Anyone got any ideas, or had to do the £5 raffle bag themselves?

Never come across this sary, when I went to class there was a raffle where the consultant bought the 'prize' & the class bought raffle tickets for 50p a ticket. We also used to take things in to put in the SOTW basket, but just things like one fibre plus bar, a tin of kidney beans, that sort of thing. Think I prefer this idea to your consultant's!!

Anyway, what about ingredients for soup for your raffle bag?? A box of stockcubes, small bag of lentils, maybe a bag of mixed winter veg or a couple of carrots, potatoes, leeks etc?? I do think £5 is a bit steep to have to pay though.

Well done flutterby on your loss!! :j I'm trying not to be jealous, lol!! :o

Still undecided on meals but thinking of trying a quorn chilli tonight so that I can have another green day :D

Some people are so crass and unthinking, and it's times like this that you realise. I understand how f-i-l would be wanting to share the good news about his daughter, but to then go on about others having cancer is very insensitive. I'm surprised your OH or even m-i-l didn't give him a sharp kick or nudge, or even a very hard Paddington stare to stop him from doing it. In truth these people don't even know they're doing it, and are oblivious to upsetting you, and certainly aren't doing it on purpose... just hold on to that thought, and know it's not done to upset you, even though that's exactly what happens.

Good advice from DKAM, so bear that in mind peachy.

Today is WI day, so it's going to be lots of fruit and not much else prior to weigh in. Urgh! and I won the bl00dy raffle again last week (that I'd provided the prize for, because I won the week before), so what on earth do I take in this week? I've had a look through the SW mags for recipe ideas, but struggle to see how I can buy everything needed for £5. Lots of the stuff is store cupboard stuff, like dried chillies & the seasoning. I put together a beef casserole last week. What I don't want to do is to make a bag of !!!! food, which is what I won the 1st week (bought by the Consultant), which had the nastiest looking bacon (99p) I'd ever seen, battery hen eggs (can't use these on principle), 3 mushrooms, and 2 tomatoes. I think that would have cost about £2.50, and it was poor quality food. I don't want other members to have that, as I think it's important to try to eat the best quality food you can afford.

I tried to do ingredients for a SW quiche, but it always comes out at over £5. The only other idea I've had is to do a bag of free snacks. I've thought Pasta & Sauce, Mugshots, yogurts & some fruit. Anyone got any ideas, or had to do the £5 raffle bag themselves?
How about, bacon, garlic, mushrooms, spaghetti and a tub of philli light.

Sary, thanks for the ideas , I like the idea of doing a meal plan.
Its funny that you mention not eating enough , I have on average 7 syns a day and have missed some A & B choices.
seeing your typical day is a great help , it looks about an avergage meal plan I would think ? And I notise you probally have a little more fruit than me, I have felt a little on the hungry side, so I will try to eat more fruit. I will stick it out :).

Skintslimmer, I will see how I stand in one months time, maybe by then it will budge in the right direction, thanks for the tip .

oh heck , I need help pls ...

I got a pack of chilled 750g pork mince
cooking to make a sheppard pie type meal.

Just looked it up on the SW site and it says ...
Pork Mince, 500g pack, chilled, 100g = 4.5 syns on a red day.

would this be the same thing ?

I used 42g of philli light and synned it (it's 2 syns for 28g) and HEb the bacon as I was having a green day, if you wanted it on EE, just add a side salad to it, or extra veggies x
I must say it was soooooooo nice, so quick and easy too x

Yes it would, you would just need to adjust the syns accordingly, so I make that about 22syns for the pack.
