hi,
my first time over in this scary place lol :rotfl: Although I do recognise a couple of you from the pregnancy threads!
For those who dont know me, theres me, DH, DS1 (8) and DS2 (3) and bump due in 9 weeks
Can I just ask those of you who have 'bedwetters' how old they are?? DS1 has been wetting the bed everynight for about 10 days now-i'm 99% sure it is because he has a bit of a cough and cold as that is the only time he usually would wet the bed, but even then it would only be 1 or 2 nights, then back to normal. I'm convinced it's because of his freakishly large tonsils-he snores soo loud and he 'stops' every now and again then like gasps back for breath, so i think maybe he has a bit of sleep apnoea (Sp?) But i think when he's run down it makes it worse so his sleep is disturbed, then he goes into such a deep sleep that he doesn't wake up if he needs the loo-he doesn't even wake up when he wets the bed-he only knows when he gets up in the morning. And if left to his own devices he would sleep until about 9.30/10 every morning, and I can only wake him by giving him a really hard shake and shouting his name as nothing else works (which does make me feel really mean, but i'd be there a month of sundays trying to 'gently rouse' him lol)
Think a trip to the dr's is called for this week-all i ever get told is that as he gets bigger his tonsils will get smaller but so far they're not!!
Anyway, i'm sure you will be seeing more of me!!! x0 -
if you're concerned he stops breathing then yes docs. Apnoea can be fatal and a tonsilectomy isn't.

My daughter still wets at 10.5 ... every night.. she is on 2 lots of medication and no better.
If he is snotty his adenoids are probably also enlarged which makes snoring more likely and esp if he sniffs a lot. take him to docs and ask for referral to ENT for a second opinion because it is disturbing DS's sleep with the apnoea and bedwetting.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Thanks for the replies!
I will ring tomorrow for an appointment-if anything his snoring etc is getting worse, and he is tired-he's such a grumpy little so and so at the minute which is obviously tiredness-he gets the 'tired' look in his eyes! and he hates the bedwetting-we've never made a big deal when he does it, and i make sure he knows where he has spare pants etc as he likes to sort himself out. I have got him some of those dry nights pants, and although he wasn't to keen to wear them at first, now he would prefer to wear them that wet in the bed, although whether he wears them is up to him-he has a waterproof matress protector and we always get him up to go to the toilet when we go to bed (although he still wets)
It's just really frustrating, and i'm not frustrated with him, but just the situation if that makes sense-right now the poor thing looks so tired and worn out where he's been coughingand when he's tired he also seems to find a bit more attitude which just makes it even better!!!

Hello... do any of you lovely peeps know where is the best place to sell re-usable nappies? I think I'd like to sell some of my existing bumgenius v4 (fab) stash to try new ones (Flip). Can't really justify getting new ones without getting rid of some first.
Not mention I'm getting lazy with the stuffing of the pockets and the other ones sound ideal... hmm0 -

Pigpen - I have a little one like that tonight. She had a very messy nappy earlier and has had a temperature. Calpol'd her up and she was asleep within seconds.
She's had a rough few nights over the last week too, so fingers crossed all little one's let us have a better nights sleep tonight.
Welcome madnessandmayhem - look forward to "seeing" more of you over here.
Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend.0 -
Hi madnessandmayhem. I'd definitely recommend getting him checked out with ENT.
I'm currently suffering from a sinus problem and have breathing and snoring problems. I don't sleep well because of it and the tiredness is making me ratty. When I do sleep, I go into a really deep sleep and no matter how many times my husband kicks me and shakes me to stop the snoring, I just won't move at all. I'm wondering if he's in a really deep sleep like that, that may be when he's wetting and doesn't realise it.
Went to the match today and we played some really poor football and got beat 2-0, so I'm not a happy bunny tonightHere I go again on my own....0 -
Hi everyone :hello:
I've read back a bit and noticed that my reply to madnessandmayhem seems blunt and a bit rude, I'm sorry, it wasn't meant that way I had had a bad day, which I realise is no excuseBut it's nice to see you here, please don't let my rudeness put you off staying
I'm so glad school is back today, so, so glad. I had the weekend from hell.
Now I've got a happy little Squeak sat on my knee, the sun is shining and there are things to domaybe we might get as far as feeding the ducks if I get it all done lol.
Ihope you feel better today Becles, and that Pigpen's Squeak is being good and letting mummy sleepMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o
