I always thought haggis was more like steamed, herby mince. Are you estimating 6 because it's not low fat? Well done on your will power over the whole meal:Tsarymclary wrote: »I'm also concerned that I'm not eating enough superfrees... partly because I get confused what is/isn't superfree. Somewhere in my head I got all veg (apart from peas, sweetcorn, parsnips & potatoes) down as being superfree, even though I know now that they aren't.
For a few ideas, what do you guys all have regularly to ensure you're getting your superfrees, particularly if you're doing EE?
I don't think you're far wrong there on your idea of supefree. I had a few problems because I was confusing suprerfree with superspeed (like peas). I've sharpened up my meal plan for the week so I write down the detail of what veggies I'm having with each meal (so instead of just fish&chips I now make a point of writing tomatoes and mushrooms as well). That way I buy all the veggies I need when I'm shopping. I also make sure I have plenty of fruit in so that if my meals are a bit short on superfrees I can top up on some clementines or a bowl of red fruits (defrosted) or perhaps melon (although that's very expensive at the moment). Is anybody out there feeling that EE is not working for them?
My friend reckons it's because they must have been huge or very unhealthy eaters prior to starting.
There are people in my group who are very attached to green and red days but mostly that's because they knew SW before EE was invented. Personally EE is the only thing I've ever done. Yes, I do agree with your friend that if you've got huge amounts to lose or make massive changes in your diet, you'll probably start off losing more. Don't feel despondent, EE does work. I've lost almost 2 stone in just under 4 months. It's not a massive, fast weightloss but it's steady (averaging 1.5lb a week) and I'm happy with that. SW guarantee that if you follow the plan you'll lose weight. Do post your menus and the clever people on here will be able to advise you.0 -
Thank you all, sorry for bring the thread down ,just felt so low and needed help , went out to inlaws and farther inlaw was talking about his daughter bless her just been given all clear for cancer going on about family members who have or mite now , whats wrong with these people iv'e just lost my dad to cancer , it only been a couple of weeks , sorry

Morning everyone :hello:
WI for me today & I've lost diddly squit!! I am disappointed as I had a sneaky peek on Saturday & it was looking like I'd lost 2lbs this week - serves me right for peeking I suppose!! That was on my bathroom scales but I've just been on the wii bodytest & it told me I'd lost a lb?? Oh well, my 'official' WI is on the bathroom scales so as far as I'm concerned it's still 'officially' a STS this week. Bummer
Not sure about my meals yet so will post again later.
peachy, hope you're feeling a little stronger todayIt is still early days for you & I'm sure your FIL didn't mean to be insensitive. Sometimes people just waffle on & blurt out stuff without thinking because they don't know what to say to someone who has just lost a loved one, I'm sure he would be mortified if he knew he had upset you.

morning everyone, I know I shouldnt weigh myself until day 7 ,
but this morning I weighed myself and it said I have put on 1lb.
Feel really upset about this as its day 6 for me.
I know I have done the plan 100% , have checked everything thats gone in my mouth cos I have online membership. The only thing I can think of is in 4 days it will be my (* week).
I am feeling really desperate , all my clothes are so tight around my middle , I hate it.
I do red days , so for breakfast this morning I had ...
2 rashers of bacon with the fat cut off = 2 small bits.
1 egg
mushrooms
all fried in fry light.
some fat free onken yogurt.
I notised some people have really small meals , is it possible I am eating too much ?
for lunch today I am thinking of having...
stir fry veg with tuna in brine and a table spoon of black bean sauce (will look up syns)
followed by a orange and pear.
tonights dinner....
shepards pie with swede mash and brocklie.
milk for tea/coffee = A
2 alpen lights =B
Do not know what to use my other A & B on ?
and not sure what my syns should be used on yet.Kindness costs nothing0 -
Morning all
Woohoo 1.5lbs gone this weekso that's half a stone in 4 weeks :j. Very happy with that. I was worried I wouldn't have lost this much this week after Sat :rotfl:. I'm now dead on a stone marker so hopefully next week I'll lose something to take me down to the next stone, which will be a huge boost
.
Not quite sure on my meal plan today as I have very little in the fridge.
I have my weight loss hypnotherapy tonight so will let you know how that goes tomorrow. I also have a date later tonight - eeeek! Just going for drinks so will be ok on plan.
Have a good day all

yestuday I picked up some cans of fizzy drinks from sainsburys,
they all say 5 calories per can & no added sugar.
They are not on the SW site , can I be safe to presume they are free ?Kindness costs nothing0 -

