It baffles me as to why we are still getting posts like this. Why would they still want to deal with you - whether it's 5,10, 15, or 50 years you've been with them.
You reclaimed your charges - fair enough.
They don't want to deal with you - fair enough, we live in a democracy.
Rather than getting in a lather, try and look at it the other way round - if someone threatened to sue you (rightly or wrongly) would you really ever want to deal with them again?
No, I thought not.0 -
Im not getting into a lather about it, cant you tell by my tongue in cheek tone.
Merely saying i stood up for myself got my money back that they took unlawfully and would have liked to stay with them less hassle than setting direct debits up all over again elsewhere, they said no i wasnt that bothered and am now banking elsewhere end of!!
Was just posting my experiences as the thread asked and so other people no who exactly is closing accounts.0 -
Hi im a newbie, and would love to claim back on charges from my bank and credit cards. The only thing is im in a bit of a rut at the moment, not helped by these charges! I have an overdraft of £3000 with Royal Bank of Scotland, im in this every month, if i claimed my bank charges would they close my account and demand the overdraft back? and would the same go for my 2 credit cards, i have one with Capital One and one with Egg, would they also demand there money back? If i could claim some charge money back, it would help me to get out of this financial rut!0

does any one know if i can only claim charges back if it is a personnel account or does it also apply to business accounts too? i am ready to post my request to the bank to repay my charges total £2,400and wondered if this might be a loop hole.
please reply if any one can help me!0 -
I had my Alliance & Leicester account closed because I had claimed back the charges.
I have also complained to the Ombudsman.
There have been some comments about it being a waste of time, but I think unless enough
people complain then nothing will be done about this situation.
Once my three months are up I am going to be reappling to Alliance & Leicester for another
current account the interest rate is good and both my wife and I will each make £50 from it.
I would recommend the Alliance & Leicester to anyone. Just make sure you claim back their
charges. Now I've switched accounts, I have found it is not such a big deal.0 -

As this thread was aimed at users posting which bank does close their accounts after reclaiming bank charges can we please keep the questions to other threads on the board so the information is easier read.0

OK, your point accepted - all the exclamation marks made me think you were cross.
I wouldn't blame anyone for getting into a lather - this is becoming a soap opera, after all!
By the way, my name isn't Tony.:)
