Hope you feel better soon guns, I know exactly how you feel. Been coughing myself silly half the night & came close to throwing up after this mornings cough-a-thon. Chest hurts, ribs, hurt & stomach feels like I've done a million sit ups. If this keeps up I think I'm in danger of breaking something internally as theres a not a lot to me [as hubby keeps telling me].

Speaking of which, just WI & lost 2.5lb. Not 100% sure thats a true reading as have eaten chinese this week, a huge bowl of rice pud + lemon curd & 4 slices of white bread, spread + more lemon curd yesterday and its * week. I feel a gain coming next week then .

I am struggling to maintain, even people I work with commented on Friday how thin I was [had taken my thick cardie off as was warm]. Personally I don't think I'm too thin but maybe I just can't see it :o. I am now 1.5lb below pre christmas gain.

I'm sorry, you probably don't want to hear all this but I can't talk to hubby as he's made his feelings well and truely plain.
takeiteasy , if you keep feeling ill like this get yourself to the doctors my son was like that last week and it turned out to be swine flu and now my daughter has it and was put straight on tammyflu tablets , take care , drink plenty

Afternoon all! Food plan for today:

B - weetabix and milk (HEA + HEB)
    L - special fried rice
D - fish fingers (6 syns) SW chips and roasted veg
    S - fruit, muller light

Had a pretty rubbish weekend so far (split up with boyf of 3 years on Friday night), but have managed to stay on plan! Very glad I got rid of all the chocolates in the house, or else my willpower would not have been enough.

    Happy weekend all!!:j

Well, Friday was good (despite the 3 choc bics!!), then, well, it was Saturday. Wine, Pizza....... I think there is a hole in Dizzy's tank....;) (

It could be due to the fumes from the dyno rod soup & certain people *we wont name them eh....but you know who you are!* :p:o mixing it with scan bran (always a lethal cocktail ) :rotfl::rotfl:

    Bah humbug

Why is it that I know all the theory but can't put it in to practise???

WHY DO I EAT SUCH RUBBISH????????????????
    a055.gif

Hope this is behind you now and you are on track again. Remember, take it one day at a time, or even one hour if you need to. x
Feeling dreadful, left work early last night - throwing up and a high temperature. Slept for 16 hours and feel rubbish this morning, temp is gone though. Today i'll eat whatever will stay in my stomach:(

    Get well soon xxx a055.gif

Right, well my couple of days off plan are out of the way now, so I'm happily munching on some dyno ish soup for lunch :T I made it the "lazy" way, with a packet of chopped veggies, but something's not quite right, because its quite watery :o maybe I skimped a bit too much on the lentils? I shall have a go at fixing it before I have any more.

My parents took me grocery shopping yesterday. £90 for just me  My cupboards are now full to the brim, all Sw stuff :T I haven't meal planned as such, but I went through a load of old recipes and a book of vegetarian soups, and made sure I have the ingredients to do loads of those things. :T

What made my day yesterday was that my neighbours commented to my housemate that I looked like I had lost weight :j I'm made up, comments like that are really nice to hear! I have no idea if I am much lighter than pre-broken leg, but I'm positive I haven't put on, and feel as if my clothes are a bit looser, so I might have done - fingers crossed eh?

MrsM, I am so proud of you for losing all that weight, and 4lbs this week is fantastic :T I had a scales-related problem a while back, which was very grr  because I thought I was putting on weight, but wasn't worried because my scales said a consistent weight - it fluctuated up and down about 2lbs. I eventually accepted they must be wrong when I grew out of my biggest pair of trousers :o and I was nearly 3 stone over the weight the scales said

Anyhow enough waffle from me, see you soon!

peachyest - How many syns will ultimately depend on just how much you have to loose.

The rules say between 10 and 15 so if you start on 15 then you have something to cut back on when you plateau. If you are already at a low level you will have no wriggle room in your meal planning.

Eventually calories will count. Your basal metabolic rate will change.

A woman who is 5'5" weighing 250lbs aged 40yrs will need 1859 to maintain the current weight so someone who is 5'5" weighing 150lbs aged 40yrs will need 1429.

All a bit teknikul and scientific for this time on a Sunday morning though ;)

Ultimately you will need to cut down on something so why not allow yourself something to cut down on ;)

All of this is subjective though. People have different metabolisms (someone has all of mine!) Some loose quickly and some loose slow. Age and activity levels all factor in so there is no hard and fast rules but if you can loose eating all of your HEa's and b's and syns then go for it ;)

For example - today is our weigh in and DH lost 4 and I lost 2 Both of us have eaten identical foods and I have much more to loose than DH does. Now the fact that men loose faster than women just isn't fair:cool:

Gosh! Don't I waffle on *rolls eyes*

Anyway, the only thing that's bothering me at the mo is portion size ... I really really enjoyed the curry last night IYKWIM ... is it possible to have tooooo much? At the end of the day there was absolutely no fat in it and there was less than 500g of chicken in the whole thing and it fed me, DH and a small portion left over for lunch one day. Does this sound OK? Will I still lose some lard??

Portion size is a moot point - I answered a few posts back about Basal Metabolic Rate and size 'n stuff and it all depends on just how much you have to loose in the first place.

Chefy types say to allow 8oz per person of meat when calculating a recipe so you are not too far off with your curry last night. Maybe next time add less meat and bulk it up with some veggies. Filling up on veggies will speed your weight loss much more than filling up on meat.

I think I read somewhere about a portion of meat being 4oz  Better go out and capture me some spuggies for dinner :rotfl:

Well done on the loss so far but for now -

    Step away from the Scales!

As you have so little to loose then your wriggle room is limited.

Sorry to hear about your Dad - lost mine in 1996 just before Christmas. I still have his presents wrapped up in the loft - just cannot bring myself to do anything with them.

(((big hugs))) to you. Believe me when I say it will get easier but there will be times when you wont believe anything.

Take it easy - have you checked out your BMI? You could be at target already and now going below. I am built like a brick outhouse so am always at the top of the range for my height/age/sex.

Ermm I am at/below target [my sig!] :p, had an mot at Drs recently and BMI is fine. I'm not under weight for my height but am struggling to maintain target. Its just as hard if not harder trying to maintain as it is losing the weight in the 1st place. The easiest thing is putting the damn weight on, now THAT goes on so easy and none of us have trouble with that :rotfl:

Dizzy my feeling under the weather is part n parcel of working with kids :o am always picking up something or other. Had usual blood tests and stuff at Drs and all came back normal so basically I'm fine just usual coughs & colds for this time of year.

Glad to see you're still with us Mrs M and a fantastic 4lb loss too, well done :T:T. Still an amazing overall loss so throw those other scales out.

My lads are at Leicester today watching the Tigers, so got the house [and remote] to myself :D. Prepped my fruit for the week, made a quiche, watched the newest Star Trek DVD [again] and now watching the rugby. Just seen my lads in the crowd am happy now :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm 5'5 too and according to the height/weight chart 9st is the border between healthy and unhealthy weight for that height. It just goes to show the differences between each person. You say you're comfortable at 9st where as I would look skeletal at that weight.

Sorry to hear about your loss, I lost my son 25 years ago & my step dad a couple of years ago, it does get easier but I still have bad days even now. Its hard when we lose the ones we love, my heart goes out to you [[hugs]].
