I've been working hard in the living room (have an extra incentive as whole room has to be cleared by Monday morning - carpet man coming) (also have to make room in the dining room for things to go )
Have filled bin twice, some papers into recycling, some things to be moved to more useful place.
thinking about having a fire to burn some of the rubbish - it's a nice day.
sofa is covered with bits at the moment...

2 bags of rubbish, 1 bag of charity, 1 bag of stuff back to my friend, 1 bag of outgrown toys/clothes to another friend, 2 magazines to my mum and lots and lots of recycling. Went through all folders that i've put all magazine cut outs in eg craft projects, home ideas recipes etc. Had to be realistic about what i am going to do! I am in the process of setting up a home journal/folder type thingy! Apparently this will sort my life out (cough cough!) so lets see! I'm definitely going to do that thing where you deal immediately with the piece of paper in your hand. The amount of bits of paper that quite honestly i have no idea why i kept them is ridiculous!
Looks like we're all working hard. I keep saying to myself it didn't take a day to get like this so won't take a day to sort out. Once i've put all the systems i want in place its got to get better! xxxIf music be the food of love then play on"No matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow". ღ ~Maya AngelouDoing it for my kids. This is what I've managed in the last week:
The Christmas decorations and some baking tins that I don't use that often-down to the cellar.
Nine books and a mouse pad to go to the charity shop.
Some underwear to go out to the clothes recycling bin.
It's a start I suppose!0 -
I still have both my DDs off school with nasty hacking coughs and raised temps so didn't think I would get much done this week, but my little horder, DD1, has surpassed herself
I had 4 recycling bags from Mr T's home panel to test over 2 weeks. All 4 are full in less than a week, mainly thanks to her! She's gone through hers papers/craft/making/drawing stuff and has outed lots of old rubbish and pictures (
) - special ones have been saved to store in a box in the loft
She has found several little bits and bobs and a few books she no longer wants so they are now waiting to be carbooted, ebayed or sent to the CS. We haven't even made a start on the room of doom aka the playroom, can't actually wait for that now, the thought usually fills me with dread! Even though I felt like poo today I've managed to do some chores and also cleaned out the little cupboard in the utility where the washing liquid etc is kept on one shelf and batteries and lightbulbs etc on the other. Found some creams and medicines up there too, which led to a tidy up of the medicine cupboard in the kitchen. Didn't really throw much out as I only sorted it a few months ago, but found an extra bottle of Calpol in there I didn't know I had - don't need to buy anymore after all for the girlies so saved some pennies this week. Speaking of which, the girls and I haven't left the house since the school run on Monday afternoonso no spending
Roll on tomorrow when DD1 at least will be back to school and I can go through some more paperwork woohoo!Extra savings aim for 2020 £4,000 £0/£4,000

I've tidied my desk and put anything that needs shredding in the to shred box.
I took a bag of books to the CS.. just one more bag of clothes to go and then my living room is a bit tidier! I have about 3 bags of magazines to take to the local magazine recycling point tomorrow as well as throw away 3 bags of rubbish.
I'm doing it a little at a timeCompetition Wins:

Ran out of energy and then hubby came home early, his contract been terminated (he'll get paid notice & get some compensation so we'll be ok for a while and he was sick of the job anyway).
So living room looks like a tip at the moment, even though I know have done some good work today.
Need to have cleared the dining room up enough by Sunday to move furniture from the living room into it, and haven't done any more in there today.

Really sorry to hear that elaine12022, hope your husband finds something new soon.
I've had real problems with a L*keland order recently and when I read their promise that they would refund any product at any time if you weren't satisdfied I emailed and they're refunding 6 items I've bought in past sales online that actually made it to me. 1 used and an awful product I think. So a cheque in the post to me and they've said not to return items and to give to charity shop if I can so I think the new gifty things I will and the used thing with try on freecycle. So that'll hopefully be six things out and some money in - not that I would want people to take advantage of guarentees like this but thought it might help someone else - some thinking outside the box decluttering for those who are looking for ways to get some money back from things.
Ins since yesterday have just been post and a few bits from Guides like cheques but will pay those in today and got rid of a bit of paperwork too.
Outs quite a lot of the post and a few bits out of Guide and Brownie bag into recycling.
Have got my list ready of what I want to try and declutter tomorrow at the shops- need to get all the bits together when I get home tonight.
Don't think it'll be free listings on ebay this weekend now so I've got my list of cheaper things ready to list - going to aim for 5 listings and will relist anything that doesn't sell this weekend.
Frustrating that I can't do much decluttering at work but at least I can make plans for what I'm going to do at the weekend - or attempt at least!Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000
