I've cancelled my Prime membership, having used it for three years without hassle, Over christmas amazon were appalling, and since then like many others, anything that I've ordered on prime has been sent 1st class instead of special delivery

My latest order (placed Tuesday) arrived yesterday at about 9:30 by City Link - about 16 hours after ordering :)

I haven't had my delivery method changed yet, but I would be a bit upset if they did and it didn't come within the time period I expect. Thanks for the info, I'll have to look into this

Just placed an order; I had the choice of free first class delivery or Free next day Expedited Delivery. I chose expedited...delivery estimate 26th Jan; nice! :|

I recently upgraded to Amazon Prime as I was getting sick of the crappy delivery service from HDNL.

At first I was happy but now deliveries have switched back to HDNL who seem incapable of delivering next day. It seems Amazon Prime use a good delivery service early on to get you sucked into paying for the service at the end of the trial - and then reverty back to the muppets at HDNL. How can something be "out for delivery" for 3 days in a row?

What was the ETA for the first class delivery, and the dispatch dates?
I ask as sometimes stuff does mention it's in stock but may take an extra couple of days to dispatch.

I placed an order for some printer ink earlier, it's been dispatched via HDNL for delivery tomorrow :) (HDNL around here are pretty good).

The problem with HDNL is that they are run on a local franchise model. Some may be good. Others are terrible. With UPS, DHL etc if something is "out for delivery" I can be 99% certain I will get it that day. With my local HDNL it can sit in the back of their van for several days. It's as if they do a few deliveries each day, get bored then go home.

I really don't understand this. I've cancelled my Prime account and now I only have Super Saver delivery available. My wide ordered a bag and it arrived just TWO DAYS after the order was placed by 2nd class post! Ironically, this is much, much faster than anything I received from my Prime account. How does that work?!
