HI SJP :) I found that DH going back to work made a huge difference - we could get into a proper routine and start gong to groups and things.

Kitkat - I'm glad it went well for you. I was surprised it came back to me so quickly when I went back to work - I spend the first day getting computer loggins and things sorted out again, then on my second day I was listening to calls, then ended up jumping on and taking them by lunchtime because there were calls queuing. The only thing I found tricky was that there were some redundancies while I was away, and a few teams had merged, so if there was something I would have asked of a team that didn't exist any more then I didn't know where to go instead. But yes, it has to be a very busy day at work for me to not feel like it has been a nice restful day :) And it is nice to remember that you can be a grown-up in your own right :)

    Hi SJP, welcome!!

Am I the only one who feels like going back to work has been MORE work then?? Lol...I hate rushing around to get ready in the mornings, rushing to CMs, rushing to get home, rushrushrush! No time to do housework, too tired in the evening to do anything, etc. Meh, I'm just not a career woman :p.

Hi SJP :j I remember you from the PG thread, where I still sometimes lurk.

Congrats and hugs as required for the busy bees starting work :T

and congrats to Pigpen on baby number ten :D

Our house hunt drama continues, have seen a house in a place I'd love to live (I'll admit an odd location in the loop between the slip road and a major dual carriageway lol) but it's a 2 bed, looks huge, says has 2 reception rooms so gonna go see what size they are and if the LL would be happy to have 6 people use it as a 3 bed. Im nuts :o

Nice to see you Kitkat, can't quite believe Squeaks is 6 months either

    *fingers in eyes*

I have no idea what you are on about i'm sure

Squeak was 7 months yesterday.. where does the time go???

She won't feed herself anything and struggles to get food or toys to her mouth when playing.. when she can she won't ever stop eating!!

She won't have a bottle or beaker so I don't feel she gets enough fluids.. she only has 3 feeds a day now so we are persevering with that one.

She is in 9-12 month clothes.. and I can't afford to keep replacing outgrown stuff so she lives in sleepsuits!

She started sitting a couple of days ago she is a bit unstable but getting the hang of it very quickly and she says mumumum to me and noone else and 'no' with vigourous headshaking.. she has just about got 'hello' down as well :D he can clap handies too... and those infernal teeth are still just not quite through the gum... and of course are driving her mad.

Best go deal with her stink and get her breakfast sorted.

See my Squeak (OH calls her that, it caught on) has 4 teeth now. Everything goes in her mouth though, and she'll grab the spoon from you when you feed her and shove it in her mouth herself (usually after she's turned it upside down and dropped the food on herself but she tries :p)

The latest thing is cucumber slices :o

    Yay for sitting :T :T

Squeak isn't sitting yet but she has figured out she can roll across the floor now.

Oh and yay for mumum :D Think Squeak attempted daddy the other day but hasn't since so I might be crediting her with more ability than she's got :rotfl:

Well another sleepless night in our household. Sofia woke up at around 2.30am after sleeping 5 hours straight and I thought this is either gonna be easy getting her back over or a complete mission. Cue the latter, we were still all awake at 6am :( I know its not her fault, but I cant help feeling frustrated and just long to get a wee bit more sleep, of course thats impossible as I feel that I should be doing something during the day other than lying sleeping and I cant sleep up in my bed during the day so find myself cat napping on the couch, which I think is frustrating Mr Shark as he thinks that I should be sleeping more, but I cant seem to relax. Oh well another day.
Not gonna be doing much today - mostly housework and trying to tackle the massive pile of ironing that is waiting for me. Tomorrow if the weather holds up we are gonna head out for a couple of hours and get S out in the fresh air.

S is just coming up on 3 weeks old and she is pulling her head right up now and the other night whilst I was holding her it felt like she was pushing her legs up to try and stand up! This is new to me so not sure if this is normal at this stage or not ??? I dont want her to hurt herself.

Hope everyone has a nice Saturday.

Mine grabs the spoon and throws it on the floor, or pokes it in her eye or waves it manically. She hates daddy, he isn't even allowed to look at her at the moment and he always fed her but she won't eat for him now either.

She can roll too.. but hates being on her front so screams.

Mines been Squeak since I was 7 weeks pregnant lol

Some babies just really like to be upright and held 'standing'. She's just keen, lol! Also, they like to test all their new muscles and just general experiment with their bodies. :D

Don't be doing too much, hon! Ironing and housework can wait - catching up on sleep is MUCH more important. Even if you can't 'sleep
exactly, just resting is helpful too.

The best you can do when she wakes up at night is keep everything very dark and quiet no matter what (and DO NOT make a fuss) so she learns that it's still sleeptime rather than wake-up time.

Thanks Aless - I done most of my housework this morning and just left the ironing (can be done another day) so I actually had a 4 hour sleep in my bed this afternoon and I feel so much better for it :) Poor DH though he said the minute I left the room S woke up and just wouldnt settle so he was pretty stressed when I came back down the stairs.lol. She is now fast asleep but not holding out that she will sleep for long.
At night I have been doing what you said - everything quiet and dark and I change her nappy in the dark as well, but she is still bright as a button. Guess I need to keep reminding myself that she is only 3 weeks old and it all takes time.
