peachyest - How many syns will ultimately depend on just how much you have to loose.

The rules say between 10 and 15 so if you start on 15 then you have something to cut back on when you plateau. If you are already at a low level you will have no wriggle room in your meal planning.

Eventually calories will count. Your basal metabolic rate will change.
Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is the number of calories your body burns at rest to maintain normal body functions. It is the amount of calories per day your body burns, regardless of exercise. It changes with age, weight, height, gender, diet and exercise habits.

A woman who is 5'5" weighing 250lbs aged 40yrs will need 1859 to maintain the current weight so someone who is 5'5" weighing 150lbs aged 40yrs will need 1429.

All a bit teknikul and scientific for this time on a Sunday morning though ;)

Ultimately you will need to cut down on something so why not allow yourself something to cut down on ;)

All of this is subjective though. People have different metabolisms (someone has all of mine!) Some loose quickly and some loose slow. Age and activity levels all factor in so there is no hard and fast rules but if you can loose eating all of your HEa's and b's and syns then go for it ;)

For example - today is our weigh in and DH lost 4 and I lost 2 Both of us have eaten identical foods and I have much more to loose than DH does. Now the fact that men loose faster than women just isn't fair:cool:

Gosh! Don't I waffle on *rolls eyes*

Feeling dreadful, left work early last night - throwing up and a high temperature. Slept for 16 hours and feel rubbish this morning, temp is gone though. Today i'll eat whatever will stay in my stomach:(

Hope you feel better soon guns, I know exactly how you feel. Been coughing myself silly half the night & came close to throwing up after this mornings cough-a-thon. Chest hurts, ribs, hurt & stomach feels like I've done a million sit ups. If this keeps up I think I'm in danger of breaking something internally as theres a not a lot to me [as hubby keeps telling me].

Speaking of which, just WI & lost 2.5lb. Not 100% sure thats a true reading as have eaten chinese this week, a huge bowl of rice pud + lemon curd & 4 slices of white bread, spread + more lemon curd yesterday and its * week. I feel a gain coming next week then .

I am struggling to maintain, even people I work with commented on Friday how thin I was [had taken my thick cardie off as was warm]. Personally I don't think I'm too thin but maybe I just can't see it :o. I am now 1.5lb below pre christmas gain.

I'm sorry, you probably don't want to hear all this but I can't talk to hubby as he's made his feelings well and truely plain.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

    Good morning all wavey.gif
Sorry I have been mia, its so busy on here I have been reading but as I had nowt interesting to add I kept quiet (not that it normally stops me :p)
Well done on the losses folks :T and hope those feeling poorly are on the mend soon ...

Well -we shall start with the good news - I have lost 4lbs this week bliss.gif (and its * week eek.gif) which means I got my 7.5st shiney party0048.gif..... and THAT is where the good news ends sad0071.gif as I then got out the new set of scales (some of you might remember that I thought my scales were well out -weighing me lighter than I should be) ..... now put down your cuppas folks as I don't want anyone choking.... the new scales weigh me in at 3st9lbs heavier faint2.gif... looking on the bright side Im still over half way there (81lbs to go) and have still lost 107lbs as I had these scales from the start-oooohh and even if my average weekly loss settles at 1lb a week I will still be at target before I go to do the Nepal trek biggrin.gif. My poor hubby was gutted on my behalf when he saw the difference, I think Im taking it better than he is giggle.gif - the more I lost the more I thought my scales were wrong, mainly because I had seen photos on here of other people of "my" weight and they were much smaller -now I know why rotflmao.gif oh and whilst Im looking on the bright side I have a wardrobe full of pretty colthes now -mainly in 18s and some 16s ...so at least I haven't changed sizes tongue.gif..
So then my neighbour is phoning the company that produce the original scales for me and we will take it from there -but they WILL be getting them back -and that is putting it mildly!!!

anyhoo -moving on - I have decided that after a 4lb loss I will give EE another whirl this week wink.gif-here is todays meal plan:-
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • mixed berries
    • activia intensely (2.5)
    • 1/2 grapefruit
    • pork chop with saged onions
    • swede
    • carrots
    • broccoli
    • nobbies
    • 1/2 grapefruit
    • 2 clementines
    • 3 ryvita (B)
    • cheese triangle (2)
    • ham
    • tickled cabbage, beetroot, gherkin
    • tomatoes
    • peppers
    • lychees
    • 250ml semi (6)
    • activia (2.5)
now then -that "little" lot covers my A+B and 13 syns ...
right I will get off and finish my meal plan off... have a lovely day all and keep at it -we are getting there biggrin.gif
