Mel would feeding T a little earlier help? she sounds exactly like Erin if i dont have dinner ready when she 'needs' it. would the boys keep her amused for a bit whilst you managed to finish off?? or have her in the high chair eating?
Hi to newbies and i cannot add anything to he advise the lovely ladies have already left you!
SS at that age a child needs to be shown how to play with other children and included in the activities not left to get on with it. i feel she should have had someone stick close to her and show her the various toys and games and include her with the others. This is the problem i am having with Charlie, he will wait until someone leaves an activity before going near it and if anyone else approaches he will step back and let them take over. He never initiates the play with other children and the staff dont seem to realise that they need to help him with this. At Leven they had a lot of 1 on 1 and he was involved when others were playing and managed just fine, he needs the support to hsow him he can do it. At home he isnt as bad but its always Erin that initiates the play never him? Is there anything else nearby? What's for you won't go past you0 -
I took Miss M to her first time at a nursery/daycare yesterday, it was a local collective sort of deal where costs are minimal in exchange for parental skills exchanged between parents. It's quite popular and even getting a trial day is a bit difficult, but I'm not sure it was for us.
They didn't know we were coming because the person who ran it was sick and so the three minding ladies were there without guidance and so they were just sort of relaxed about, come in, shoes off, this is what we do, whatever, you can stay and watch till you feel comfortable leaving. All three ladies have their own kids there, and each always had half an eye on their kids - so their attention was always a bit distracted. One of the biggest kids knocked Miss M over and they dealt with it quite well and that was encouraging, but when he did it to another LO a while later someone else dealt with it much differently so it wasn't consistent. And when he did it a third time when his mum came to collect him it was different again.
Also, two of them settled down on the cushions to read to different groups of kids but neither one of them invited Miss M to join them, so she was sort of observing from outside and obviously wanted to join in but didn't feel comfortable just walking over there - but neither of them saw that
The things that really bothered me were first that they were using the same tissue to wipe different kids' noses _pale_ and eventually I left Miss M for an hour to see how she was without me, and when I went back to collect her she was sitting on the couch by herself looking so sad it almost broke my heart. But she couldn't climb onto the couch (she'd been trying while I was still there but it was too high) so she'd obviously been put there and left while they were paying attention to the other kids and I had no way of knowing how long she'd been there but I'd been at the door for a couple of minutes waiting for them to unlock the door and didn't see her among the other kids so it had obviously been a while
So the collective-organiser is going to call me next week and I'll tell her it's not for us. And if she asks I'll tell her why.
No, thats not right. Just no. Just.... no.
My nursery would never leave a child on a couch on their own. If they were upset or sad someone would be sitting with them.

Well I've had an eventful few days. I broke out in a hideous, itchy rash 2 days ago..it was hellish, so bad in fact that Thursday morning at around 4am I woke OH and said he may have to take me down to A&E.
Turns out I have had an allergic reaction to penicillin.
Take care. I used to have penicillin with no problems. I got it once when I was 17 for a dental infection and went into anapylactic shock. I had it again a few years ago by accident and the same thing happened. Both were 999 jobs. Make sure you never have penicillin again as it could be a worse reaction next time.
Hope I haven't scared you and hope you feel better soon xx
Was laughing at Charlotte earlier. Took her up for a shower but James was at the toilet. She ran in, turned the light off and left him sitting in the dark while she ran off giggling hysterically. What a minx :rotfl:Here I go again on my own....0 -
MV sorry you've had such a torrid few days, I can't imagine being ill on top of everything else right now. I still feel hit for six from the birth itself.
I'm afraid I'm coming on here to have a moan too - LO has had just two hours sleep since 6.30 am today. I got one of those weekly emails today saying baby should be sleeping 16-17 hours at the moment - if I could get even half of that I would be happy. Where is this child getting the energy to cry and scream all day on two hours sleep. We decided to get take out tonight as both of us are too exhausted to cook, but now OH's has gone cold cos he's pacing the bedroom rocking her. We're just at sea knowing what to do to rectify things. We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -

That's exactly it, I felt like she was just expected to figure it all out for herself and when she was a problem they almost put her on a shelf out of the wayThanks ladies, I was worried I was overreacting - but I don't think I am, it's not that I want to keep her at home away from all the other kids forEVERANDEVER. I just ... when we come out of the underground and we're in the square where Gymboree is she runs on the spot with sheer excitement. I want her to feel that way about all her stuff, and she does with her babysitter too. There must be a nursery that has the same effect.
Caz, have you spoken to the people at Charlie's new nursery?Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Morning all! Other than lots of snot and a bit of spluttering, Finn seems to be past the sickness, so I'm happy NOT to have a miserable baby over the weekend, yay!
Tried to resist the pull of cooking a bacon sarnie for breakfast, but failed as the bacon is now cooking. Mmmmmmm. Bacon.
What's everyone up to today? Not much here, just a trip to the post office and Aldi for some fruit/eggs. Then a bit of baking!top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
would like to win a holiday, please!!

Ooooooh yummy bacon
Today and tomorrow mostly what I'll be doing is wrangling my Enormous To Do List. I'm trying to put things in order and as always being dreadfully hindered by my pair of messy messers. I just asked Husband to sort out a bag of stuff he brought home from the office and left on the floor; he's hung it over the back of his chair and declared it dealt with :rolls eyes:

Hi new mummies and babies:)
Someone please tell my daughter that sleep is a really cool thing to do!!:rotfl:
Make-it-3 ... I hate to say Daisy is very nearly 5 months () and survives on approx 6 hours sleep a day. That includes day time naps which she now fights with all her power:mad: Last night she was wide awake by 2.30/3am... which is actually a slight improvement:j
SS... I bet theres a top secret nursery that is super duper hiding away that will be ideal for M;)
Oh no MV:( I too became allergic to it as well and ended up in hospital. I still get docs trying to prescribe it!!!BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -
Got a lovely surprise this morning. Postman came with £100 in Marks and Spencer vouchers that I won in a competition :j
Parents rang. They got to Goa safely and it's lovely and warm there. They've been on the beach today, then went back to the apartment. Dad put the TV on and managed to get the Sunderland match on Indian TV
It was my friend from boot camp's funeral today. She was 31 and had an blood clot that nobody knew was there, and suddenly it just moved into her heart and killed her. Scary thing to happen and I'll miss herHere I go again on my own....0 -
evening all
becles that is sad about your friend and very scary.
Well I think bob knew I wasn't going to wake him up at 11pm last night and he woke up screaming at 10:30pm. He hadn't woken up for 3 nights and I'd been waking him from fast asleep, just typical. Well I'm going to carry on not waking him and go to bed when I feel like it, before I was staying up and it was making me shattered, went to bed at 9pm last night and I think that extra hour and half made loads of difference.
Been into town today and got loads done, bobby now has passport photos so we need a form to send off. Was nice to get out for the day but I hate town at the weekend it was so crowded.0
