I am actually disgusted in Amazon's service, I ordered 3 things yesterday all were due for delivery today. Two items were suppose to come Royal Mail Special delivery and one was suppose to come by City link. Only one item arrived this morning and that was by Royal mail. Every time I go onto Citylink to track my parcel this is what comes up "These goods have been scanned at the collection Depot and are now on route to the delivery Depot"

I thought I was the only one who was experiencing delivery problems today

Amazon has refunded me the delivery cost but that isn't the point

my stuff has been onroute to the delivery depot for 18 days

@amayah - I've also tried to get some sort of e-mail response from them, but they just don't want to seem to answer.

I've received that book I ordered yesterday but it was sent 1st class...But my other items, no idea where they are! City Link still haven't been, but I've already went and got the stuff from Staples, so I'm just going to refuse delivery now. Amazon are absolutely having a laugh at the moment...

I got angered by Amazon at the appalling way their 'BLACK FRIDAY' nonsense ran , and now they're messing around with Prime too...

GOODBYE AMAZON , no more loyalty from me...Play, JohnLewis and the whole other world of e-Commerce, Hello!

I have also had the exact same issue - it took me a while to cotton on that my items were being sent by First Class post!
I called customer services today (still waiting for an 'expedited' item!), and they blamed the snow, the backlog etc etc, but were unable to explain why my items were being sent by RM (untracked, not signed for etc), or why I had no tracking numbers.

Out of the last 6 orders with Amazon (all Prime eligible), only one has been sent with tracking number through Citylink! That's disgraceful!

Is this an OFT issue - I'm not getting the service I have paid (through the nose) for.
    Fuming is not the word!!

I suspect that they have exceeded some sort of quota with Citylink and are using RM to clear their backlog.

I was wondering if they had reached their quota of special delivery!
City Link are wonderful here, never had any problems. I wish everything came via them.

Hopefully everyone with prime (and not just the trial) will complain to amazon and they'll sort it out. The timing of the change to first class was when the special delivery guarantee was removed, they don't really have an excuse now it's back.

I dont think RM can put a quota on customers in that way.
Amazon are using RM tracked in abundance so i dont know why they are choosing 1st class

Assume it would be cheaper for Amazon to just use tracked, especially since everyone seems to be using the 30 day trial for Christmas. Although if I remember right from work, there are times special delivery actually works out cheaper than first class. I don't know the specifics of the deal they worked out with RM though.

from what i hear.Tracked is pennies more than 2nd class for Amazon
Im wondering if the issue is the extra admin for Amazon, on using any form of tracked delivery and it slowing down dispatch?

They're still despatching prime orders very quickly (they only give you about 5 minutes to cancel it), they just aren't getting to customers the next day - unless you're really lucky or they used city link. They seem to just be equating first class to 1 day delivery, which even Royal Mail know isn't the case a lot of the time.

City Link turned up on Wednesday morning with an order placed over the bank holiday :T