Some people are so crass and unthinking, and it's times like this that you realise. I understand how f-i-l would be wanting to share the good news about his daughter, but to then go on about others having cancer is very insensitive. I'm surprised your OH or even m-i-l didn't give him a sharp kick or nudge, or even a very hard Paddington stare to stop him from doing it. In truth these people don't even know they're doing it, and are oblivious to upsetting you, and certainly aren't doing it on purpose... just hold on to that thought, and know it's not done to upset you, even though that's exactly what happens.
Good advice from DKAM, so bear that in mind peachy.
Today is WI day, so it's going to be lots of fruit and not much else prior to weigh in. Urgh! and I won the bl00dy raffle again last week (that I'd provided the prize for, because I won the week before), so what on earth do I take in this week? I've had a look through the SW mags for recipe ideas, but struggle to see how I can buy everything needed for £5. Lots of the stuff is store cupboard stuff, like dried chillies & the seasoning. I put together a beef casserole last week. What I don't want to do is to make a bag of !!!! food, which is what I won the 1st week (bought by the Consultant), which had the nastiest looking bacon (99p) I'd ever seen, battery hen eggs (can't use these on principle), 3 mushrooms, and 2 tomatoes. I think that would have cost about £2.50, and it was poor quality food. I don't want other members to have that, as I think it's important to try to eat the best quality food you can afford.
I tried to do ingredients for a SW quiche, but it always comes out at over £5. The only other idea I've had is to do a bag of free snacks. I've thought Pasta & Sauce, Mugshots, yogurts & some fruit. Anyone got any ideas, or had to do the £5 raffle bag themselves? One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Yes, they should be free. The SW site doesn't have all products in the database, but if you compared them against a can of diet lemonade with the same calorie value, it would be free.
Mirry, it could be that you aren't eating enough! A lady at my group last week was on her 2nd week, and after discussing her disappointment with other members, discovered that she wasn't eating nearly enough food. She was skipping breakfast, and lunch was 1 slice of bread with mushrooms. She was snacking on cucumber and carrot batons in the evening to stop her eating anything else. I reckon her calorie intake would have been about 800 cals a day, so her body was going into starvation mode and hanging onto every morsel that entered it.
Have you been hungry? Worried about eating too much? I also notice that some people do tend to eat far less than I do, or they bulk up their day's meals with lots more fruit & veg than might be the norm, but if that works for them that's fine. I am realistic to know that I could not maintain that food plan long-term, which would undermine my efforts eventually, and make it harder to maintain.
Here's an average meal plan for me (I tend to do EE):
B - FF yogurt, banana, apricot. Or porridge (heb), banana & strawberries, with milk from (hea)
L - 2 or 3 rashers of fat free bacon, 2 eggs, 6 large mushrooms, 1 large tomato, baked beans (2 tbsp)
D - low fat sausages (2 syns), mash, broccoli, carrots, green beans, gravy (2 syns)
Snacks: muller lights, ff activia yogurts, fruit, mugshot noodle/pasta snack
I use my syns up on using olive oil, ketchup, salad cream or even having a treat of a kitkat (5.5 syns)
My best advice to you would be to plan your meals ahead, know your syn values of your favourite foods (the SW website food diary is a godsend for that), and have chosen syn foods/snacks in the house ready to use when needed.
You can use up your HE's A & B on : milk, oils, nuts, alpen bars, cheese, etc.One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

- mushrooms
- broccoli
- peppers
- broccoli
- fibre plus bar (B)

It could well be your time of the month putting it out. Don't worry about portion size, the bigger the better!Stick with it for a month, that way you can see the average over a month which is what is recommended.

So have I got this right, you pay to enter the raffle, you win a prize, then you have to buy the next one? That should be the consultant's job, surely?! It usually is in any group I've been to!
Anyhoo, if you have to spent £5, surely you can do quiche ingredients for that? Even if not buying basic cheap ingredients, a box of eggs (I pay £1 at the farm gate for free range, but in a supermarket say £2), a tub of cottage cheese or quark (up to £1), leaving £2 to spend - what about a bell pepper (70p) and an onion?
Let's see what other themes could you do... spag bol, fruit basket (you could do a huge one with Aldi's super 6), speed foods, superfree foods, smash pizza kit, herbs and spices... or you could cheat and do an extra portion of something you make this week, freeze it and take it in as a HM readymeal?
I'm Ff f-freezing! And I've got a hell of a headache which has led to me comfort eating away my syns for the day alreadyDamn the birthday cake, on the one hand I'm trying to ration myself so I'm not too naughty in one day, on the other hand part of me wants to gobble it all today so that at least its gone! :rotfl:
Had bacon, cheese & red onion quiche this morning - how lush, bacon always feels as if its naughty and not diet food, I thinkI've soaked some broth mix - I hope this is free on green? so will do some sort of vegetable soup when I can be bothered to drag myself off the sofa and go and cook some lunch. I might defrost a gammon and have that with wedges and salad for tea tonight, but then again I might not be bothered
I'm a feeling very ill and pathetic mood today, got vertigo at the top of the stairs
and felt a bit dizzy whilst cooking breakfast, so I'm taking it easy.
Happy slimming everyone.Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0
