Just called them and no, they don't have any shops in my part of the country.

Laromantica only have a show room in yorkshire. I have suggested they put the latex mattress on there website, as they are not shown.

    They know tim ok.

Edit removed comment as tim can't talk about it on this forum.

Hi tim. I have just called homestore and more and asked to return the sealy mattress. They will collect next week and give me a refund.

Over the last week, this mattress has become very uncomfortable. It's not supporting me and is seems to have a dip now. it slopes to the center. I may as well just lay on a bed of springs. I have tried sleeping on the edge but that is not comfortable. I have not been able to sleep well at all. I can feel all the pressure on my body. I did turn it round but the same. This is a new record, after one week this mattress has gone bad. Last night I had to put my 3" memory topper on, just to make it more comfortable but even that is limited.

I was hoping to go for a open coil but not sure if I will get the same problems as with the sealy. Other than that, back to pocket springs.

So looks like that posturetech system is no better.

Do you know any places I can try them la romantica beds?

I don't want to say I told you so, but the Posturetech spring system is the continuous spring system that I warned against.

Bonnell open coil springs are the most resilient mattress springs you will find.

Just seen your reply tim. Well sometimes you need to try these things out for yourself and learn by the experience.

Shame mattresses are not made like they used to be but you were right.

Does anyone on here have a romantica mattress and what are they like? Good or bad?

Just found this thread about la romantica https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2711229

Only had it for 18 months and problems. That don't help when you are spending £500 to £600 on a la romantica. That has now thrown a spanner in the works.

I've had a Romantica mattress for 7 years (think it is latex kind) and it's still fine. Trouble is mattresses are such a personal thing, and so pricey. Luckily I bought mine as a complete one-off from a trader who had picked it up somewhere (maybe trade sample or something) and I only paid 60 quid for it.... not looking forward to when it needs replacing!

Thank you for posting your experience with la Romantica. I wouldn't mind just paying £60 for a mattress like that but thats not going to happen.:)

    Other thing.
I called rest assured today to ask them what depth the layer of innergetic latex is in their mattresses.

They told me it's, 3cm, approx 25mm or 1 inch. That is right accross the whole range. No matter what mattress you buy.

I'm sure you have seen tim say it's only about 1 inch.

  • Does anyone have any experience of this mattress?

Apparently its the same as the Capri mattress from dreams which is considerably more exoensive so not sure if they are the same or not and whether they are any good?

If it's about the same as the Capri, then why not pop into your local dreams store and try it out.

You don't have to buy from expensive dreams though. Just remember that, rest assured is part of the silent night group. http://www.silentnightgroup.co.uk/

I was actually pointed in the direction of a newly opened bed shop not far away by a friend. To my surprise they had a lot of la romantica beds in the show room, it's not a big shop by any means, but they did have a good selection.

I can't remember the exact name but I liked the la romantica with 1500 pocket springs. No memory foam or latex foam, just pocket sprung. He said if I wanted it I could have it for £250. Didn't go for it right away, but I'm going to go back for a second look and I will probably go for it.
