i keep finding loose change
(and an interesting looking spider this evening)
well, have managed some more in the dining room - 1 more bag of rubbish, and we have filled a small bag for the CS. We have cleared behind the chest in the hallway & moved the chest back - the hallway looks much bigger now  Wasn't even planning to do much just wanted to move things around, so quite chuffed.
Hope you all have a good weekend

Good morning fellow declutters.
Well, highlight of yesterday was a charity bag landing on the doormat! (You can see how exciting my life is.) So this weekend's challenge is to fill it full ready for pick up on Monday.
Hope everyone has a good decluttering weekend.

Good morning
I would really like to join this thread as my house is truly overflowing with carp and although I had an initial flylady flurry before Christmas it is back to it's usual self. My problem is that I have little time due to working full time and have three teenage 'messer uppers' and a dog so tend to clean and tidy the same things over and over eg bathroom kitchen and stay on top of the washing but this does not leave much time to tackle the rest.
After reading almost 26 pages I feel motivated to make a commitment to have a clutter free house for 2011 as it has been on my resolutions list for 4 years!! Also there is some work to be done in the decorating department as well but this will have to come later.....
I have 11 areas in my house (rooms and attic plus garden) so am going to start a 15 minute blitz in each one over the next week and already have boxes ready for BIN CHARITY and SELL.
I have no experience of ebay and if honest would have to say it is a bit daunting but maybe as I get a little more confident this will come as have tons of 'stuff' which would probably sell and would go towards other house essentials, like a shed door!!
Just need to get the teenagers on board now!!
Thanks for all the tips going to make a start......NOW!

yep, i'd get rid of those fish :rotfl:
Hi Fairy3
I'm new to this thread too, but not new to attempting to declutter:o.
I've not been brave enough to try & sell anything on ebay, think I would find it too stressful.
I have given things away, or taken them to the CS though.
good luck with the teenagers, there may be hope - my teenage niece was recently persuaded to tidy her room :rotfl:

Hia - welcome aboard :j
Perhaps try and persuade the teenagers to flock some of their stuff - there are sites like music magpie (think its called) that takes stuff. I personally dont ebay only because I kept getting lots of problems. Plus I found I was creating more clutter by creating boxes of stuff to sell. I prefer to see the stuff gone asap.:beer:Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

I'm feeling gentle on myself today mainly because I have a sniffly cold.
Who's up for getting rid of 20 things today or tomorrow?
Shall we seek out those things cluttering up hallways, stairs, anywhere!
Have you had some "ins" recently of clothes or stuff - perhaps try and seek out the older things that go in return.
Let's go:j I'll be back to report on progress later :jDeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Teenagers can be really great at helping you declutter YOUR stuff, just not so good at their own. The mini challenges are better for them. The 'find 5 things to get rid of' or '10 things for the charity shop'.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
