued. She does seem healthy, nothing wrong with her lungs anyway, judging by the rest of the day's noise levels!0 -
I did get the results back Mel, but there is a problem with them and I've appealed.
The final grading affects my degree classification so it's quite important that I get the correct grade.
Ah right.....I vaguely remember reading you posting this now!
Did they say how long the appeal would take?
I was thinking about you (in a non-weird stalker type way) Because I have been wondering when to jump back into studying myself, and was thinking, you have never really mentioned if you are going to 'use' your degree...career wise I mean...have you any plans to?Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
