Amazon prime delivery method has yours changed recently ?

I ordered a cheap item (under £4) yesterday evening around 7pm, got an email today that it's been dispatched, however it's via my all-time favourite delivery company (HDNL).
And that was clicking the First-Class delivery option.
Give me Royal Mail instead of HDNL At least with City-Link you can phone them up to give them authorisation to leave in a safe place. At least with City-Link you can phone them up to give them authorisation to leave in a safe place.
Amazon should have systems in place to put a "safeplace" on their packaging
perhaps request that they add it to your future orders
however at this point Ive only seen it on Tracked items0

I ordered an item last Monday night with Prime - dispatched on Tuesday and delivered via HDNL in Belfast on Thursday, so 2 working days. This is despite the package having a 24 hour sticker on it. HDNL's website say they offer a 48hr service to Northern Ireland, which is what I got.
What annoys me is that all my previous Prime deliveries have been via RM Special Delivery, and have arrived the next day. So Amazon are basically saying their Prime service to Northern Ireland has been reduced from a 1 day service to a 2 day service. Needless to say, I won't be renewing my Prime membership.0

The HDNL package arrived at just after 4pm today. Pretty good considering I ordered it Saturday evening.
Look like Amazon are slowly getting back to normal in regards to prime one-day.0

Just put my first (non-Kindle) order in since the December fiascos... ordered Sunday, dispatched by RM today (Monday), to receive tomorrow (Tuesday). I'll see what happens, then!
Well, it went OK this time - delivered around lunchtime (no signature required, small enough to go through the letterbox).0

I suspect Amazon have given up the need to get signatures altogether, relying on other methods (such as 'Tracked') to maintain some sort of handle as to what's going on. Many, if not all, of the Kindles, for example, a few months ago, were just left on people's doorsteps.
Probably enables them to get lower rates from carriers, which would more than counterbalance the odd fraudulent claim from a customer who has the goods but claims not to have them.0

From my perspective Amazon Prime has really deteriorated over the last 3 months or so. Items nearly always used to arrive by City Link or Royal Mail Special delivery the NEXT day
On every order I place I choose 'One Day Delivery' and now they take at least 2 days or more to arrive.
For example; I ordered a pair of headphones on Tuesday 8th Feb. I selected the option that said 'FREE One-Day Delivery : get it on Thursday, February 10' and they weren't delivered today although I have been in all day.
It's such a shame because I used to make a point of looking for products that were available as 'Prime' so I could get them quickly. Now I wonder what the benefit of having prime is really, maybe it would be better to cancel the account and just go supersaver.
I wonder whether Amazon have some sort of agreement with Royal Mail to send items first class, but 'on the cheap' in that although these items get sent first class there is an understanding it may take longer than a day. Either that or Royal Mail are ripping amazon off.0

I will confess that due to the Christmas debarcle and the 2 or 3 Prime items since mid Jan that have failed to deliver next day I have now stopped using Amazon altogether, I realise one customer wont kill Amazon but knowing I spent £6k+ over 100+ items last year I guess every little hurts and maybe if enough people boycott using them (and cancel Prime) they might actually pay attention and stop just sending template emails that say and do nothing about the delayed dellivery issues0
