Dissappointed with current mattress, need a new firm super king mattress

Sorry to start another mattress thread but I'm hoping someone can help.
18 months ago I bought a La Romantica Madrid Super King size mattress and divan set from Bedlum beds. After 12 months the mattress started to feel VERY soft and started to sink towards the middle despite it being advertised as medium firm. It's now got to a point where I can't get a good nights sleep and want rid of it. It only came with a 12 month warranty so I've got no choice but to bin it and buy a new one.
Anyway, I'm looking for a new firm super king size mattress for upto £600 for use on my exisiting divan base. I've been looking for the last couple of weeks and have come across few that are within budget and seem to have good reviews:
mattressman.co.uk/hypnos/mattresses/mattresses/super_king/P5610S0L/evesham.aspx - Not sure about spring count but has a good warranty
mattressman.co.uk/sealy/mattresses/mattresses/super_king/P266S0L/millionaire_ortho.aspx - Doesn't mention spring count and only has 1 year warranty
There's also this one from Tesco which for the price seems a good buy but can't find any reviews.
direct.tesco.com/q/R.207-3201.aspx - Again doesn't mention spring count and only has 1 year warranty
Does anyone have any experience of the above mattresses or can recommend one based on personal experiences?
Thanks for reading if you made it this far. :T
P.S. Sorry for the URL's, site wouldn't allow me to post links.

I can't believe that. I almost convinced the La Romantica Madrid would be my high possible option. Hope more people using this mattress would come here to let us know the result too.

If your mattress has gone soft after 12 months then it is most likely that there is a fault with the springs. This can happen with any mattress. So contact the seller to get it exchanged.
With most manufacturers the full guarantee period is only 12 months. When you see a longer warranty, it is usually on a sliding scale. All products must have a design life. So for example if something has a design life of 5 years, and develops a fault due to materials or workmanship after 4 years, then the manufacturer must pay towards the cost of replacement or repair. But you would have to pay 80% plus delivery. So when manufacturers give a 5 year warranty, then they are only doing what they are obliged to do by law, but they are using it as a sales gimmick.
If there was a fault in the manufacturing process then it should appear within 12 months anyway.0 -

It's possible I got a faulty one so don't let that put you off. It was good whilst it lasted but it would be good get feedback from other owners.0 -

Can I still get it exchanged after 18 months? I might try contacting the seller and see what they say.
Do you know of any firm mattresses that would meet the above criteria?0 -

Yes you should be able to still get it exchanged, as it would be well within it's design life.
All manufacturers have to abide by the same laws, although with some retailers you may have to push them. But just ask them.0 -

La romantica matts are poor quality, cheaply made and contain many gimmicks, including double sided memory foam options which are just a waste of money! Hypnos, on the other hand, may be a bit pricier but you are buying from a brand with an incredibly good pedigree and years of experience! Good luck
Well the Hypnos is very tempting as it's had good reviews but I've sent an email to the supplier to see if they can replace it or do anything else to help. It's a shame to have to throw away a £600 mattress after only 18 months.0 -

Well I got in touch with Bedlum beds and they have arranged for the mattress to be swapped!! :j In fact it should be delivered tomorrow.
The mattress was comfy to start with so I'm pretty sure it developed a fault at some point. We started hearing springs pinging more often too which didn't sound healthy.
Got to say, I'm very impressed with the service so far. Didn't expect an exchange on a product out of warranty to say the least.
I'll update this thread later in the week once the new mattress has arrived.0 -

Thank you for getting back to me, yes that is very good customer service!! Is the bed very firm to start with or more of a medium to firm?
Look out for your next post0 -

I personally think it's medium firm to firm. Not very firm, that's for sure but I don't think it's advertised as being very firm anyway. Like I say, I was more than happy with it to start with until it started getting softer. We'll see how the replacement is.0
