I'd be interested to see the reply, Vipergrm. I love the way they tell each person who complains that it's an unfortunate one-off rare event.0

They will probably just ban you eventually, they seem to do that to people who complain too much and try to get compensated for things. Must be easier for them rather than just getting their act together.
Not that I am saying you shouldn't complain, its just for what I have read it seems thats the way Amazon act.0

My order from 29th still not here, really dont know if i can be bothered with Amazon anymore
I loved the fact that i knew when orders would arrive, ideal if i need some DIY bits or presents sending, i used to order on Fridays as we are usually in on Saturdays
Now its just too uncertain then can arrive anytime0

Well, looks like the above rant worked. A nice chap from Amazon in Ireland called me about 10 minutes after I sent that and explained that there is some system problem that has caused this whereby all shipments are being sent first class instead of next day delivery. This happened over the christmas period when RM apparently couldn't guarantee special delivery. For whatever reason their system has not reverted back to this. He did say they had no idea when this would be resolved but offered me a full refund on my Prime account, which I accepted.0

That's very interesting indeed - thanks. Unfortunately, though, it's a pack of lies by Amazon. Good result, though - well done! 0 0

I posted this on the Amazon Forums Deals Prime blog a few days ago. If you are lucky, you will still be able to get evidence of this blatant attempt to change the description of the servcice via the "Google search cache" route. You then have an open and shut to claim a full refund if necessary.
:
I had an interesting unprompted call from one of the "supervisors" from Amazon a few minutes ago, asking why I had claimed in an e-mail to them that the new "default" Prime delivery service (the notorious "unspecified"/"prime" Royal Mail service that they are now using instead of the good old reliable Royal Mail Special Delivery) is in breach of their T&Cs. I showed them how their web-site clearly states that the default delivery option under Prime is "One-day delivery" a link to which, in turn, categorically states at the end of the definition section
Please note: A signature will be required on delivery of your parcel
which of course it must do for any genuine one-day delivery service such as Citylink, HDNL or RM Special Delivery.
Guess what, within 10 minutes, that sentence has mysteriously changed to:
Please note: A signature may be required on delivery of your parcel
They are clearly preparing the ground to fight the wave of small-claims court challenges that they are about to receive. Be quick and google "Amazon One-day delivery" and go to the cached version to download the original version to store in a Word document, as you may need it later.0

That's a great point. I do still think there is an error somewhere in the system because people are ordering items at £100 plus with no signature required. This is crazy. It'll probably end up costing them more money in the long run due to things mysteriously going missing.0

I have posted in the Amazon forums regarding poor Prime service and also the major problems when anything is sent via City Link. As there seems to be no interest from Amazon I sent an email directly to their CEO (well actually their now retired on ill health grouuns CEO Brian McBride) but it still got me a more professional response from one of the executive leadership team on behalf of their new CEO Christopher North.
TBH it was still a load of waffle and excuses but if you feel you want to I would advice complaining directly to the top so at least Amazon will realise that people are sick of the excuses and garbage emails that are sent when complaints are made to customer services.
The email for anyone wanting to write is bmcbride@amazon.com0
