I'm a loyal customer to Amazon ordering a few times every week, about a fortnight ago I ordered a george foreman single grill for H2B to take to work so he can cook while he's there (he works nights) I picked 1-2 day delivery paying extra for it, I work from home so I don't really miss the parcel man they all know to leave it in a certain place for me by now. Anyway I've been in for the last fortnight and the grill hasn't arrived I've had other parcels from other online shopping I've done, so I contacted Amazon and said my parcel hasn't arrived they asked me to wait till friday just gone so I waited till yesterday to see if the parcel came which it didn't so eventually yesterday I emailed Amazon back saying that my parcel still hasn't come could they please send a new one.
They sent a new one out straight away which I got this afternoon which is brilliant, I recieved an email tonight off Amazon asking if I had recieved my original order and if do click on this link to say yes and send the replacement back or another link to say no I haven't got it. For audit reasons or something. Has anyone ever had anything like this before?
 Many thanks

With UPS, DHL etc if something is "out for delivery" I can be 99% certain I will get it that day. With my local HDNL it can sit in the back of their van for several days. It's as if they do a few deliveries each day, get bored then go home.
Or the driver gets set too many deliveries to try and do that day and is running late, so lies on the computer that he tried to deliver but nobody was home to make up for lost-time.0

Fair point. They could just be overloaded. Which suggests that HDNL are undercutting the competition by giving their drivers more deliveries than they know they can cope with. This almost never happens with other courier companies.0

Two items ordered yesterday arriving tomorrow (supposedly) by HDNL. Been a Prime member for around three years, and that's a first. We shall see.0

I had a prime delivery sent HDNL sent last Saturday and arrived Monday like promised. Unlike when they decide to just send it first class, my trial is over now decided not to continue as 90% of my orders were not any quicker than Super Saver.0

I ordered a cheap item (under £4) yesterday evening around 7pm, got an email today that it's been dispatched, however it's via my all-time favourite delivery company (HDNL).
And that was clicking the First-Class delivery option.
Give me Royal Mail instead of HDNL At least with City-Link you can phone them up to give them authorisation to leave in a safe place. 0 At least with City-Link you can phone them up to give them authorisation to leave in a safe place. 0

Just put my first (non-Kindle) order in since the December fiascos... ordered Sunday, dispatched by RM today (Monday), to receive tomorrow (Tuesday). I'll see what happens, then!0
