Both of mine have had sudocreme... Aimee decorated the navy blue sofa with it, that was fun to wash out! Caitlyn was thankfully confined to her cot when she got it...

I thought I was a bit OTT having the need to Dyson the house when we got the keys this morning but I'm glad we did cos it needed it!! It's all cold and a bit smelly but the garden seems to of grown since the last time we saw it!!:rotfl:

I got the keys for mine the day before I moved in, so I popped in to put some flooring down in the utility room. The previous people had a puppy so all the carpet tiles were either chewed or wee stained - yuk!

The house was freezing cold and smelled musty as it had stood empty from December to March.

Once I got the electric on the next day and got it warmed up and my furniture in, it felt much better.

When are you properly moving in?

Did you take a picture of Charlotte in her make-up Becles? I bet it was hard not to laugh.

No I didn't take a picture but I wish I had now! I think I was more amazed than anything as she'd done such a fantastic job :D

Worst decorating I've had was Josh and poo! He had awful nappy rash when he was about a year old, so the HV told me to pop him down for his nap on a folded towel with a bare bum to let the air get round it.

I thought I heard him moving around so went upstairs and he'd had the biggest poo ever, then proceeded to smear it all over himself, up the wall and all over the cot bars

Interview went really well. The lady was lovely and she was really keen to hear the work I've done for other agencies. She got more people to see and will ring me on Friday and let me know.
Here I go again on my own....

becles yuck, I was always afraid of this as DD had a habit of taking her nappy off. Our worst was sudocrem and the tester pot at that but I've also had a mascara covered mirror.

Right so I'm hearing so many good things about jumperoos - are they really worth it or will a door bouncer do? I have a door bouncer already that the other 2 loved and I know there are other things, music etc with the jumperoo but is it really worth all that money.

Merfe... Jumperoo:j:j:j:j:j:rotfl:Daisy has been in hers from about 9 weeks ish and loved it from day 1! Mummy loves it too;):D

Becles... probably "properly" moving in on Mon as thats when we have men and a van moving the furniture plus DH needs internet for work and thats being done on Tues. But if they happen to cut off internet early before then we might move in and sleep on the floor!

It's a lot less stressful just taking car load of boxes over a few days rather than doing it all in one day:)

Yes Merfe... Totally worth it!! (Especially if you can get one second hand and flog it on for the same kind of price...)

thanks have you tried both and prefer the jumperoo? There are loads on ebay and I've seen a few on netmums but still really pricey compared to my door bouncer sat in the cupboard, however I would do anything to cheer the little man up in the evenings, plus the only doorway we have now means he wouldn't see me easily so the jumperoo is more flexible in where it could go.

Had door bouncer for DS in the "old" days when no such thing as a Jumperoo and I personally think a jumperoo is sooo much better BUT it does take up a lot of space.:)

thanks smartie, well space we have and I guess we can take it in the garden in the summer too - I think Bob would still be in it then. I shall keep an eye on the couple of closest ebay listings.

Good luck with the moving, its stressful but once you are all in with your stuff and the manic cleaning is done its so worth it.

Next question - we are going to stay at my dads in april in scilly, when I took DD as a baby I'm sure he had a steriliser so I didn't need to take mine but this time I doubt he'll have it (I think it was borrowed from a friend and was 6 years ago). Would you take your full size steam steriliser or is it worth buying a microwave one? I'm concerned about it getting broken, esp in the ferry container but I have never used a microwave one. We are also going to Ireland in July/aug time and I should imagine I'll still be sterilising then so would need something then too so could use the microwave one again if I got one.

The microwave ones are pretty good just check that the person you're staying with doesn't have a dinky microwave :)

We used our door bouncer upstairs for a while, jumperoo downstairs...

And what about cold water sterilising? All you need is a plastic box / bag and some milton...
