I dont think theyll close it but just use the money you get from the charges to cover the 2k debt. When its done. Close it.
And yes of course theyll ask you to repay the money back.Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"0 -
veeduber wrote:hello im a student with the usual student debt, i work a fair bit but due to my pasion for my old car money is always scarse. ive been thinkin about this bank charge situation for sometime and decided to take action, jump on the band wagon
however just my luck im with nationwide, i have 3 accounts flex account, cash builder and e-savings. the flex account has a fairly large overdraft around 2k now i know my bank charge refund will not cover tht so if they decide to lose my lifetime custom with them and close my account will they ask for the overdraft to be paid back in full as im in no position to do so being student n all tht. or can i arange a repayment scheme to pay the amount gradually which im more than happy to do
any advice would be hugely appreciated, thank god i found this site its such an inspiration to finally sort my finances out!!!
thank u in advance
would think if you were unable to clear it straight away they would agree to an arrangement with you dont hold me to that right enuff i did the same thing years ago paid like £50 quid a mth on a £1000 overdraft.....0 -
I was going to claim back bank charges but then I remembered the nightmare of changing bank accounts, and all the hassle of direct debit etc.The charges created by them not starting, having money in old and new accounts (just in case) is just too stressful. Its £400 approx, but it will have to wait until I am organised with new bank account etc. My debt moment came when I found this site quite by accident-I am now on a tight budget, hoping to finish the 6 year car loan this june -car went 3 years ago-looking forward to freeing up that money to save a little and bring down that credit card debt mountain.dogsrus0

I have reclaimed twice from Smile - the first for around £350 then again for £437. In their last letter they said that they would not refund any more bank charges unless there was a bank error, and any further complaints will result in me being given 30 days notice of my account being closed.0

Alliance and Leicester closed our account, but not before trying to charge us for dd's they refused to pay because they had stopped the account even though the money was still in the account to pay them and the date of the account closure had not passed!0
