I very rarely go on the bus (£1.70 to do 1.5 miles from town to home), Katie loves it though it's her favourite treat.
Jade - Katie was a pudding baby too, if he's happy don't worry.
Jabs - Katie was ok with the first 2 but the 3rd lot really took it out of her, she didn't want me to leave her side for 24 hours.
FB - I just read it when I can, I do my best to keep up with the other groups but I'm not always successful.
My news - fingers crossed but it looks like Katie is dry at night, I've not been lifting her at night for approx 3 weeks now.
Playgroup has also told me that I don't have to pay for her to stay at lunch time as it's covered by her funding from the Government, apart from £1 to cover her hot meals whilst at the temporary playgroup, if they go back to the original building before she leaves I won't have to pay at all.
I am wondering what to do about all the lunches I've paid for already as she was entitled to 15 hours from September.Proud to be dealing with my debts

Weight: It's nice to not feel like the only one who thinks his weight isn't an issue at this stage.
In my head, he's just cuddly - mummy will just need to eat more spinach to build up those arms (I'm only 5'1" and quite small with feeble arms) to carry him. :rotfl:
Jabs: Looks like I'll be joining the Cult of Calpol soon. poor little peeps, so many jabs!
Welcome Jade. I know some people advise to give calpol before peeps has the injections but I think there was some research recently that showed if you do that the vaccines aren't as effective so only give afterwards if necessary. My LO has been fine with all her injections. At the first one I was offered a prescription for liquid paracetamol so got it for use at other times.
Has anyone tried potty training around 15 months? I know it may be a bit early but we often let Erin have a naked run around after her bath and in the last week she has pooed on the floor a couple of times and she seems to know what is happening so it would be really useful if we could just shove her on a potty or shove a potty under her while she does one. Have others tried this? Any recommendations for potties or does it not really matter?Mum to DD born Oct 2009

Jenny Katie started showing signs of being ready at 19/20 months and was out of nappies during the day by her 2nd birthday.
I just put a potty in the living room and whenever she interacted with it praised her and the first time she used it I raised the roof, lots of praise and hugs, we then took it from there. We also developed signs for needing the potty as she didn't have the language skills.
Just take it at her pace, she may do it for a few days then stop again for a while.Proud to be dealing with my debts

Jenny do you have a link about the calpol before vaccines? My HV is great and i pass things onto her all the time which she is very grateful for, i would also be interested in a read.
For all not on the other FB site i have been asking about the HPV vaccine for boys. I watch the BBC3 programme 'how safe is oral sex' and it was talking about the virus causing mouth and throat cancer in men, it has got me thinking about paying for the vaccine for my boys privatley as the government arent carrying this out on them. Would you consider the vaccine for your boys?? does anyone have any further research into this? Bit of an off the topic discussion but it was something i didnt know about until watching the programme and may be worth watching for those who havent already. What's for you won't go past you0 -

Give it a go and see what happens. Heaps of praise if she goes on it but don't make a fuss if she isn't. If she's not ready, put the potty away and try again in a little while. I think potties are all pretty much the same. We never used one and mine just went straight on the toilet. For all not on the other FB site i have been asking about the HPV vaccine for boys. I'm not in the FB group and haven't seen the discussion on this. I've not seen the programme and didn't know it was a risk for boys/men. I know the girls have had the injection as Josh mentioned it, but the boys didn't get it. If anyone has any further information, I'd be interested.
Off to work this morning to do those audits the lady is waiting for. Hoping to get them all done today and can finish off typing them up tomorrow if needs be.
Have a good day everyone xxHere I go again on my own....0 -
Morning!
Caz, it would be interesting if you found some more info. Just for curiosity's sake for me, since I don't have any boys old enough to worry about that yet!
Jenny - anything's worth a try and worst that could happen is she's not interested!
Not much to report here, same ol' same ol' with us. Am debating whether to schedule a Mothercare visit on Sunday, as Finn will need a new carseat soon and we got a load of vouchers for Christmas...they've got several on sale but no idea what sort of stock our local store will have!
top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

Caz - I would be interested in any info you find out...seeing as I have 3 boys!! Not sure I would bother unless I considered it to be a serious risk though.
Becles - I keep forgetting to ask...did you get you final degree results yet, I remember them being delayed, but haven't seen you mention whether you have had it yet x
Not much to report here really, just lots of toothy business going on! T is getting her bottm two teeth and K is getting a very big back molar. J has lost a tooth yesterday and has another one wobbly and L has finally cut his adult top inciser, so that saves a trip to the hospital but he is likely to still need braces...back to orthadontist in a couple of weeks for review.......Like I said, lots of toothy stuff!!!Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
I did get the results back Mel, but there is a problem with them and I've appealed.
I got a poor grade overall for the course and my special circumstances were noted, but they haven't given me any extra credit for them.
When I looked at the results breakdown, I answered the first question when the room was quiet and got a Grade 2 (70-84%) for that question.
The noise started just after I started the second question and I lost my thoughts and couldn't concentrate so I got Grade 4 (40-55%) for the second, third and fourth questions that I answered.
I already had a Grade 2 pass for the coursework, and they gave me a Grade 4 pass for the exam and Grade 4 overall. I've appealed to see if they will look at it again and give me any extra credit considering it wasn't my fault the room was so noisy and I struggled with the rest of the exam.
The final grading affects my degree classification so it's quite important that I get the correct grade. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Thanks for all the potty advice, will have to have a look in the shops at the weekend and Aless, you've just reminded me that now would be a good time to look for a new car seat for Erin as well.
Cazscoob, I haven't got the link to the original research anymore but I found this using google: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/6336370/Children-should-not-be-given-common-painkiller-after-a-vaccine.html The article suggests the research does not fully answer the question but if LO doesn't need the calpol I always era on the side of not giving it.Mum to DD born Oct 2009
