Amazon prime delivery method has yours changed recently ?

Of the last few things ordered, I'd say that only around half have arrived on time.
This time it's a very small item that will be in a Jiffy bag. Supposed to have been sent (Amazon Prime!) First Class yesterday, and hasn't arrived today. It's happening time after time now, and I seriously doubt that Amazon are despatching when they say they are.
Prime has now become a joke that isn't worth paying for, and I shan't be renewing. :mad:0

Welli complained about my mitre box and the reply was "I can confirm that your order was sent via Royal Mail Premium service and not via First class delivery."
Didnt realise there was a Royal Mail premium ??
Its still not arrived but they have refunded the item, seems a bit odd that they are so quick to refund, they did this with a router that still hasn't arrived ordered before xmasI can confirm that your order was sent via Royal Mail Premium service and not via First class delivery.
Most of the orders dispatched via Premium delivery service will be delivered on the next day as we promised. I'm sorry, this was not happened in your case. This is not a common occurrence but when it does happen, we take full responsibility and will endeavour to find a solution.
I understand that Premium delivery means, the item should be delivered within one day from the date of dispatch. Please note that we will instruct the carrier to deliver the package within this time frame. We expect all of our carriers to deliver a high level of reliability, however, and where this has not been reached we will take the appropriate action on the carriers to improve our services.0

They invent postal services. An item I ordered with Expedited delivery before Christmas they told me they had sent it. Royal Mail Super Saver Delivery, Amazon may have a service called that but Royal Mail don't. When it turned up it had been sent 1st Class despite me paying more over the first class option for Expedited delivery.0

There isn't, so far as I know. It sounds like another Amazon creation to try to fob off angry customers.0

Well, the computer HDD I ordered has finally arrived. It was meant to have been delivered on the 30th December, and it came this morning (standard 1st class and just left behind a flower pot by my front door).
Seems a strange way to send something valued at about £95, especially as there is no proof that it was ever delivered.
I wonder how many fraudulent non delivery claims Amazon are getting nowadays?0

I have just come across this thread having spent a good 20 minutes with Amazon- 10 minutes waiting to be connected and 10 minutes of hopeless arguing. I am also waiting for something ordered with Prime on Thursday. After I came off the phone I had the exact same standard email as Pinkteapot but saying I had to wait until the 8th.
Is this not misselling? They are offering a 'next day delivery' but apparently can't offer any such thing. They are still blaming the weather - I pointed out we hadn't had any snow since the 23rd December and my order was a week later but they said it is Royal Mail's fault - if this is the case why are they using Royal Mail or alternatively why not suspend their one day delivery. I think this must be a matter for trading standards.
 No Prime renewal for me!0

The two books I ordered last Thursday (yes, a week ago) have just arrived. One has been battered and has a creased spine, and it must have left the warehouse like that as the packaging was undamaged.
For both books, the page I ordered from said "Get it by Friday 31st December".
That would have been a lie then Amazon.

Same thing happened for me, a degraded service from Amazon, from the beginning of December. Before this happened, all prime one day orders were either delivered RM Special Delivery or City Link depending upon the size of the item and how close I was to the cut-off when I placed the order. Now everything that used to ship RM Special Delivery is being sent what they call "High Prime". It takes 2-3 working days to arrive and is not trackable. I've sent numerous emails and got the scripted responses back from the off-shore customer services with a raft of excuses about weather and christmas back log. Then yesterday my latest complaint prompted a phone call from their escalations team in Ireland. To be honest, she had not much more to say that clarified for me what was going on, just a raft of excuses and that "they hadn't changed policy in any way" My comments were being sent over to their transport department. But I won't hear back because "unfortunately, any internal investigations that Amazon or Royal Mail conduct cannot be disclosed to the public. This is not just for security reasons but for business reasons also"
To help make up for the inconvenience they've extended my prime membership for one month.
Let's hope this is a temporary situation and not a move to shake off prime customers permanently. Maybe the costs to Amazon of offering prime are creeping up and they are trying to move away from it...0
