Sorry to hear some of you are having bad mondays. Weather is carp here too
JJ and I have a really bad cough. It is really dry and he sounds like he is straining when he tries to cough. He is only 7 weeks old and I've taken him to the doc who said theres nothing they can do cos he is so young. Does anyone have any advice? He;s had it for over a week now.
I keep a bowl of water next to the radiators to keep the air humid. He doesnt seem to be in pain with it but it sounds so pitiful and breaks my heart the poor little mite. I know there'll be a lot more coughs and colds to come.0 -
Afternoon ladies!!
Well today is dh's first day back at work after having his 2 weeks paternity leaveSo i had to make sure that i got everything ready last night-school uniform, football kit, packed lunch etc just in case Max didn't co-operate this morning :rotfl:
Kids were at school on time, clean, fed and watered so thats a plus! Although this morning i did have a quick tidy up and hoover round as the health visitor was due at 9.30, which is when i get back, and i wouldn't have time to get anything else done otherwise!
Anyway HV didn't get here till 10.30  not happy as I had to leave at 11 to go to a meeting with the reception teacher at school about ds2 who will be starting in sept.
She did the hearing test (which was fine) and weighed him-he's gone from 6lb 8oz last tues to 7lb 6oz today-and is now 6oz over his birth weight at only 16 days old, so i'm a happy mummy :T
Makes all the hard work of breastfeeding feel worth it-I was close to giving up at the weekend, when it seemed like he was attached to me ALLLL the time, but I suppose he was having a little growth spurt!
Just chilling with ds2 while Max sleeps, then to wake him to give him a quick feed before going to get ds1 from his after school football club (he didn't want a top-up this morning and so screamed the whole way top school) hopefully I can convince him he wants some so he will at least be happy and settled! x

The problem with books is Dusty.. is not finding time to read them it is getting the baby to read them that is the problem.. they are happier eating the books but do not properly digest the words so tend not to understand what they are supposed to do!
Re bathing.. until DD2 was about 3 we used to have to swaddled her in a towel and pin her arms to her sides and one of us hold her and the other wash her hair.. we would hen pu her in the bath eventually and try not to break any limbs in the process and one would hold her in the bath while the other bathed her in about 10 seconds.. if you let go she would bounce out of the bath she wouldn't sit in it she absolutely hated it.. she is 13 now and still hates a bath. We resorted to baby wipe baths! I thought she might have rabies she was so bad with water!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Beccles thanks for the advice on my cardigan, I suspected as much, oh well I'll buy some dye and see if it works. MV, we had her BCG done at 4 weeks, 2 days does seem a bit extreme - I think they do them in special centres as it was at a separate venue to her other jabs. While we were on holiday the jab site blistered up and now there's an ugly mark, poor thing scarred for life already. We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0

BCG jab....do all babies get this?? Lotties not had one and I don't recall anyone ever mentioning it at her routine jabs or other appointments and now I'm confused:o1.11.09 - debt = £45k:eek:

dusty - L hated the bath too when we used the baby bath but once we put him in the big bath in the bath seat (about 4-6 weeks, can't really remember, we hardly bathed him at all for the first few weeks as he hated it) he loved it. I'd say it's one of my top baby buys, it's one like this i think he felt safer in it. he's in the big bath with a mat now he can sit up better.
will reply to more later but need to do his tea, he's only had one nap of an hour today so i think an early bed would be good!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
