How much can you save?

Welcome! I am 24 and you have saved much more than me so well done! I have just bought a car though, which more than halved my savings. It really annoys me how much money you have to spend on a car - buying it, petrol, maintenance, tax etc etc and now i'm still paying for mine monthly too
Rant over
I really dont know how much to spend on my car. I have a 10yr old KA now, which i paid around £1800 a few yrs ago, prob worth like £700 now if that, but need to sell it - idealy with a few months MOT which ends in August
My insurance is £30 a month, tax is paid up till oct, but now i get my DLA back i get free car tax so i could send my tax disc off to get a refund on remaining months (Up in Dec i think) but prob best selling it with the tax as i want to get my new car soon ish!
If i buy a car with tax i can get refund on the remaining tax from that too!
The car i want is a peugeot 206 cc (or newer 207 cc) but will be spending £5500 - 7500 depending which model/yr i go for. - may involve using overdraft/card etc depending how much ive saved by then.
My heart says buy the car, my head says buy a cheaper 'normal' non sports car and continue saving. hmmm decisions!Make £10 a day Challenge June - £1700 -
I applied for the bos reward card where you get £5 when you put in £1000
i got a letter saying it was successfull
Also i read other people had a few accounts opened with both haxifax and bos, so i tried halifax, it also said successfull, then i got a letter saying to sign a form that am willing for them to get information from 3rd parties if i don't sign it will be closed, i thought the only way i got that is maybe because i was overdrawn because of christmas lets not go on about that, so i thought right i'll leave it at least i have an account with bos.
I went up as it says on the letter you must provide i.d
The bank woman said you do know you have applied twice and both are declined, i can only think its halifax and bos, She just said she doesn't know how i got the letter, though i even got sent a password for banking online.
She gave me an application for a basic bank account, she said the only way i'd get accepted is if i get that and maybe in 6 months i'd build a good credit, which in 6 months i'd like to think am close to saving a decent amount and near to moving out
so the plan to get an extra £5er a month to help save again is of out the question:(
I was always a good saver, now i feel like am actually scared to spend as i want good credit0 -

Just to go on from this story. I went to send a letter to them special delivery. The postman just stuck a 1st class stamp on it and asked for 39p. Seriously, such a bad week. To make things worse, the address is freepost! I cba to argue with the fact I asked for special delivery not 1st class, so paid the 39p and stormed off.0 -

My ambition is buy a plot of land and have my own house built. £30000 for a plot of land is optimistic isnt it? Is there land in your area for that sort of price?Justice for the 96 YNWA
