  • well :)well:) well :), people r really doing well. So I have managed to save the £500 a month as I said . So that plus the £5000 I saved over the years is a tidy some, I must say it is ambitious of me to start saving £500 per month with being a full time student and working part time. This month was not easy, less work . will update you how it all goes next month.

Wee update from me. Now 21 and a half years old so getting on a bit. :p

I am about £500 away from hitting my £10k target, and about £700 off filling my ISA allowance for the tax year.

(Actually I have a bit more than my target, but it is locked in shares and deposit on rented flat, so I'm not counting it)

I've jumped from saving £200 a month to £400 without any increase on income.

Once I've filled the cash ISA I plan to stick the rest up until April in my stocks and shares ISA, or put it towards a long awaited trip to NYC with my girl.

    :):)

I started my new job yesterday so all being well, I should be able to start putting much more away each month now. I'm aiming for at least £400 each month, which is a lot more than what is has been.
ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)
  • Doesnt look like this thread has been touched for a while! But Id really like to join in if others do too!
I started a sealed pot after my mum bought one for my birthday this year. And ive mainly been putting notes and £2 coins into it and uping it by selling unwanted items through ebay and car boots.
I also save £20 a month but after reading some of this thread i feel ive caught the bug and want to up that after christmas. However I also put £20 into my sons too.
I really want to save for a deposit for a house.
Im going to aim for £6000  in one year starting from now!!!
Will have to check into this site alot more often for handy tips, freebies etc! :T
