  • Hi All,
Hope you don't mind me crashing your thread.
I'm giving slimming world a go-sort of! I can't get to any local classes at the moment due to work scheduling and don't have the spare £60 to spend online membership wise so am going it alone, can anyone tell me -Do you have to have the Healthy extras or are they optional? Trying to get my head round some of the ideas so i get it right for the first week to continue with success. I tred it last year and didn't do very well with it, my consultant was so uninspiring and i felt more depressed when i left the meeting than anything so figured places like this thread were better to help me along.

  • Lol at the handout comment, blackberry!! :rotfl:

Yep, I've heard that flaxseed is effective. Would you have to syn the capsules though?? Are they oil?? I just remember when I went to class that one lady took codliver oil capsules & had to syn them.

I'll syn 'em or bin 'em, I bought them on a whim but have now googled and having doubts!

Ive been drinking lots of green tea with lemon juice, and just hot water with lemon juice.....I really do think its helping in the old solid poo department :o;)
Noooooo, I tried green tea with my "free" breakfast at the hotel last week. 'Snot for me. Peppermint tea is the only one I'll drink, and that rarely. (just remembered, I don't actually have a poo problem :D )

you MUST have the healthy extras because they are HEALTHY. Go back to page 1 of this thread and see the summary Consultant did, and also go to the Slimming World website where you can get trial menus and quite a bit of explanation without actually being a member of SW. You'll already have some idea from doing it last year. Then you can nip back and ask specific questions and everyone will encourage you and help you along :)

A microwave is all we have at work, I take in a "proper" cooked lunch - meat & vegetables, or a casserole, pasta and sauce, or something spicy - whatever - in a tupperware box and heat it through, it takes about 2.5 minutes. Yummy. Always smells better than what's on offer from the staff kitchen :o)

when you do this I am assuming its left overs from the night before, if you take things from the freezer do you ever cook them from frozen or leave to defrost, i took stir fry the other day left over from the night before but there was still more than i would have had for lunch so I had:o to eat later in the evening would i have been able to freeze one portion do you reckon and made two lunches out of it?

Thanks for help sorry to be a pain but really need to do it this time and looking for all the inspiration i can get

  • Ok, who bought all the bogof Milk Chocolate Fibre Plus bars in Morrison's?! And more worryingly, who bought all the scanbrans in Holland & Barrett?! :naughty: Only 2 battered boxes of FP left on the shelf (loads of the dark chocolate) & zero, zilch, nada scanbrans!! I'm guessing it's everyone on this thread, lurkers or otherwise!! :rotfl:

    Anyway, hello peeps :hello:

Blackberry, what have you read about the flaxseed capsules?? I know you have to be careful with whole linseeds (if you have diverticulitis??) but not heard anything about capsules.

I'm having yet another green day today:

B - 2 chocolate weetabix (HEB + 2), banana, rasps, milk (half HEA)
L - baked spud, beans, 21g light cheese (half HEA), pear
D - Asda chickpea dahl, SW chips, Co-op wholemeal pitta (HEB), 2 clems

Will have another glass of vino tonight for 6 syns, maybe even 2 glasses as I've only had 2 syns so far today?! ;)

Hope everyone's having a good weekend
