Leopardlady wrote: »Hi everyone, struggling a lot at the moment. William is a wonderful boy who is 3 months old today
But he has not slept through for a while now, with a number of the most recent nights being him screaming at least every hour. I am at the end of my tether and find myself crying and wanting to cry at least 5 times a day. Can anyone tell me if i should be seeking help or is this just tiredness taking its toll. I am not asking for any medical advice, just do you think i should go and see my doctor?
On a good note, i tried my first real nappy today and am quite excited about cutting down our waste.
Are you BF? If not get your OH to take over and sleep in a different room just for one night. Things will look so much better after a night's sleep
Make an appointment with the doctor as well, they do like to be informed. It does seem like tiredness to me, sometimes you feel like you will never ever sleep again and the world is crashing down around you!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Good luck with the interviews xx
I've got one tomorrow too for a new agency.
Leopardlady - I would go and get checked out just to be on the safe side.
I second trying to get a good night's sleep if OH is willing. If you are BF'ing, you could try expressing but I know not everyone can get the hang of that. I couldn't
Someone else on here suggests a day in bed. Basically the pair of you just stay in bed and feed and sleep all day. That sounds marvelous and I wish I'd thought of it when I had mine.
Hope you get some sleep soon xxHere I go again on my own....0 -
Morning
Hope Finn is ok Aless. None of mine were really sick with the chicken pox. I can't recall them having a fever and they were still as energetic as normal, just covered in spots!
James has gone off with his cakes to sell at school this morning. He's a right little Alan Sugar! He buys sweets and lollies on special offer in the shop by the bus stop on a morning, and sells them on at profit to classmates. Last week he was investigating buying packets of biscuits and selling individual custard creams and stuff.
It's a bit naughty as he'll get told off if he's caught, but I can't knock his entrepreneurism
Hope everyone has a lovely day xx
DS1 does this do we have the same son lol. He also spends the proceeds on junk as he knows I wouldn't buy it. I esp hate those awful junky lucosade (SP) type drinks!!Metranil_Vavin wrote: »Hello gang.
Just popping in quickly to say hi, hope everyone is well?
I took Josh to be weighed yesterday as the last time he was weighed by the midwife was 2 weeks ago..he was 8lb 4oz. He is now 10lbs 7oz!!!
So that helps put my mind at rest that I am not feeding him enough! :rotfl:
I am starting a baby massage course today with the other girls from my NCT group. I've heard it can be good for baby's digestion/sleeping etc, so worth a go!
Josh is a real grunter at night! I'm hoping the massage may help calm his digestion a bit as he seems to spend a lot of time straining away.
MV I did baby massage with ds2 and it's great - seems to make them really relaxed and much better sleepers. Def. good for a sluggish digestion too - they often poo not long after (or do a mega windy pops lol)MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -
evening all
MV glad things are going well with breastfeeding etc x
Claire good luck for the interviews x
Aless my DD was not sick with her chicken pox either nor itchy, just had to be kept off school followed by the your child has had too much time off school letter - numptys! Apparently if they have something like chicken pox they are not allowed to also get a cold or flu for the rest of the school year. Actually mini rant I had letters home about how both had had too much time off school at christmas then the first day back after the christmas hols they came home with certificates congratulating them on their fantastic attendance seriously tut.
Delain hope squeak figures it out soon and saves her head ouch lol I am worried a bit about this as we have laminate in the lounge now whereas the other two had nice soft carpet to roll around on, Bob is gonna be covered in bruises once he starts moving about.
Leopardlady bob hasn't slept through at all yet and I think he is still young for it but every hour would be really tough. I struggle with the once a night feed, although I'd find it easier if I went to bed at 6:30 with the baby and then when he gets up around 2am I'd have had a nice sleep - can't quite bring myself to go to bed that early though. Hope little one settles down a bit soon x
Bob had his second lot of vaccinations this week, he seems completely unaffected by them. OH took him and he was asleep when he got there and wouldn't wake so she did it and he screamed, she did the other one whilst he was screaming then he promptly fell back to sleep on the way home. I didn't take him to baby group in the afternoon just incase but he was fine. HV is coming on fri for his 3-4 month check. I did have loads of questions for her but I've forgotten them all so can't have been that important.0 -
Thanks guys, i am not BF solely as he is too hungry and i have never had enough, and now he has rejected me apart from once at night and maybe in the morning. William has moved to his own room as he is happiest in there, so we already sleep in a seperate room to him, my issue is that even when my OH takes over i can't sleep because every noise William makes wakes me. It is harder as he was sleeping for at least 6 hours and then 3-4, so it was quite good as we all got at least 4 hours sleep. But this week and a half has been really hard. He either wants food every 3 hours or he just needed soothing every hour last night. The main problem for me is that i have woken up crying and it has made giving William a smile in the morning very difficult which then makes me feel even more useless. Oh well i will make an appointment to see the doctor.
My HV does not visit any more, only saw her twice, we now go to a clinic and they weigh him and then ask questions in the middle of the hall. Not heard of a 3/4 month check. William is growing well and is very happy, so the day is easier, giggling and smiling make me feel a lot better, until 4pm when i lose all energy and have to wait around 3 hours until OH gets home.
I am going to go to Bath for the day next week, well half the day and OH is looking after William, so will see how that goes. Thanks again, i love him so much, but just feel that i am not doing well enough for him, especially when all i want to do is cry.
Take care all.Leopardlady

leopard lady I think there is another growth spurt around this age too. Bobs is certainly hungrier lately and has now moved to hungry baby milk because I didn't want to go back to feeding him every 2 hours. The 6-8 week growth spurt was hell but I think this one isn't as bad, fingers crossed. You are doing fine, just tired and thats understandable. My OH did a few nights but in the end I didn't bother waking him because I was awake anyway. The best thing about it being third time round is you remember that it does get better even when it doesn't feel like it will.
Different areas do different HV check ups so don't feel you're missing out but remember they are there if you do have questions. I'm lucky I like mine, she is very down to earth. Oh remember some of my questions now must write them down before I forget again. Mostly about development as it seems slow to me but this could be because he was a little early, will see what she says.0 -
Claire, I hope the interviews go well today, good luck Becles for yours as well.
LL - I second the thing about the growth spurt, I'm sure F had one at about that age. Hope the visit to Bath goes well.
MV - Hope baby massage is a success.
Delain, we ent through the head bumping stage, but it did pass quickly thankfully
Well, back to work today, my mum going to look after F today, so hope he's good for her!Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky'

*hugs* Leopardlady...I hate to say, but unfortunately that can be totally normal behaviour
. Have you tried any sleep techniques like Baby Whisperer or similar? How are his naps?
Not much to report here! Finn's still really spotty but is cheerful. DH is loving the extra time home with him, so it's all worked out okay.

Morning
The day in Bath sounds good leopardlady. Sometimes it does you good just getting out and just being you for a change. That's why I like boot camp as I'm known as me, rather than "so and so's Mam," and we tend to have adult conversations about stuff on TV, places people are going to and stuff like that, rather than talking about children.
Quiet day at home here. Still full of cold and Josh is off as he feels sick. He's currently watching Soccer AM with Charlotte. She thinks he's just stopped off to keep her company
Hope everyone has a good day xxHere I go again on my own....0 -
