I just skim the FB groups and post on anything relevant.
Thanks SS, GISI ours is the MMR one, he had the other one last month..... cant believe he is 13 months on Thursday!!! Kinda miss him not being a baby but in other ways its funny to watch him developing and copying Henry... he watches his every move!!Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -
jade it doesn't sound like an excessive amount of milk to me, bob has 5-6 oz every 3 hours but is a smaller baby he was only 10lb last time they weighed him. My daughter was always on the 97th centile and is not particularly tall and she was quite chubby as a baby but she is not overweight now as a school girl, I don't think it means they will be when they are bigger just because they are big babies. If he seems content on that amount then I can't see the problem, if he is fussing between feeds then you can try some water. My daughter wouldn't have a dummy either, her suck was too strong and when she sucked it the force made it pop right out.
I think they can be fussy the afternoon of their jabs and sometimes the site of the injection gets a bit red, you can give calpol after vaccinations , my other 2 were never too bad so hopefully this one will be the same.0 -

I thought I'd delurk and join you on this thread.
Was hoping you lovely people over here could let me know if you think this is norm:
Tigger is 9 wks now, colick-y and is on FF on comfort milk. He's a big boy and weighed 12lbs 15oz last Weds from a 6lb 15oz birth weight.
Is this considered overweight on on the way to if he carries on like this? DH seems to think so and even the HV has started to suggest that we start giving water between feeds in case he is just a 'sucky baby' after weeks of telling us to feed on demand. He can easily polish off between 6-7oz each feed ?
Hello :hello: and welcome.
My ds was very similar - he was always on the top centile for weight. I took dd2 to be weighed last week (15 weeks old) and she was 12lb 9oz - I looked back in dd1's red book and she was a similar weight, looked in ds's red book and he weighed that at 6 weeks old  and at 15 weeks he weighed 17lb something.
I think ds was just a big build baby but he never appeared overweight - and he is very slim and tall now at 7 yrs but still very heavy.
Forgot to say - DD2 was taking a similar amount of milk at your sons age and going 3-4 hours. She now has 8oz most feeds and goes 4 hours.
Jabs - ds and dd1 were not really cranky after injections but dd2 was really off it after her first lot, she slept and cried alot but was fine the next day. She wasn't so bad after her 2nd lot, but she has the 3rd ones this week.
Hope all the other lo's having injections are ok.0 -
Hi, Jade. I found Sophie was pretty miserable after her first shots, it upset her sleeping for a few days. The second lot didn't bother her at all, and the third lot bothered her a tiny bit. Just be ready with the baby calpol and cuddles. Hopefully your little man won't be too bothered by it though.
Becles, good to hear you are sticking to your 'me time' resolution! Also, teenagers are generally quite hideous in terms of what they say to their mum. I'm sure he does appreciate what you for him, just horrible hormonal teenage-ness manifests itself in flouncy strops rather than cuddles.

Hello all
Welcome JadeI really wouldn't worry about your LO's weight, T has always taken big feeds and feels heavy but isn't huge, I'm sure as soon as he is more active the weight will drop off. T is very sucky and refuses soothers, but will sometimes just sucks his hand for comfort.
Received T's Nuby prize today! 4 bottles, teether, 6 spoons and a jingle hippo! Very pleased! The hippo is almost identical to the one on his bouncer that he is always drawn to so his eyes lit up as soon as he saw it!
HV phoned saying she is coming over tomorrowI know I shouldn't worry but I really must get the house looking more presentable!

GISI, my MIL/SIL do that obsessively...I am tempted to untag as most of the time they are very unflattering photos of me *rolleyes*.
Hi Jade! Our first jabs didn't bother Finn at all, but the 2nd ones really threw him. Good luck and welcome to the thread!! Also, don't worry too much about percentiles...I know some babies on here were born in the top centile and are still healthy but down in the 5th! As long as they act fine and have plenty of wet nappies, I wouldn't stress.
Speaking of nappies, I think Finn knows when DH is home all day...today's he already had 5 poos :rotfl:. I'm suspecting teeth!top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
would like to win a holiday, please!!
:xmassmile Mummy to Finn - 12/09; Micah - 08/12! :j0 -
Nice prize for lovely T Kitkat
Was OH Birthday yesterday. And the T-shirt I ordered from USC is too small. I'm sure i ordered a medium, but they sent a small. So will have to return for an exchange. Sigh! But i did also get a Diesel Fuel for Life aftershave giftset reduced to £19 from £29 in Boots for him too.
Joes Judo lesson has been moved from 6pm-7.15pm to 7-15pm-8.30pm, as there aren't many attending the early session. I do think it's a little late for him, but will have to see how it goes. Only thing is Tuesdays was the one night OH sorted Alex out. He walked in at 6 and we walked out the door and the majority of the time, Alex was in bed, having been fed and changed by OH. Now, no doubt i'll do it and have to feed us all before I take Joe. Tuesday night used to be chippy tea night too after Judo.
Nothing much else to report. Ironing still not done, but I've spent time today trying to work out child care costs up to the summer holidays.
In April Joe will spend a total of 7 days in school, due to Easter holidays, and 3 bank holidays and one inset day. What's that about?
Child minder costs will be huge! So i need to start setting money aside to cover more expensive times, instead of trying to cope paying it all out at the time and being skint as usual.0 -

My advice is to throw the weight charts in the bin
My first was weighed sporadically, and my second and third hardly got weighed at all. I just fed them when they were hungry and didn't worry about their weight. I've no idea what they had oz wise as they were all breast fed, so you don't know how much milk they are taking per feed.
All of mine went through phases where they went really chubby, then grew and went long and skinny, then went chubby, then long and skinny and so on.
Bowel is playing up, so I lay in bed and read a book this morning. Feel a bit guilty for wasting time, but I enjoyed it
Got some work for tomorrow now. A lady contacted me asking for results of work I should have done in December. However I didn't get her original email so knew nothing about it. Rushing out to get it done tomorrow and possibly Thursday depending on how the time goes. Here I go again on my own....0 -

oh no delain not good and I think i'll be joining you in a bit - it is not looking good for the school run.
I just tried bobby in the baby swing again - we tried before and he screamed, ds loved it. Anyway I thought since he seems less grumpy lately and more content I'd try again and he was happy then gave a little winge and is now dozing on and off so I think its a success. DS was a summer baby and I used to put it out in the garden with him in, hopefully bobby won't be too big for it in the summer and he can go outside and watch the other 2 playing.0
