..... and THAT is where the good news endsas I then got out the new set of scales (some of you might remember that I thought my scales were well out -weighing me lighter than I should be) ..... now put down your cuppas folks as I don't want anyone choking.... the new scales weigh me in at 3st9lbs heavier
... looking on the bright side Im still over half way there (81lbs to go) and have still lost 107lbs as I had these scales from the start-oooohh and even if my average weekly loss settles at 1lb a week I will still be at target before I go to do the Nepal trek
. My poor hubby was gutted on my behalf when he saw the difference, I think Im taking it better than he is
- the more I lost the more I thought my scales were wrong, mainly because I had seen photos on here of other people of "my" weight and they were much smaller -now I know why
oh and whilst Im looking on the bright side I have a wardrobe full of pretty colthes now -mainly in 18s and some 16s ...so at least I haven't changed sizes
..

MrsM, I am so proud of you for losing all that weight, and 4lbs this week is fantastic :T I had a scales-related problem a while back, which was very grr  because I thought I was putting on weight, but wasn't worried because my scales said a consistent weight - it fluctuated up and down about 2lbs. I eventually accepted they must be wrong when I grew out of my biggest pair of trousersand I was nearly 3 stone over the weight the scales said
Ooooh SS, doesn't it make you feel good when someone comments on your weight loss!?!?!?!Well done!
Now, these faulty scales - are they all electronic ones? I bet they are. I am sooo disillusioned with electronic household equipment, my new-ish washing machine decides for itself what programme it will wash on, regardless of what buttons I press. The new electronic microwave gives me little messages "Open Door" (well, I know I have to do that!) and is far more faff than my previous one. I swapped my electronic scales long ago (pre SW!!) for some regular ones.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

Good evening all
ecky thump it is sooooo cold here today ... although we went out for a walk earlier as I was getting cabin fever... so that hopefully burnt a few cals,,,
Thanks for the lovely comments regarding the scales everyone .... Blackberry -they are indeed didgital -so i can only guess that there is a fault on a connection or something ..they are going back to the manufacturer -they are lucky Im not taking them in person and inserting them somewhere :rotfl: -they were over €50 so i didn't buy cheap although no scales are cheap out here...thats why I put of replacing them even though I suspected they were wrong (just not THAT wrong)
I tend to go for basic washing machines etc as I always figure there is less to go wrong -although I do always have electronic kitchen scales...
oooh and on the yoghurt front I used to have full fat ones for the first few months of SW -8-12 syns a time and worth every one, its only since I found activia intensely that I converted and at 2.5syns a go they are more than worth it...
skintslimmer -Im glad to know Im not the only one who has had scale issues... its a pain in the bum isn't it -but I will survive
Ruby -I love my "world of flavours" SW cook book -some really good recipes in there,,, I have just had the curry one and the Italian one -so I will report back when I have tested some recipes-I do have most of the other cook books although I love adapting recipes from good food etc....
right I had better get off for now...
have a lovely night all!!-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Today is a new day. Have had a cuppa and 2 shape yogs thus far. lunch is likely to be a "brunch" saus, bacon, mushrooms, etc and tea is Roast beef with a ridiculous amount of veggies. And Rice Pud (HM) for pud.
Owl x
OK, so the best laid plans of mice and men and all that..... So, after 2 yogs I had a pack of WW crisps (4) and then lunch turned into chickpea dahl, with added onion, mushroom and leek and carrot with rice (nothing at all like brunch!!:D). Dinner remained the same......;) but whilst waiting for the rice pud to finish in the SC, I had another shape yogurt!!!! (can you OD on yogurt?:)). Well, while dinner was cooking I was hungry so had FF super noodles and 2 scan bran with a scraping of cheese......... (2).
While the cooker was on I whipped up a SW Quiche for lunches next week (bacon - intended for brunch, onion and mush - nom nom). I also cooked the sausages intended for brunch - will have those for brekkie tomorrow, with mush, toms and baked beans (the now infamous Owl take away brekkie) although no scrambled egg cos all my eggs are in the quiche:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:......
I have waffled for the world here - apologies
PS -I also made chutneys today - very Nigella. But I DIDN'T LICK THE SUGARY SPOONS!!!!:T:A:TChildren are born with wings .... Teachers help them to flyOne day your life is going to flash in front of your eyes.... Make sure it's worth watching!!!!!0 -
Talking about all the best plans and all that ...
Today I made 2 SW quiche - one bacon & mushroom and one tuna (with other bits and pieces chucked in). The idea was that at least half of this wouldn't get eaten by the family and taken to work tomorrow for my lunch - I had no idea they would like it so much and only one small slice is left!
So, after tonight's chicken dinner I've got some roast potatoes left and a little bit of carrot ... any ideas to use these leftover ingredients to make something interesting??
Ta,
Ali

It could be due to the fumes from the dyno rod soup & certain people *we wont name them eh....but you know who you are!*
:o mixing it with scan bran (always a lethal cocktail ) :rotfl::rotfl:
I have absolutely no idea who you mean?!:p:rotfl:

I should have kept some cabbage back ... could steam a bit now though ... never had bubble and squeak(!) - how would I make it?
Just read this back - I am not going to get any cook book awards any time soon am I?:rotfl: with those well known culinary terms, squish and spilsh!!:TChildren are born with wings .... Squish all left over veggies together (may need spilsh of milk to "loosen" - but you don't want a wet mixture - like the consistency of mashed spuds). Either put in frying pan and lay out like an omlette, or make "patties" and fry in frylight until crispy - ish and warm. serve with whatever (although gammon goes well!!!)

Thanks Owl! And don't worry about the grammar - you are speaking my kind of language
I wondered whether to follow the first stage you mention and then actually pour an egg over to make a spanish type omlette??0 -
