Hello salesshopper, nice to see you back :)

How did the Tshirts in moses baskets go?

    :j toothy Squeak!

I took Miss M to her first time at a nursery/daycare yesterday, it was a local collective sort of deal where costs are minimal in exchange for parental skills exchanged between parents. It's quite popular and even getting a trial day is a bit difficult, but I'm not sure it was for us.

They didn't know we were coming because the person who ran it was sick and so the three minding ladies were there without guidance and so they were just sort of relaxed about, come in, shoes off, this is what we do, whatever, you can stay and watch till you feel comfortable leaving. All three ladies have their own kids there, and each always had half an eye on their kids - so their attention was always a bit distracted. One of the biggest kids knocked Miss M over and they dealt with it quite well and that was encouraging, but when he did it to another LO a while later someone else dealt with it much differently so it wasn't consistent. And when he did it a third time when his mum came to collect him it was different again.

Also, two of them settled down on the cushions to read to different groups of kids but neither one of them invited Miss M to join them, so she was sort of observing from outside and obviously wanted to join in but didn't feel comfortable just walking over there - but neither of them saw that :(

The things that really bothered me were first that they were using the same tissue to wipe different kids' noses _pale_ and eventually I left Miss M for an hour to see how she was without me, and when I went back to collect her she was sitting on the couch by herself looking so sad it almost broke my heart. But she couldn't climb onto the couch (she'd been trying while I was still there but it was too high) so she'd obviously been put there and left while they were paying attention to the other kids and I had no way of knowing how long she'd been there but I'd been at the door for a couple of minutes waiting for them to unlock the door and didn't see her among the other kids so it had obviously been a while :(

So the collective-organiser is going to call me next week and I'll tell her it's not for us. And if she asks I'll tell her why.

I felt the same for a while but now OH is working nights so its really only 2 little uns I need to cook for, the last week they have had, scrambled eggs on toast, beans on toast, cheese on toast, roast on sat and fish fingers and chips with veg. They have plenty of fruit and salad and veg as well so I'm going easy on myself. If I do cook something I normally freeze loads too so if we have spag bol tomorrow we will have loads in the freezer for the next couple of weeks. I figure if they get 2-3 decent meals a week than we are doing ok because I don't need the extra pressure and its not bobs best time of the day. I just cook something proper when OH has his days off.

I find it hard with my two especially when OH works late to 9. The have breakfast, main meal at lunch and then tea of sandwiches/beans on toast about 3.30ish so when we get home at 5.30 they want something else. Normally with OH we would do a meal and they just eat as much as they want but with just the 3 of us I find it hard to cook a 'big' meal as its a waste if you know what I mean.

SS - sorry the nursery wasnt very good - how sad to find Molly just sitting there...maybe try it once more when the collective organiser is there and see if its any different.

    Welcome newbies....

William has very random teeth popping through but we are now up to 12 !!

That is sad about Miss M not being included properly. I'd say try again when the organiser is there. She is probably more skilled at including children and making them feel welcome!

We used Squeak's sleeping bag (more hungry caterpillar :o) and she slept really well! Usually she strirs at between 6 and 6.30 for a bottle then comes in with me to drink it and have a cuddle, mainly just so I can stay in bed till 7 :o

But this morning she was still asleep when my alarm went off and warm as toast :D maybe she had been waking because she was cold.

Oh and typical, I put the nice cosy pram away on a nice day, wake up this morning to wind and rain :rolly eye smiley: the pushchair does have a raincover but it's not a very good fit, think it was a cheapy market job lol. New one is £25  on Kiddicare at it's cheapest so will order that next week.

Twins had an awful morning, moaning crying and shouting. Because of their issues when they get upset they really do get upset :(

Maz yay for thomas bath squirters! My mum has cheapy water pistols that come in packs of 4 from the 99p shop for my lot in the bath.

She assures me they are for the kids and she doesn't play with them when they aren't there :rotfl:

    Morning all

SS that's a real shame Miss M was excluded, she sounds like a little angel though just patiently waiting, good job she's so well behaved.

Delain yay for squeaks tooth! We have another tooth as of last night too although as T is poorly this one has definitely been more noticeable than the others.

T is whinging now, refusing to nap. I am so overtired, T wouldn't go to bed until 11pm, hen up in the night. Put him asleep in his cot 3 tomes and he woke every time. I slept 1 hour then he woke me early. OH slept through it all...

Feeling v sorry for myself today, got T's sinus and chest infection, completely lost my voice and haven't slept well in ages. OH is away 3 weeks this weekend so I doubt I will sleep for some time. Also got charity coming today to collect furniture but I haven't even got it ready as I really feel like I haven't had any baby free time. also having changing unit/ chest if drawers delivered today I bought off eBay. On a more positive note my resized engagement ring has arrived and it's made my day :)

Off back to mr screamy who refuses to nap :( xx
